  1. When displaying album art to represent an album, Poweramp selects a track's album art. The problem comes when the album has per-track artwork. It then chooses the artwork for a single track and uses it to represent the whole album. The workaround is to not embed per-track artwork but use album-wide artwork. However, having it there really enhances the experience when such artwork is available. I've been around since sometime during v2. There used to be the option to use in-folder artwork for displaying in the library, so that you could embed whatever artwork you wanted for each track to be displayed in the main screen. Is there a way to have both, like it used to be? If not, could we have this feature back?
  2. Here's hoping he doesn't hate me. You're really missing out! MusicBrainz Picard is one of the best audio taggers out there. Particularly so if your music is in the database already. And you can edit the tags too, if any of them are not to your liking.
  3. MALP is the only player (actually a MPD remote but still) that I know which supports this on Android. It's a huge help when you just want to find an official tracklist and hit play, even if you have to go in and check which one you want, because usualy one doesn't have more than two. I have three, but still.
  4. This messes up scrobbling. Poweramp could use beets' approach to disambiguation and display the catalog number, or the year, or the label or even the release type (album, EP, single), as appropiate for each case. Again, for people who scrobble changing the album title is not an option. That's what I do as well. But if I could I wouldn't even bother. Again, this customised tagging approach takes too much time when you have like 10,000 tracks to go over and make sure there's no duplicates. This could be easily solved if Poweramp displayed artists and albums using MusicBrainz tags.
  5. They're different releases. You can tell because they have different covers. That messes up scrobbling. What I do is change the disc number so that I can still scrobble! It also takes too much time because my library is too big, which also means I have to remember exactly which are the releases with this issue and I can't avoid missing them. Add to that the fact that beets' MBSync plugin undoes all these changes anyway (this last thing isn't necessarily a Poweramp issue. But if you want to keep your tags updated and clean, this is a big problem.)
  6. I'd also like that different names of the same artist were fused using MusicBrainz IDs, or at least the sort tag.
  7. Hi again, I know this is my second feature request in a minute but I really want a fix for this. I currently have all my music library tagged by beets, which uses MusicBrainz. I have quite a few duplicate releases which are the same album/single but have different exclusive tracks on them. Poweramp consolidates these and orders these tracks by track number, then title. This results in album entries which have tracks duplicated up to three times! This is not wanted. If Poweramp listened to the MusicBrainz tags it could separate these releases and then I wouldn't have to resort to non-standard tags. Non-standard tags take a lot of time to prepare. It'd be far quicker to just tag automatically using beets, convert and use straight away. I'll upload a screenshot with an example in a little while. My Poweramp library is currently empty. Thank you!
  8. First of all I want to apologize for acting like a baby last time I was here. I'm sorry Max, I really snapped. I feel particularly guilty because my feature request was fulfilled after all. I'm sorry, it won't happen again. Now that's out of the way, I'd like for Poweramp to be able to scrobble to ListenBrainz properly. That is, by exposing the MusicBrainz recording ID of each scrobbled track to the scrobbler. I don't think any Android music player does that yet, not even the FOSS ones. This is useful because ListenBrainz stores that information. On Last.FM all tracks with the same title are considered one single track, and multiple titles for identical tracks from different sources have different entries on Last.FM. ListenBrainz stores the MusicBrainz recording ID to: consolidate identical tracks with different titles or artist tags differentiate tracks with identical names but different audio content. Lately I'm obsessed with tagging and all my music has the proper tags for it. This is currently a very wanted feature for me. Thank you!
