I don't have a lot of experience using playlists to know if this is an issue with single track files, but while using my CUE based .m4a (Apple AAC) albums, I noticed the first half second or so of the next song in the source album will trail at the end of the selected track when used in a playlist. Is there anything that can be adjusted to fix this? Thanks

"Melodi" followed by "Xelion".

Thanks Andre.
Did something change in build 950 that could have affected this?
I just noticed that this issue seems to have finally gone away in this build. I've reset my phone several times to check some of the old problematic images, and they look clear every time.
For the record, this was apparently the same issue - Max confirmed it was fixed as of Build 950:

Thanks for the updates!
Is there any way to add stylization, or at least a background to the new Poweramp (Builds 948-949) "Seekbar in Navbar"?
The Poweramp Dark skin has a background while Liv Dark is just showing a floating dot.

I reported an album art rendering issue a while back, I'm looking a bit further into it and here is what I've found:
The albums don't seem to be random, they are specific covers that I've noticed this happen to. (Also, see the notes at the bottom.)
How to reproduce the issue, enable both of these options in Album Art:
+Use 24-bit RGB
+Increase Resolution
1.) Find an album that displays the blurry artwork. (Album X)
2.) Select/hit play on the blurry album (Album X), then cycle to a prev/next album (Album Y). And hit pause.
(Leave it paused on "Album Y", otherwise the next steps won't work correctly.)
3.) Close Poweramp by minimizing and swiping it away.
4.) Re-open Poweramp, cycle back to the blurry album (Album X), and it should now displaying clearly in high resolution.
It might be a coincidence that the Windows properties of these blurry covers say "Color Representation: sRGB"
I tested last night on two older devices and couldn't reproduce the issue. It only seems to happen on my newest phone, a "Celero 5G".
I've attached three problematic album covers for testing:

The new updates are amazing! Thank you.

No, it should work on any supported Android versions, as long as you have sent the required external ADB command to the device.
Andre
Thanks Andre. I used an app called LADB to avoid plugging my phone into the computer (i.e. to avoid getting off the couch). I think the LADB app itself required Android 11. I'll have to use one of the PC methods and see if I can get everything working on my older devices.

@djdarko It already does work like that. e.g. I created a new file called ABC.jpg to the selected_artist folder, and on the next restart PA used that image in the Artists category for the band ABC (which did not previously have any user-selected art).
[Edit] Ah, re-reading what you wrote I think you are asking if in-folder images can be automatically used for Artists. Not really, as there's no guarantee that the user is using a regimented Artistname/Albumname/songfile.mp3 folder structure. I do in some folders for some music types, but not others. Just copy any such image files to Android/data/_com.maxmpz.audioplayer/selected_artist/ using the exact artist name as the filename.
Andre
Ok, it would be great if an option could be added to search/pickup "artist".jpg images that match identically to artist names in the library as I've mentioned above.
Alternately, having a custom folder (on the SD card) for the "selected_artist" "selected_aa" etc. images would be useful too.
-
Is there any way yet to force the album artist image automatically based on the naming scheme of images within the library folders?
So for example, the "Katy Perry.jpg" image within this folder would act as the manually "selected artist" image from the 3 dots menu:
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/_com.maxmpz.audioplayer/selected_artist/Katy Perry.jpg

@djdarko Poweramp can be equalized, but it requires Music FX activation (in Settings and MusicFX button should be enabled on the 2nd Poweramp equalizer tab). This is not obvious as double equalization in Poweramp + Equalizer + DVC won't work properly and this mode is only for users who understand that and can configure appropriately.
OK, thanks I got that working, I overlooked the Music FX button in the Volume tab. I was just curious too see it all enabled. I'll try the experimental Dump options to see if any of those other apps will work.

I finally decided to install this and check it out, I purchased this full app to help support your work.
Using Poweramp Equalizer 932
I tried it with basically every audio capable app I had installed, here is some feedback:
Spotify 8.7.34.1317
This was the only app I got it to work with, but one strange thing I noticed: it doesn't work for Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast. It works during the advertisements, but as soon as Spotify goes back to the main podcast stream, the Poweramp Equalizer spectrum goes blank and the settings have no affect on the audio.
I tried it with a couple other podcasts such as Kevin Smith's Smodcast, and that seemed to work normally.
I also tried the Poweramp Equalizer with these apps - but none of them seemed to work or show up in the "Known Players" list.
MX Player Pro 1.42.13
Neutron Music Player 2.20.2
Poweramp 939 (I enabled MusicFX and disabled DVC)
Smart AudioBook Player 8.2.1
USB Audio Player 6.0.7.4
ZXTune b5015 (thin)
I also tried playing YouTube videos with the Brave Browser (1.39.115), I'll experiment with the Dump Permission settings later.

