From the screen shot, the bass is set too high, reduce it to 15% or 20% at most.
When listening to music with phone speaker(s), it is advisable to turn-off Equalizer because most phone speaker(s) are not capable to reproduce the power an Equalizer, especially the low frequency.
If you want to hear the beauty that Poweramp music player brings, use headphones or home theater sound system.
If you must use the phone speaker, it does not mean you must set the volume to max.

Dolby Atmos in Samsung galaxy phones has a way of making audio sound pleasing, example is when watching movies or using it with YouTube, you can hear the difference if you switch it on and off.
If you have root access, just make Poweramp a system app, this way you don't need to enable musicFX in Poweramp, it just works with Dolby, but have it in mind that adb Vol long-press will reset if you restart your phone, even play count will not be consistent.

@Pedro Simon Antonio Make sure dolby atmos is on, go to Poweramp settings, Audio - Advanced Tweaks, enable musicFX, after that, go to Poweramp equalizer page, swipe left to the volume page, you will see musicFX button, tap to on, long-press for eq setting.

@seffparker sorry about that, how did you move the app? I am asking because I did not struggle with it.
I back-up Poweramp, used sd maid app to locate where Poweramp is installed in user partition, move the folder to the system app partition, rename the folder for easy identification, open the folder and grant Poweramp apk permission, restart my phone, and that is it.

@Shafeer Painkal when I was using Samsung galaxy m30 with Android 10, I noticed this issue and reported it, then I thought it was the phone, when I got galaxy m51 and still had same issue, I concluded it is from Samsung firmware, but hearing it's also happening in poco, then it has to be from Android OS.
@maxmp please I sent you a direct message concerning root and sound quality and functionality of Poweramp, but you haven't replied, let me post it here.
my phone is Samsung galaxy m51, it will no longer receive Official android update from Samsung, for that, I decided to root it so I can uninstall system apps I don't use. In the process, I decided to move Poweramp to the system partition and I noticed that I got a cleaner sound, to be sure of what I noticed, I moved it back and forth, and I noticed the difference in sound.
So I'm asking if you are aware of this, and if there are any other settings I can change to further take advantage of moving Poweramp to system partition?
Thanks.

@Shafeer Painkal yes this issue has been for a while, I also noticed that Aadio sounds better when compared to Hi-Res but due to this issue of not resuming play back after some calls, I use Hi-Res output, or force stop the app whenever the issue occurs.

It does not work in my country.

Hello, I used ADB to grant Poweramp permission to change track on volume long press, but this permission is always revoked, my phone is Samsung galaxy m51 with android 12 (rooted) with stock Rom.
I notice this issue when I installed Poweramp as a system app which sounded better and loaded faster when I restarted my phone, but the button press keeps resetting, so I have to move Poweramp back to user partition, but the issue is still occurring.
Please what can be the problem?

Open the playlist and press the play icon instead of clicking on the song.

There is no setting for that, even your file manager will read such file as new. This is because, the file attributes (Information about that file) have been changed, likewise Poweramp sees such edited files as new.

I think PowerampPlus with the symbol + at the front and on the icon.
Then another thing to consider is, how will these 3 separate apps get the needed attention to be in their best?
If this update should be in Poweramp, incase the price of unlocker, but how to tax those that are inn? If you say donate, many will not, if we are asked to pay for extra features in the app, it will be double taxation which will defeat the purpose of full version unlocker, so for me, I am saying, abandon Poweramp and give me the +, gradually, the previous will go low.

@MotleyG Are you my brother? I had same idea

But I also thought about the name (Brand) Poweramp, changing it to something different will also affect things.

In-app purchase does not have to be a subscription. It can be one-time fee as well. So if adding on a major update for lyrics can be a $5 fee, hi-res $5, esoteric/niche format supprt $3, etc.
I am in support of the idea of a one-time fee for significant additions only. The existing platform should continue to operate and be supported as-is.
The recently added lyrics support is a prime example of an add-on that could have been optional, as I for one had absolutely no need for it.
I agree with you that in-app purchase should be a one time thing, but splitting cost for additional features will be cost effective, it will put so many people off, believe me, many have stayed with this app because of the one-time purchase and Steady update without additional cost, that's why you are seeing more users coming over, by the time you introduce multiple payment, bad reviews will start purring in, the app will be abandoned, we don't want that.
Increase the price for full version for new customers and little one-time fee for the old.
It's true that there are some features that we don't use, like the support for lyrics viewing, but sometimes one just have to try it out, so imagine paying for things like that, let any feature be, as long as there is an option to turn it off and it does not affect the smooth operation of the application.

