  1. I think Poweramp is really the wrong thing to ask for this 'appearance-only' feature, this app is more focused on practical features and sound quality. Besides, PAMP v3 is very customizable as it is, it's just a shame that there's less skins available compared to its v2 days.

interesting enough, there are already music player with that coverflow style

one that I found is AlbumFlow Music Player which is unfortunately for Windows Phone 7 (a discontinued OS), and another one Milestone Music Player which is actually for android.

there's one trait both of these app share : they're both old as heck.

I think the screenshot for Milestone is from Android Gingerbread? like ~13 years ago (2011-2013) or so.

google searching for "Coverflow music player app android" return some results, but it's the same as well, many of the results point me to forums in around 2011-2013 with 2017 being the latest one, there might be others with newer dates that I missed, since I didn't dig too deep.

my guess is that the coverflow design is maybe just out of date ?

I don't think even the latest iPhone or iTunes have this kind of view anymore (unsure and unconfirmed, maybe someone with iPhone or use iTunes can correct me if I'm wrong).

but hey, I also think it's a very cool thing to have, maybe if someone would resurrect that kind of style with newer music player app, I'd be eager to try that app. Meanwhile, I just think that Poweramp isn't suited for it.

  2. I noticed this issue with Poweramp, the lack of tag-editing "capability".. I think? where all of the edits are in Poweramp only, when other app uses the audio file, the tag is still the old one, like it's not permanent.

it is convenient to be able to edit the song's tag from the player itself and have it changed permanently, but I see this issue has been a long one with Poweramp, even since before the v3 redesign with no sign of fixing.

at this point I already give up lol, I'd point out some other music player app with working tags but I don't know if it's against the forum's rules or not, besides I always find myself get back to Poweramp anyway. I always set the tag properly on my PC using mp3tag before transferring it to my phone, and if it's a file already on phone, I'm using AutomaTag.

  3. I have checked in the frequently requested features and was a bit surprised this isn't one already requested frequently.

Basically a feature request for statistics page that contains several informations like: amount of tracks/artists/albums/genres, total durations, how many tracks played this month, how many tracks never played, most played tracks/artist/album, time listening this month, time listening all-time, etc.

maybe also populated with some tracks from the 'never played' list with title like "Try these new ones ..."

would be nice to see my stats as I'm still using local files exclusively and can only stare in jealousy when my friends share their spotify stats lol.

anyways, thank you for all the hard work.

    HOOOOOOOLY SHIT, THANK YOU.

I honestly didn't expect to get this for free, I'm willing to pay for this visualization if you release it in Gplay

    THANKS.

  5. sorry for the newb questions, I'm a bit surprised that v3 has very little skins despite more versatile & more skinnable elements than v2, so I'm gonna try to make my own (no promises though lol, and it's probably gonna be so ugly it's just for private use)

    1. do I need programming / coding knowledge beforehand? or is it doable from scratch as a total beginner with some google-fu?

    2. what exactly do I need to use the SDK? what software to edit based on sample skin?

    3. do I need a buffy PC? I have a shitty laptop (8GB RAM and some AMD laptop CPU) that can run... uhh.. is a PC game a good benchmark? it can run DOOM 2016 on lowest settings.

    thanks beforehand

  6. 1. do i need the new equalizer app if i already have the music player app?

    2. how do i make custom built-in equalizer setup in Poweramp music player stays between songs? I noticed that the equalizer go back to normal preset once I change songs.

Like I first pick Bass-Extreme, then I modify the higher frequency ones, but when I play next song, the preset go back to normal Bass-Extreme, my modification is gone. How do I make them all stay?

  7. Wouldn't really mind it get put anywhere, maybe a new library menu "Statistics" or for play time in "About" screen is also good, but this is also a chance for a new homepage, showing some of your most played tracks/artists/albums, and maybe a button "Discover" or "Surprise Me" that will play a random song you never played before, heck there could be a new shuffle mode: "Discover" that plays all the songs you never played before.

  8. you know, most played/least played/never played songs/album/artists,

    and

how many hours I've been listening to music this day/week/month/year,

I wonder if they're possible? I don't really want to use last.fm since the android app is buggy anyway, it won't scrobble automatically, I have to start it manually. So it'll be nice if Poweramp have built in stats to see.

Maybe not very useful, but I think it's kinda neat to have

Sort of like the "Orb" visualizations you see on NCS music on youtube.  Which are mostly a stationary orb with pulsing to the beat of the music?

I think those are made in After Effects. I've been looking for those visualization style as well but no avail.

Hi I just bought this skin today and it's awesome specially the colours I loved it but I think there is a bug "the search edit font size" is not working in fact it automatically revert back to 0 no matter what what I chose. Here's a video of the problem https://youtu.be/DJWYUV1gTIw

I'm using ancient Redmi note 4 miui 11 android 7

    Latest Poweramp beta

try to tap at the desired position instead of dragging

Go to skin settings and choose an accent color
If you want buttons to be solid select a solid accent from skin settings (if the color you want isnt in the solid color options you can request yours, just share the hex code and i'll add it)
For the rest i'll check them for future updates

    nice, thank you

  12. A visual bug?

Also several requests if you don't mind

    1. Album scale for when play/pause state. Currently it's only for when playing, so if I set a smaller album art size, it'll get bigger if I pause.

    2. Ability to hide each element of vis/sleep/shuffle/repeat instead of just "all or none" option.

    3. Option for all buttons to be solid instead of gradient. Though I know the gradient is your style of choice, so I won't pester for this one request.

    Thanks

    Access allowed? What android version?

I'm also having this problem, I tap save, pick author - name, save. The app says it's saved, but the file is nowhere to be found... but I also don't know where it's saved, checked on Android/Data for the app's file folder and maxmp for Poweramp file folder, nothing.

Storage permission has been granted, Android 10, Redmi Note 8 Pro.

  14. Honestly, I don't know why you would want Poweramp on PC as there's already robust softwares on music player / management with lots of features and customizations that I think even Poweramp doesn't have. Similar to many apps on android will probably never have its PC port because there are already softwares for those same functions with more sophisticated features.

If you want some PC music software recommendations:

    - The legendary Winamp : https://getwacup.com/  <- Winamp v5.666 with community bug fixes.

    - AIMP https://www.aimp.ru/ <- solid winamp replacement, switched to it years ago and never looked back (my main music player on PC). Also has android port but it's inferior to Poweramp (in my opinion).

    - Foobar2000 : https://www.foobar2000.org/ <- music player and management software, super customizable, tons of features, and surprisingly very lightweight too. The only downside is that the learning curve is pretty steep to get used to it.

Those three are the main music softwares on Windows PC that I've used, there are more like MusicBee, MediaMonkey, iTunes (kind of a must if you own iPhone anyway), which I haven't tried.
