  1. Finding an Android music player that has the same support as LMS has always been my goal... it just made perfect sense for how I want to access my music library. But mostly I stopped using LMS once I stopped using squeezeboxes.
  2. And this is why I long ago gave up on the genre/artist/album hierarchy and just switched to browsing by folder. If I can't go from say: Classical -> Beethoven, Ludwig van -> Symphony 7, then it just doesn't work for me. Funny, the Logitech/SlimDevices music server handled it fine almost 20 years ago.
  3. I assume with this change there still won't be a way to navigate (browse) from: genre -> artist -> album It seems like everyone thinks you should browse "genre"s by going directly from: genre -> album, but if you have many hundreds or thousands of albums, it's just not practical. That was part of my original request in this thread so long ago.
  4. +1 This is so obvious, it's surprising that Poweramp doesn't have this capability.
  5. If you go to the trouble of turning "Advance List" off, I would think that even in Hierarchy mode, next subfolder would not be "expected to be played".
  6. I would really not like to be forced to use album artist. Certainly fine as an option, but I like to know and navigate every artist on every compilation.
  7. A good, true "eyes free" car music player would be wonderful (I would pay good money for that). However, it would need to be more than just a skin, since it would need to navigate library via gestures and provide feedback where you were via voice announcement. I have an (old, nla) similar jukebox system in my sports car. With the top down in the daytime, I cannot see the screen. I certainly shouldn't be trying to read what it says.

I have also requested the ability to browse from genre -> artist -> album. It seems like many developers don't understand the use of genre with large collections. It should be possible to use it essentially as a filter on a normal artist -> album browsing session.
  9. It sounds like you want to go into: Settings -> Music Folders and choose which directories you want to have included in the music library.
  10. I currently have albums on my phone with MP3 "genre" tag set as "Classical;Horn", "Classical;Viola" and "Classical;WWQuintet". When looking in the PowerMP Library, these show under both the genre "Classical" and the genres "Viola", "Horn" or "WWQuintet". The embedded tag (eg. "Classical;Horn") is *not* shown as a genre. This part works well for me. The part that doesn't work is that I'd like to browse from genre -> artist -> album (eg. "Classical" -> "Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus" -> "Requiem, K626 - Hogwood"), but once you choose genre, you can only only choose albums.
  11. Just as a followup... it appears to already support "multiple genre" tags (separated with ";"), just not multiple artists.

I don't think you listen to "Classical" music
  13. Too bad there isn't an option for the sort order to be: Genre -> Artist -> Album -> Track
  14. I use drag-n-drop or Beyond Compare2 to maintain a disk folder image of my phone media, then use a straight sync tool (eg. SyncToy) to make it so. Working directly onto the phone is usually too slow due to the flash write speed.
  15. I fully recognize that there are many people with their own view as to how to navigate their music collection. But I have a hard time understanding why the default order isn't: genre -> artist -> album -> track (#)
