  1. @andrewilley You may be right and adding that global sorting option into main categories is not a big deal - depending on the implementation. Still sorting by "Year" or "Date added" is kind of static operation, i.e. based on static properties which are set once during library rescan. "Last time played" on the contrary will be a new property which should be updated dynamically in real time for each main category data types: files, folders, albums,... That means a deep integration into the player core functionality, more risky for possible new bugs, etc.
  2. I suggest to add local switches on the Recently Played screen - for ex. buttons above the list (Files, Folders, Albums) with Files as default setting, as described. Users who play something in shuffle won't use those switches and current functionality will be preserved for them. Users who play more folders and albums usually have corresponding sublists in the recent list. So if Folder switch was selected this option will be saved and Recently Played screen will provide a much shorter list of recent folders (without files): - Folder a - Folder b ... And that will be not just a visual tweak but very useful navigation shortcut to the particular folder. Otherwise I have to go to it via playing screen and menu/folder in it - my current usual steps. I understand that this improvement reguire much less efforts in comparison with adding a new sorting option "by playing time" into the main categories. You can build Folder/Albums sublists from the existing recent file list. Global sorting option would be useful too but that is much more costly in development terms. Thank you.
  3. @andrewilley Sorry, Andre, you describe the current implementation. This forum section is for new feature requests according to its name, and this is a suggestion to add natural grouping or sub categories to the Recently Played category. In my understanding that is doable and it will be a useful feature. Normally we can expect a resolution from @maxmp or Dev Team about implementation possibility and wether it is intresting to add such a feature. Thanks.
  4. @andrewilley Yes, it's the list of recent files and it's possible to provide direct navigation from that list to the list of containing folders or albums. File properties contain file path, i.e. folder, and looks like album link is stored too since we can navigate to it going from recent list to playing screen and then to its album from local menu item. That's why it's possible to built folder/album list from recent file list. Thanks.
  5. @andrewilley Yes, I tried to sort the Recently Played list by album or path and it doesn't make much sense for this particular list as it's still list of files but ordered not by time. That's why I suggest to add such a feature - to get time ordered list of Recently Played Folders or Albums and those lists should be built from the current list of played files - that feature will provide a history of played folders/albums and will add a new convenient navigation option, i.e. shortcuts for the scenario which I described. Thanks.
  6. It would be good to have grouping options in the Recently Played list: Files(or Tracks), Folders, Albums. "Files" should be the default setting for the list of recently played files as it is now. Pressing on the list item will switch to Playing Now screen with that track. Folders or Albums options will provide list of recently played folders or albums, that list should be built from the played file list. Pressing on the item in the folder list should switch to that folder in the folder browser. And from the list of recent albums we should be switched to Album browser with that album. I use "recently played list" quite often and in my usual scenario on the Playing screen I need to click on menu and then on Folder or Album, so Next/Previous buttons will switch tracks in the corresponding folder or album. Otherwise after coming from "Recently Played" the button Next/Previous switches tracks within recently played list. It might be useful to provide such grouping options for the Most Played list as well to get list of most played folders and albums. Thank you.
  7. @andrewilley Thanks for your help! Indeed Poweramp is powerful and user friendly))
  8. @andrewilley Thank you. May be it makes sense to have some voting counter for each of suggestions - hopefully it may help to prioritize new features development? I was going to add another suggestion about adding "Recently Played" or "Playing History" item to the Library menu. And maybe "Recently Played Folders" item too. Didn't find such a feature request in that list either. It will be a very useful feature in addition to the existing Most Played item. Now after playing the last file in the folder Player switches to some new folder, I guess the 1st one in the Folders list and there is no way to return back for ex via Back button - I have to browse folder hierarchy again to find recently played folder. Please advise should I add such a suggestion or it was submitted already before. Thanks.
  9. @andrewilley Sorry, didn't see it in your Frequently Requested Features Index List
  10. Hello. It would be great to have Favorite Folders item in the Library menu in additon to existing Folders and Folders(Hierarchy) items. Favorite Folders screen should have "+" button to start the folder browser to select folder(s) to add to the favorite folders list. To remove folder from favorite list user should select Delete from long press menu similar to deletion of Playlist item. It would be nice to be able to add a folder to Favorite Folders from the existing folder browser - via "Add to Fav.Folders" option in the long press menu on folder name. Thanks you.
  11. @maxmp Thanks a lot for your attention! It would be good to have a "deep partial" rescan with local scope on local Rescan command as described above. According to Andrewilley it's not deep as Full Rescan now. Sometimes I see other minor problems with tags not player related like typos. I usually correct them on PC but when I copy corrected file to my Android device I have to do full rescan to see it corrected. Thank you for the great player!
  12. @andrewilley You mean some auto rescanning procedure on file changes etc. I meant an explicit call to rescan from the user - i.e. from local context menu/ Rescan command. And that explicit operation shouldn't differ in deepness from Full Rescan operation from Settings, but it should be performed within the current scope: selected folders and subfolders - that's my understanding, otherwise it would be confusing from usability point of view. Thanks.
  13. @andrewilley Thanks for the quick response and your details. I understand the tags in such files might be coded wrong, maybe by some old tag editor. I copied that album from a public share about 2 years ago and had no problems with playing it on PC in AIMP. My point is that from the user point of view it would be good to process all such tags according to the system locale or to the Poweramp/ Library/ Scanner/ Non-unicode tags settings - not as plain 8-bit ASCII text. In my understanding that setting should set codepage for non-unicode tag strings. So it may be a bug because Poweramp didn't process tags according to the settings? That's how Neutron player processes tags - they don't have such non-unicode option in settings but with Russian Locale all those tags are readable. With English Locale they are not readable. Another possible bug is with local rescanning mode. If it named Rescan it should rescan the selected or current folder as deep as in full rescan - otherwise it's confusing. Thanks for your help!
  14. Hello. I see non-readable Album and Artist tags for some mp3 files with tags in Russian Win-1251 codepage. AIMP and Neutron players shows these files normal on the same device. Device: DAP Fiio M11 plus, Android 10 with Russian system locale, Poweramp build-945-bundle-play, Full version 64bit. I tried full rescan with Library Scanner setting for non-Unicode tags as Default and Russian(Win-1251) settings - same non-readable result in both modes. Please see attached zip file with mp3 file from that album and screenshots of Folder list, Track playing screen and Info/Tags screen for that file. I tried to re-save the tags in that mp3 file in AIMP player tag editor on PC. The original tags look normal and readable when I opened them in that tag editor. Then I replaced the original mp3 file on the Android device with that new re-saved version and then I run a local Rescan procedure on that folder - in the Folder view I clicked Menu and run Rescan option. After that Poweramp continued to show those tags in a non-readable way in the lists and on track play screen, but on Info/Tags screen the tags were readable. When I put the same re-saved mp3 file in a new folder, Poweramp scanned it and tags in that file were displayed correctly. - So there may be a problem with the local rescan procedure as it didn't replaced the tags in the scanned folder. It would be nice if you can add a correct processing for such files as this original one as these files are displayed correctly in AIMP and Neutron players. Thank you for the great player! 1-orig-mp3-bad-tag-in-Poweramp-and-info-tags.zip
