Maybe while you are at it, you can also ask Google Assistant to find you a better source for music that comes with the correct tags and Album Art already embedded.

No point in further discussion because what you say is to not make things simpler while also to stay outdated. Adding features, increasing functionality and keeping updated to new hardware/software is what makes people do their desired tasks easily.

I guess there will always be more than one way to arrive at the destination. In this case however, if the initial search turns up the wrong artwork due to missing or incorrect tag details, the only correction is for the user to manually add corrected details into the search. If that is required, the point being suggested is to first make the that same correction to the file tag information instead, then run the search again from the existing option. Now the file has better tag details and the correct artwork.

Besides this, I would think for the typical user of Poweramp, something like metadata and the associated tag fields would be an effort most are well aware of. Properly tagged music files are the only way the app can effectively manage a library with all of the categories managed correctly.

A normal user these days who doesn't know/doesn't want to do adding tags would rather do web search. Try doing it yourself. Tell Google assistant or voice typing in search box to show a particular album art and quickly select it. Done !

Poweramp uses tag information to connect a cover image to a filename anyway - although this is a fallback to using the filename directly. But results are not guaranteed, it very much depend on what the good old internet has to offer. That's why there is also the option of using a local Gallery image.

The best solution is to find a great image online (I use AlbumArtExchange.com) and then embed it directly into the audio file using a tag editor. If you use a decent batch editor (e.g. MP3Tag on a computer) you could also update the incorrect tags while you are at it.

Sir with all due respect what you said above might be good for those who understand certain things. A normal user who doesn't understand or don't want to do all those things would surely want a easy feature of web search just like the lyrics web search option which is already provided in the app.

I love Poweramp and appreciate your work but kindly think about the feedback it would be helpful and beneficial to normal users.

A even simpler solution would be for the user to properly tag their music before transferring it to their mobile device. And further, adding albumart at that stage removes the requirement for any player to do so.

Adding tags might be solution but in some cases a user might not be aware if information tags related to some songs or the user might not be satisfied with the album art shown with those tags. So the solution I gave would be better as web search gives many choices of selection and also the selected image can be searched for high resolution image. In current situation some images which are shown through tags don't have good resolution quality.

You purchased a product knowing full well it didn't have video playback, and are leveraging that fact to guilt the developer into adding it.

You could have used the trial software to determine that it didn't meet your needs as a video player.

I have purchased the Poweramp full version 7 years ago. And what guilt to developer are you talking about ? I have sincerely requested a feature to be added for which it's upto them to add or not. What's your issue with me requesting a feature ? Everyone (atleast full version purchaser ) here has right to request a feature which only benefits the app to be competitive and updated to new features improvement whether it's hardware or software related.

You're already on a smartphone, if the artwork finder already built in doesn't get you what you want, you can choose any image from your device (where you find the image is up to you). Certain services that make auto-filling tag and artwork easier, have prohibitions against commercial use, so they can't just be tacked onto Poweramp.

When search engines elsewhere do the job, Poweramp shouldn't have to become a search engine in addition to a local music player, IMHO.

Just like the lyrics search option, there are option to do web search or particular genius, etc sources for lyrics.

So for album art this can be possible so it can be convenient.

What your answer is if there is wrong or no album art for particular track then the user should first download it through web and then search and select the downloaded album art. This also adds extra images in gallery. Many people won't like to do this for each song.

Simple solution would be to add web search option which is fast method and doesn't need the user to download and set the album art while also adding extra non desired images in gallary to display.

Not going to happen I'm afraid, Poweramp is a Music Player, not a video or multimedia player. Try VLC.

    Andre

If vlc was as good as Poweramp then I wouldn't have purchased Poweramp full version. I know Poweramp isn't video player but like YouTube music there should be an option. Hope to see this feature added if possible.

  8. There should be an option to type and search album art on web when press and hold on the album art. Some songs or artists don't get their album art correctly by few tags or tracks with no tags so by adding search on web option manually like edit tags would be better instead of relying on some wrong album arts generated with incomplete tags information.

@cha0z_ On my (same-soc) S9+ it works OK for Pie update and I guess generally ROM/firmware/audio subsystem is the same, so it must be something with your settings. You haven't specified what output you use, though (BT or wired or else), and these are completely different outputs with completely different tweaks and issues (the wired output is own Samsung implementation which differs from any other OEM/stock Android, the bluetooth part is Google based with tweaks by Samsung).

Try settings / Audio / OpenSL ES Hi-Res Output / Restore Defaults

@maxmpThere is no option for wired headset hi res audio. Also even dvc and other settings had been tried but nothing happens. There is low sound at high volume and with medium bass treble gets too much low. Also tried all previous settings none work after pie.
