@andrewilley this is already changed/fixed in the current dev builds. Thanks for the investigation.

@SachinSachi thanks for the tracks, I added support for this kind of replay gain tags + xHE-AAC to the next build.

    Build 979:

    • added more state saving points
    • fix for No Reshuffle For Large Lists
    • generic replaygain_* tags now parsed for opus
    • replay gain support for xHE-AAC
    • updated translations - huge thanks to all Crowdin translators!

@ScarletNeko I've already sent him the xHE AAC files, and he's already updated Poweramp (build 979) to support the replay gain tag for xHE AAC files! ✌

    Thanks Andre and Fitzian.

I don't think the voting system would work to properly reflect the support for A-B Repeat. I estimate that many of the users who posted support for this feature on the forum are either seldom visitors to the forum or probably don't use or have knowledge for the Voting system.

A-B Repeat is certainly not a feature that requires significant change to the UX/UI or any major change to some audio engine.

The existing Bookmarks feature already marks a point A for songs, so it would be as straightforward as a developer just 're-using' this same code.

It could even be added as an Experimental feature that has to be enabled in the Settings.

My favourite feature packed audio player on Android and it can't even do A-B Repeat whilst the developer chooses to hilariously laugh at my request from 13 years ago. VLC, Neutron Player and other Android players have A-B Repeat cycle.

    C'mon man

Hii @haddy I totally get your frustration about the A-B repeat thing. Thirteen years is a long time to wait for any feature, let alone one that seems like it'd be a no-brainer.

But here's the thing: there's only one developer behind this music player, and they're juggling a whole lot of responsibilities. Imagine trying to keep up with bug fixes, new features, and other things, all while being your own tech support team. It's no easy feat.

Now, I'm not saying there's no room for improvement. The voting system is there for a reason, and it's how the developer prioritizes features. But comparing them to laughing at your request? That's a bit harsh, dude. This ain't corporate HQ with suits sipping champagne while ignoring emails. It's one person, trying to make the best music player they can.

I see you're comparing Poweramp to other music player based on the a-b repeat feature. I understand its appeal, but there's a reason many of us stick with Poweramp. It's got a lot to offer, and for many, it still is the best music player on the Play Store.

I can understand why you're frustrated, but let's try to communicate respectfully with the developer. We're all on the same team here. ✌

Woah, that was lightning quick! I just downloaded the latest update, and now replay gain tags are showing for xHE-AAC audio files. Thanks a bunch for fixing the issue so darn fast! 🙏

@SachinSachi Android decoder does not pass gain info to the calling code (Poweramp). I guess something can be added to support that, but I need a sample tracks (feel share with gpmaxmpz@gmail.com). Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I've emailed the xHE-AAC audio files to you. Hopefully, you can identify the issue and get it resolved. 👍

Just to clarify: I understand that Poweramp doesn't know whether the decoder is applying any gain but the part I'm confused about is why Poweramp is unable to read RG tags. Is metadata being read by the android decoder and then passed to Poweramp instead of the tags (including RG tags) being read directly by Poweramp? Is this why Poweramp is unable to read or process RG tags but is able to display title, artist, etc?

@maxmp @CrimsonSky  I've got a massive library of FLAC files that I want to convert to XHE AAC, but I'm a bit hesitant now. It seems like Poweramp isn't reading the replay gain tags. (By the way, I know Poweramp uses the default Android decoder for playing xhe aac files, but my question is similar to the one above: if it shows artwork and other tags perfectly, why isn't it displaying replay gain tags?) Is this a bug or lack of support at the moment. Will it possibly support this feature in the future? Thank You 🙏

That's precisely what I want to know as well.

I found that when I transformed the text in a random album, I mean if you try to transform the text of album name, nothing changed,Screenshot_2023-07-04-23-11-38-058_com.maxmpz.audioplayer.thumb.jpg.d5a9a960feb94aa798a7ccbd7b533837.jpg

In the picture, I have already transformed the Album text in the tags of music, but nothing has changed in the page of album,it seemed like something wrong with the case sensitivity with album text,

So if you transform the album text of every single song in the same album, still, nothing changed, the whole album still shows the text form before you do anything, and that is kinda ridiculous 😂.

If I want to transform the album text into upper or lower case, I have to change the album name at first and do a full scan after that, then I can change the name back and transform the case of the album text, finally, do a full scan again, the album text transform to the form I need.😂

How do you have blurred background in album page? What skin are you using?