Poweramp should get major updates, but when it comes to subscription, I am not a fan. We have been getting updates and improvements for years now, and most of us appreciate it.
If there is a major update coming to the app which will require additional payment, I will suggest it goes like this: If after the major update, Poweramp will cost $8, then the $8 should be for the full version unlocker without any in-app purchase, just like it has been.
For those that have the full version, the amount they paid for the full version should be subtracted from the current $8, then pay the balance if they want to continue using the app. I am against monthly or yearly subscription.
And it will make no sense to purchase full version unlocker, just to see another in-app purchase.

Are you really saying that customers have no right to get support?? Is it not normal for a customer support to be *always* friendly? What are you trying to imply?
@laxivey645 You are misunderstanding the point of @Fatih ALPTEKİN.
Customers have the right to a good customer support, but not all service providers offers that, so showing appreciation to one that has been doing it for this long is not out of place.
It's a moral booster for them to do more, see it as a win win situation.

Was just letting you know a way you can do it now.
I thought it was a taboo to suggest a walk-around for any shortcoming of Poweramp, especially if it has to go out of the main app? Why third party app now?.
We should be careful, and try to tolerate each other shortcoming.
16 minutes ago, MotleyG said:That’s what the extra skins are for. Many other player apps don’t have this option at all. But with millions of PA users, not all requests for changes are possible within the default settings.
You have spoken well, we can not have all we want in this app, I am not saying we should stop requesting for new features, but we should have it in mind that there is way more customisation in this app comparing to it's pairs.
1 hour ago, Alex_Smith said:Why would i need that? There is option to adjust transparency to navbar, why not to have same thing to pro buttons? They now look too different from all other UI. I like the native skin of Poweramp. The only thing i dont is these non transparent pro buttons.
I'm so sorry if it's bothering you that much, I also think that you should try the third party skin (I will suggest Aurora skin) at least for now, even though I'm not a fan of third party skin.

Should I have done a backup on the old phone first?
@Splungeworthy Yes, but it's not late, as long as you still have your old phone with the play list.
On the old phone, Poweramp- Settings- Export Settings/Data.
Select what you want, (in your case, play list only).
Choose a location you can access, then Export, after that, send the file to the new phone, then Import Settings/Data. Browse to the folder you sent back up, click, and you're done.

@MotleyG If you have a Samsung galaxy phone, some of their apps like My file, Phone, Gallery and Voice Recorder that has permission to delete files, all have recycle bin because they understand the importance of files, even if you have deleted it intentionally, there is a time frame to restore it.
Then talk more of deleting files automatically, with no recycle bin, that is drastic, rough play.
Some of us don't have backup, please don't break someone's heart.
If you have any file you no longer want, please delete it yourself.

I don't think this is a good idea for a music player to delete files automatically after playing.
Even if this feature may have a toggle, it will lead to losing of important files for some person who may not know what the function is.
I suggest you do this manually.

Is there a way to make the player stop doing the 'keep the screen always on' once bluetooth disconnects option ?
Yes, you can use Tasker to do that.
You have to create a profile in Tasker that will start music playback (with Poweramp) once a particular bluetooth device is connected.
In that profile, you also have to add Turn Screen On, and launch an app (which will be Poweramp in this case).
In Poweramp, you will set Always keep screen on in this app.
Back In Tasker, set another profile that will close an app (Poweramp) when bluetooth is disconnected.
This will give you what you want.

@maxmp I am not for or against the request because I don't know how it will affect an average user like me.
Most of my files are mp3, please how will I make use of this if it is implemented?

it's the list of track titles (as text) that I'm interested in, not half a screenful of what is basically .
I'm not saying that the art work should occupy half of the screen in that view, I'm saying, there should be a way to view it in full, maybe as you scroll up, the down page is revealed, and when you scroll down, the top is revealed, not just the centre.
-
@maxmp You are right on point with your response.
What got me with Oto music was how if feels like, the player is suggesting album and artist as if it is AI in realtime.
And the horizontal scrolling.
Showing you single(s) and featured in.
In Poweramp, the album art at the top of album view, is not shown full, the top and bottom is cut, I think we should be able to see it fully, either when scrolling down or up.

There is no problem if you turn off internet connection, as long as you still reconnect once in a while within the verification period, the connection doesn't have to be uninterrupted.