  9. I was gonna say Modern but that's actually Microsoft's old new name [sic] for what they called Metro. It's Material Design. OK, you know what? Two of the three options in the hamburger menu are used by nobody and they are already inside the only other option on there. It should be a shortcut to the settings menu, and shown in another pane like the library, EQ and search buttons. Like this it's too broken an experience. It used to be so, but Google decided it was too confusing (and it was because I don't think most people used it) so they put it on the screen, to be hidden when useless. 🙃 null
  10. Thank you, Max, for the useful information. So, put it beside the title, like most of it's options were before v3. Max, is there a reason you don't want to show the cover unadulterated by default OR user provided skins? Because you refuse to tell us but it's pretty obvious there's something going on, I just don't know what because it really makes no sense. Or maybe you don't care, IDK and I don't really care either because I got used to you being completely silent on this issue. Well I obviously do still care because I'm still talking to you, but anyways
  11. It's because it's not adapted properly to your phone screen size, only to small screens… This is not an isolated case either because I think I've seen it elsewhere in this forum!
  12. [looks at skin] ***k. Welp, good enough, and I already gave up. Thank you for the skin, much better than before!
  13. I have a question before falling in love: Do we get non-square covers, tall or wide, cropped on this skin? I don't want to fall back on my old workaround of making transparent PNGs for this.
  14. I want the cover completely unobscured. No rounded corners, no buttons in the cover, no trimmed covers because they are too tall, nothing! This is absurd, I am not happy at all with the update, if anything I'm worse off now because the problem has now been 'solved'.
  15. When we learn to code, of course! There can be any number of reasons he doesn't care. But he won't tell. And I can't complain either, because I paid for the app. wait
  16. While I admit I just don't want anything modifying the artwork at all, I will concede that this looks extremely clean and would not bother me enough to make a thread about it. There'd be another issue though. An extremely important one. I can barely see the UI! And I have good vision too, anybody with even the slightest vision problem would see nothing!
  17. I guess maybe I do have a little patience left. I did ask about where the skins were, I'm sorry. You did nothing for me to answer that way. Now, about the silence… Did Max ever say whether he would fix this or did he just hint towards it with the sample skin he released? Because that's a real subtle way of avoiding the issue. [I want to scream.]
  18. I don't care. Please read my post, top to bottom, if you want to talk to me because I am absolutely dissapointed right now and have no patience left to explain myself anymore.
  19. Is any of them available now for free? Or even available? Where do I look? I searched through Play Store and found that none were free, or they didn't address the issue in the first place. Or you know what? Maybe I just want Max to say "I am not going to fix this" because at this point I just want to be able to give up and call it a day. Needless to say I don't think we should close the topic. You just hit a nerve, I'm sorry. I just want to know whether this will be fixed already! I wouldn't have bought this app if I had known communication would be non-existent. Max is not the only person in the world of software that has done this, it's a real issue and it's never going to be addressed, I'm guessing. It's like I'm waiting to be rewarded for my patience except I actually paid to wait and that is not a reward. I'm actually being punished for paying. It isn't even about the cover anymore, I just want a response.
  20. Oh, I had hidden the like-dislike buttons, I had forgotten about those. I actually meant the skip track/skip list buttons, I use those all the time. It's alright to swipe the cover for that but at first glance you wouldn't know you can do that.
  21. You're missing five buttons and the duration and you rounded off the corners of the cover. Other than that your pin-up looks much cleaner than the pseudo-material look we have now, and it's actually pleasing to look at, unlike the current design which makes me want to close the app as soon as possible.
  22. I'm too young. I've never owned a vinyl in my whole life. I know they still make them, I don't want them anyways. I prefer CDs. But I still treasure the highest quality of the digital covers I can find. Vinyl scans of that period though… I hate that. Those albums never had a fully digital version of the cover to begin with. They're always scans, never enough quality. Kate Bush comes to mind, her first album with a digital cover was Aerial, all her previous albums only have scans for the covers now.
  23. Had you listed anything that the stable didn't have I would have cared. Actually, does the Play Store beta have any of these problems anyway? You didn't need to invalidate our collective opinion to voice yours, yet you did it anyway. I reciprocated.
  24. Fair enough, let's just ignore all of the 318 people who voted otherwise ? It looks terrible… It took me long enough to find all my covers for you to assume I don't look at it. Of course I don't stare at it the entire time but I do stare at it for like 30-40 seconds from time to time and this is very annoying. Again, let's ignore everybody else and fix what you want instead ?????
