  1. is it just me or we can't set Poweramp as default music player in google assistant anymore? I can play if I ask directly "play whatever in Poweramp", but I want to be able to just say "play whatever" and directly go to Poweramp, wich it should be possible to set up in google assistant's settings>music>music service, but Poweramp  is not in the list

  2. I gave this issue some time to see if I could ignore it, but I can't, so as @maxmp suggested here I started this request.
I have flat EQ with 0% Bass and 0% Tone for speaker, another for bluetooth, and also have a preset for Wired Headset.
There are some songs, and entire albums that I saved custom presets for, but the problem is, they override per-device ones (like maxmp said), but I think it should be:

This (should be not permitted, always select the context, either speaker, wired, bluetooth or combination of 2 or more):

    1969933675_noover.thumb.png.984ef7f8149c8dc8d609dcff1cfb1a6c.png

    Should NOT override this:

    wired.thumb.png.e01edf21d158376e28840aa4e2a82cbc.pngor this:speaker.thumb.png.e8111b507e7ce78c81f57fbd545f1ea5.png

But this SHOULD override the previous 2 screenshoots (respectively):

basically, currently it's not possible to save in that way (both apply to folder (or song) AND speaker or wired headset), doing so will unassign the preset that was saved with only speakers or wired headset option selected. and I find that a problem. So it should be mandatory that when you want to save a preset for a song or entire album, select if you want that to be done when wired, speaker, bluetooth or combination of 2 or more.

I hope the situation I tried to explain was clear enough

    • reintroduced per-track equ preset assignment

@maxmp thanks for that! it's the first time I use it and I find it super useful, is there a way to make it wired headset only too? for example, per-track/folder assignment but only when wired is plugged, not when played in phone's speaker, meaning it doesn't override other presetes that are only marked for wired headset? (I don't know if it's clear what I'm asking for, but basically having a preset for a track or folder + wired headset and not override the preset that is already assigned for wired headset only)

EDIT: and it's also overriding speaker only preset

Poweramp Lock screen isn't working after updating on Samsung S9 plus. Starts for two seconds and than changes to default lock screen.

Are you sure it isn't 5 seconds? It's the new timeout (can be disabled in Settings>Lock Screen>Shorter Timeout)

Hey @maxmp thanks for the good works.

There is a resizing problem there, I had it with a 3rd party skin too and thought it was skin related, but I have it too with your last change.

Plenty of screen real estate lost imho, check the screenshot:

it is to keep aspect ratio of the album cover, else would be stretched

To ger “pure” output (no volume level or anything changed by Poweramp) on hi-res output use (in hi res output settings):

    - No DVC: on

    - No headroom gain: on

    - either use Flat equalizer preset and bass/treble to 0, or use No Equ: on option in output settings, or disable equ/tone on equalizer pages

    - ensure preamp is set to middle position

    - other stuff like reverb, stereo x, music fx should be disabled on equalizer screens

This gives pure “as is” output on any volume levels. Android fully manages volume then (integer multiplication).

Actually this works for any PA output type as well.

But such pure (hi res or not) sound usually received as flat and not interesting by many;-)

    and limit off, right?

is this normal? when hi-res output is selected for wired headset then direct volume control is enabled.. playback is directed to speaker..

and when dvc is disabled it is playing back normally in wired headset but the quality of sound is somehow reduced.

    im using 802 build.

Yeah I'm having the same issue. With DVC enabled I have weird bugs on my phone. The volume indicator doesn't show for volume control apps and when i enter games, the sound gets cut (it gets cut, not paused). Currently, I just disable DVC and endure the significantly lowered volume. I'm using an LG G7.

if you guys have Tasker, you can auto turn on/off do not disturbe mode with this:

Just to ask all Oreo user,  did you all need to disable the Direct volume control  (DVC) to avoid the bad quality sound (too much bass so that the sound is "breaking' ) and  set the Replay Gain to more the -10dB  (say -15 dB) to avoid the breaking sound?

My device is LG Q6+ , Poweramp worked fine in 7.1.1 previously, but it have serious sound problem after upgraded to Oreo 8.10.

    Thanks for reply.

I don't have any problem on Oreo 8.0 stock Xperia XZ, sounds epicly nice

It would be worthwhile to implement a list based bookmark feature for audiobooks.

Pressing the bookmark icon to the right of the "select" button in the list would activate the feature. Poweramp would update the bookmark file with every five minutes of progress and whenever the player is paused/interrupted. Returning to the list, you'd be asked to continue from your bookmark. Selecting "yes" would auto-play from your stopping point. Selecting "no" would overwrite the file. Deactivating the bookmark would erase the file.

I don't use audiobooks, but this is for sure a great idea

    +1

  10. @maxmp remember that "bug" about Hi-Res + DVC compatibility issue in some devices that causes audio leaking through speakers after a random period of time passes? I noticed that when I repeatedly click my headphones mic button the audio briefly comes back to headphones, maybe for half a second each time I press it (then leaks again from speakers)

Everything is great. But with the visualization enabled and the song paused, something like that is done. Just like the background of the album cover ... The problem disappears as it turns off the visualizations ....

Yes, and this is caused by having "Strict" option enabled under Visualization Settings