Thanks for the update. Here is some feedback:
1. The icons in the library / list below the album/artist are dark colored.
2. Font Color lists "Primary Accent" twice, Liv Dark has that as "Default" on top.
3. The Black spectrum color seems out of place with the theme. It might look better if you can make it match the accent (pink etc.) Also, the knobs and sliders might look better with the accent colors instead of the light background coloring.
4. Is this a bug? I would think the left icons and the "Liv White" text would be pink to match the theme.
5. (No Image) UI Elements / Play Pause / Pause Icon Color seems to have no effect. It stays black with all options.
I hope that helps.
I will also send you some fonts that you might like to add.

I'm still experiencing this album art issue. It seems to only happen when 24-bit RGB is enabled.

I started testing this skin again. Here are a few issues:• Minimal EQ Thumbs are invisible (Or is this intentional because it's minimal? It's kind of difficult to use this way.)• Sleep Timer Icon is missing from Player UI• Metadata becomes darker and smaller after adjusting certain elements such as the Play/Pause Button Style or Bottom Bar Background Shadows. (This only happens while player is paused, and reverts to normal after you press play.)• The white highlight of the seekbar starts/ends outside of the seekbar background color. This might look better if you can make it overlap exactly the area of the blue part. Also, if you look closely when the highlight is on the far right, it creates a small dark gap between the blue and white area. It would look a lot better to fill that gap making it blue too.• Repeat Selection "Advance Category" Icon is kind of confusing. I would change it to >>> or something without the looping arrows, since this function doesn't repeat tracks, but keeps going through all of your lists.• The accent and background color settings screens have a delay when opening them and the scrollbar shifts in sizes while moving down the options. It makes it feel buggy.• There is a bug with selecting Fonts > Font Color and UI Elements > Background color, it seems selecting one, disables the other. Making it impossible to combine them.• When scrolling quickly down long lists, sometimes a random track becomes highlighted in the list for a moment. I've replicated this happening in Dais, but haven't seen it happen in any other skin. (It's hard to explain, I just thought I would mention this in case it's a bug.)Questions:• Is there any way to set the album and artist (Starboy, The Weeknd) backgrounds to match the other blue labels?• Is is possible to adjust the dynamic corner radius for the current track (Party Monster)?
-
Two unmentioned issues I've noticed are:
1. The metadata on the Player UI disappears if you go in/out of the lists while the player is paused.
2. Long pressing the play/pause button causes the track to reset (same as long pressing the elapsed time) BUT the seekbark becomes stuck and the elapsed time doesn't reset to 0:00.

@djdarko I can see noticeable difference between those rendered in Poweramp and standard gallery, tested build-922 Samsung@12.
Try to reboot phone once? Also are you sure these images are loaded, not some downloaded similar ones? Note that selecting image via Menu / Album Art may reduce quality slightly due to the recompression.
I reset the phone, but it didn't seem to make a difference.
I set my phone offline and cleared the album art cache. It's slowly reloading everything. It seems that the ones with odd resolutions might just take longer to render correctly.
Edit: Some are blurry again after being clear while scrolling through them earlier. Not sure what the issue is. The phone is still offline.

@djdarko what is wrong with the image? Can you send it (the original one, from your folder) for tests? Thanks!
It renders very blurry. Note: I have "Increase Resolution" enabled in the Album Art options.
Here are two examples to test,
2979x2979 and 1425x1425

2) The issue I could see with adding Artist to the Album Art selection screen is that PA currently searched for matches on the Song Title & Album Name, so the results are unlikely to be very suited to finding images of the artist or band.
Well by default Poweramp seems to set the last modified date album art as the default artist image. I just thought this would be a fast way of setting the preferred locally stored album cover as the album artist image.
-
I have two ideas that I think would make Poweramp even better:
Album "List Option" "By Path" or "By Folder Name"
This would be really helpful for putting albums in release order when two or more releases share the same year, but appear out of order due to their name.
example:
1969a - Yellow Submarine
1969b - Abbey Road
This would be extra useful for anyone (like me) who prefers artist albums sorted by year, but compilations and soundtracks sorted by name, as I keep those sorted with their date after the title.
example:
Gone Girl (2014)
Final Fantasy VII (1997)
Set as Artist Image
Also, it would be very convenient to add fast option to select an artist image.
The most practical (as a user) would probably be to add it to the album context.
example:
Thanks

I just bought the new skin, very cool and different from Liv.
One suggestion so far - would it be possible to animate the Play/Pause button to transform/morph when being toggled? It would look really cool if possible, it's the first thing I thought of when I pressed it.
Keep up the great work! And thank you for continued updates of your skins!
Playlist using CUE based albums has trailing blips from next song in album

I don't think that's the case. Otherwise the tracks would be truncated at the beginning when skipping into the albums.
Also, using the same CUE with foobar2000 and CUEtools, the tracks are played and separated correctly with no issues.
