  1. Don't know if this would be possible, but it would be great to be able to export and import the eq preset assignments to individual songs. We can of course Backup and restore the song ratings with flyingdutchman's excellent Playlist Manager and export and import the eq presets themselves with Poweramp. If we could save and restore the individual song eq preset assignments then there would be no loss of time and trouble should something happen that requires a reinstall of Poweramp.
  2. For years, very often when I handle my phone while enjoying music with PA, I accidentally touch some area on the screen taking me off of the player main play screen. Most times it's the shuffle button then the next song surprises me by going away from the folder I'm listening to and play something random from another folder. The next most common is brushing the album cover and either going to the folder contents or next song while trying to enjoy the one I'm listening to. The shuffle button is the worst. It would be nice to have a means of turning off and back on the command buttons and gestures. I think maybe a two finger swipe across the album art would be very cool and would help solve this. Of course this happens the most frequently when others are enjoying PA with me. PA is so awesome!
  3. Ok, now that the star rating system and per song assignable eq presets are back, I have made the upgrade from 709 to 812 and I AM STUNNED! A truly magnificent product. Everything I do with PA works great. Even the "New Playlist Manager" app star rating backup and restore function works perfectly. All of my assigned per song eq presets flowed perfectly. The only thing I would like to see down the road is to place the song artist/album information anywhere but on the album cover. Max: just incredible! Thanks! Edit: I just found the alt view on the album info - nice!
  4. I've been holding back and using 709 just for the per track eq assignments. Very happy to see it's back now in v3. Question: I keep my presets backed up through the app and have over 2000 tracks all with individual eq assignments. If I update, will the individual assignments carry over? Also I backup my ratings with New Playlist Manager, the old version. How will that work with 812 v3?
  5. I Really like the new UI except for the label over the album covers. I am wondering WHY the star ratings and individual song eq assignments are removed. Is it impossible for V3 to function with these two features? This alone makes it impossible for me to use V3 as a daily driver. The individual song eq assignments are the number one reason I fell in love with PA years ago. Disappointing after trying out 793 to find these two features removed. Why Why Why?
  6. Build 705 has fixed the issues I was having on my S8 w/Oreo. Have no freeze, hi-res works and so does notification. I wonder if there would be any benefit for me to update to 706/707 since there was no mention of the S8 in the update notes?
  7. 705 opens with no Oreo issues and is everything I wished 703/704 to be! Notification works as well as HD Output. I'm a button kind of guy and although the new 790 is very cool I think I will now stick with 705 on my S8 with 8.0. Brilliant, thank you Max!!
  8. Does the 705 update fix the freeze/opening the app issues we encountered after updating to Oreo?
  9. Found a good workaround. Downloaded an app called "Kill Apps". It does a force close on all apps and can be set up to just force close on selected apps which in my case is Poweramp. In the app menu you can create a secondary icon when you're in the selected apps area that will force close the selected Poweramp app just by pressing that icon. Poweramp opens first time every time after doing a one touch on the secondary icon. If you don't want to set up the secondary icon, it works in the all apps mode as well. Hopefully I can uninstall this app sometime in the next 8 days when the new beta version comes out and fixes the issue. This may not work for all, but it sure works for me on my S8.
  10. Dooly, I'm sure you have tried what I wrote about previously in this thread, but just in case: On my S8 with Verizon Oreo update, if Poweramp won't open I restart the phone then before doing anything else open Poweramp. This has worked every time for six days now. When I first had problems, I was going through settings taking shots in the dark hoping to tame the issue. Only when I did a clean install of 703 from the play store running the default settings did things start to work. Maybe I just got lucky, but I'm not going to even think about working settings until V3 comes out hopefully next month. One other thing, to avoid having to restart the phone so often, I just don't close Poweramp so it's still open and ready to go. Just have to be careful not to select the close all button. Hope you can get things rolling and am interested to see if you can get good results.
  11. A couple of differences: You're on Oreo beta, I'm on official Verizon Oreo just rolled out late last week. Yours updated to 704, mine 703, why I don't have a clue. Mine opens fine about 80% of the time now and functions perfectly including proper notification function. It's doing better as time goes by for some reason. When it doesn't and goes to black screen, I just restart the phone and open Poweramp first thing and it hasn't failed me yet. Reading other threads suggest that when V3 is released, the Oreo issues will be resolved. If I were you and was on beta, I would definitely revert back to Nougat if a safe way to do it is available.
  12. Today my Galaxy S8 was updated from Nougat to Oreo. I've been running PA 703 on the S8 and on my old S5 without any issues. After the update, Poweramp would only open up right after a restart of the phone for a few times and now it won't open at all. I just get a black screen even after a restart. I backed up the presets and my ratings prior to Oreo update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Poweramp three times, twice through the Play store and once on this site. Onsite I tried version 704 but it does the same thing. Is Oreo a major problem? All my other apps are not affected. I'm hoping somebody with some Android savvy can give me some tips to get my beloved Poweramp back to a working state. Edit: The Oreo update is the official Verizon version. Edit: After doing what I should have and done a search, it looks like I'm far from the only one with Oreo issues. Reverted back to V2 and am back in business. It won't import my eq settings but another app successfully restored all ratings. Now I join the others who are waiting for V3.0 to be finished. Update: Forgetting I had automatic updates set for apps, Poweramp went ahead and updated itself back to 703. It has been working very well except that sometimes won't open and goes to black screen. When that happens, I just restart the phone and all is well. This happens about half the time. Before, it got to where it wouldn't open at all. I'm thinking (dangerous) maybe installing/updating on top of Oreo is a more compatible sequence than updating to Oreo on top of Poweramp. May be good until V3.0 now.
