ignoring small files

Also, just a suggestion, the playlist image should always appear for the playlist selection screen but, when playing songs from that list the play screen should only show the playlist image, when the individual song has no embedded art.

What do you think of my other idea? I second the motion for {playlistName}.jpg. Since this is inside the '/playlist' folder, there's little chance of collision. Further, we could also "invent" directives to override. In M3U, #EXTIMG could point to the playlist image. For WPL,
could do the same.

ignoring small files

I fixed it! I made the songs 1 sec instead of 1ms. Now, they play. They did not show up in playlists. So, I deleted the playlists, refreshed the library, put the playlists back and ... voila ... playlist cover art placeholders working wonderfully after 2nd refresh!

Yes, these short silent songs appear in the all songs list. When I try to play those small files manually, Poweramp says "Failed to play file!"
5. So, I have been trying to get custom playlist art to display and I recently found out that playlist art can be controlled by whatever is embedded in the first song. So, I created super small 1 ms files for each playlist and then embedded the desired album art. When I transfer the small files and playlists to my phone, I can confirm that the small files are there and that they are the very first song in each playlist. Unfortunately, Poweramp is not displaying those small songs in the playlist even though they are there and even though they are at the beginning of each wpl file. When I try to play those small files manually, Poweramp says "Failed to play file!" I have disabled the whole ignore small files thing (which should NOT apply to playlists b.t.w.) and rescanned but ... nothing. Are there some other internal limits I'm not aware of?

Playlist entries pointing to TRASH

Yes, but how do I make sure it's truly OFF?

Playlist entries pointing to TRASH

Oh my ... I had no idea there was a setting like that in Poweramp. I will try it but, still, I've been using Poweramp for years on the same phone. Why am I suddenly seeing this problem if this setting has been "too broad" all this time? NOTE: how do make sure I turn off the option "Auto-Find Music Folders"? It's not entirely clear whether or not this is truly off.
9. For years, I have been using Poweramp to listen to music and I am sure to continue doing so well into the future. On my PC, I record and mix music in a studio and then rely on GoogleDriveSync to put new and updated songs and playlists to the cloud. From my phone, I use DriveAutoSync to transfer that new and updated content to the SD card on my phone and then I use Poweramp to review the new content while I work out at the gym. All was working well until recently. When I update a song that is part of a playlist, the new version of the song does not become part of the playlist. Rather, the playlist points to the old version of the song in an Android folder called "trash". My research shows that the Android system does not have any sort of recycle bin so, how did this "trash" folder get there? Further, why are only music files appearing in "trash"? So, is Poweramp somehow creating and managing this "trash" folder? If not, does anyone with more knowledge than me know who might be creating and managing this "trash" folder? NOTE: I've also confirmed by looking at the playlist on the SD card itself and confirmed that the playlist does not refer to any files in "trash". That is why I think this is internal to Poweramp.

Playlist File Location

Keeping mp3 files from my pc synched with my phone (via DriveAutoSync) works wonderfully. When I go into Poweramp, all the new songs are there. I also keep wpl playlists int the /music/playlist folder. They get synched and they play awesomely but some people might be misled by the fact that Poweramp lists them but shows them as "not loaded". Rest assured, when you select them, the songs will be there and will play!

embedded album art

After spending hours on this, I solved it seconds after my post! Using ESFileExploter to show "new files", I deleted all jpgs from some "local" folder and ... voila ... everything is working again!
13. I read quite a few forum topics on this but I still can't solve my problem. I have artwork stored in each MP3 and they all used to display just fine ... for years. Suddenly, last week, a lot of my songs were instead showing a picture of my wife! How did this happen? I've deleted album art cache a few times I've deleted all JPGs in the relevant music folders but that only makes a different image appear. I just want Poweramp to go back to displaying the image embedded within the mp3!
