  1. The operation triggered by tapping on the Album Cover on the player screen is to show the song list that is currently being played. That has always been the functionality for Poweramp v3.

So if you are listening to a playlist, that's what you'll be taken to - so you can see the current song and what's coming up next. If you are playing All Songs, that's the list that will be opened. Or if you are listening to some albums (such as playing albums by an artist etc) then you'll see the current album's list of songs.

  2. File-based playlists include the full filename in order to differentiate them from internal ones. You can convert them to internal playlist format, but given this whole thread I really wouldn't recommend you try as you'd be back to square one again in terms of syncing.

There is a voteable Feature Request to mark file-based lists without using the .M3U extenders, but it's not very high up the polling order at the moment...

  3. Poweramp does not have an option to force Output rates to follow source content. You'd need to select a rate high enough for the highest resolution files you have, and then any lower content will be upsampled. Not all Android ROMs fully support high-res though, I don't know about your particular device.

There is a Feature Request for output-follows-source for external DACs, but that may not work for 3.5mm headphone jacks. You can vote for it here:

  4. Tapping the album art will take you to the currently playing Category type, which if you started in All Songs will be that one.

You can view a different Category by long-pressing (or use the theee-dots menu) and selecting, for example,  Album.

  5. Name.m3u would be the file-based versions, i.e. playlists saved as M3U formatted text files somewhere in your storage, named as something like "PlaylistFilename.m3u". Those would be the best versions to use, and should get updated whenever J.River changes the contents.

Anything without the M3U extender is referring to an internal playlist (i.e. existing within the local database only) and the only way those would get created again would be if you used the Import Playlists function (which as you know should never be needed after the first setup). They can also be caused if you import Poweramp backups via the Import Settings/Data function.

If you want to reconcile these to match with any recently changed filesystems you can use the Rescan/Resolve Playlists option in the Playlists category view, but much better to remove any non-M3U playlists. Then avoid using the Import function again at all, and just let the background scanner find the real M3U files on its own.

Occasionally a manual Full Rescan in Poweramp might be a good idea if you are continuing to use syncing software, which are never the most reliable when it comes to flagging updates.

  6. Looks like the same as before, you are not currently listening in a mode that supports different Categories - e.g. All Songs (which would be the default if you haven't yet selected anything else) or Recently Added, etc.

Tap the metadata info line (under the seekbar) until it shows you the current mode.

  7. I agree with seeing what happens if you turn of all the Auto Scan features in PA Settings=>Library=>Scanner.

It does sound very much like when your device reboots, the storage containing your songs is not immediately mounted and so is not instantly available when PA first starts to do its normal brief background rescan to check for changes. This it has to do a Full Rescan once the storage becomes available, and until then songs would not be playable.

This does seem odd on a Pixel though as it only has internal storage, and this sort of issue would normally be associated with external (SD Card) mounting delays. Your songs are not located on external (perhaps USB memory stick) storage are they?

  8. Personally, I think those top three voted items, along with a few slightly smaller options from further down the list, would make a perfect first 'themed' Add-on Bundle - offering a series of new features to control the look and feel of the Player Screen Interface.

    • Customise Title/Artist-Album/etc text
    • Customise the Player Screen buttons
    • As part of the above button options, include a button option to go to a simple flat 'Now Playing' list (which is the top ranked request)
    • Visual indicator icon when playing High-Res content
    • Metadata line choice to show currently-playing Category - e.g. "Playlist: <playlist title>" or "Genre: <current genre", etc.
    • A-B Repeat

I definitely feel that overall themes for each of the planned 'Add On' Bundles are the best way forward - and extra items which fit each theme could be added to them over time, so could start with just a couple of items.

  9. Max has replied in another thread that although very specific circumstances may allow a second website purchase to occur using the same email address (if the old payment had yet been processed for example) this is not by design, and the email address of one of the purchases would need to be changed by Support in order to allow both licences to work.

As you know though, Play Store licences can be used on as many device as you like as long, as long they each use the same Google account. Even if your device does not natively support Google services (e.g. Huawei phones) it is usually possible to sideload Google services and then the Play Store manually, and then you would be able to buy and use Play Store licence. It's a bit fiddly, but you'd only need to do it once per device.

  10. User-customisation of the overall Title and Artist-Album lines, plus the small metadata line provided in lists, is quite high up the new Feature Voting process (it's number three at the moment, behind adding a 'Now Playing' list and customisation of the row of feature buttons on the Player Screen) but anyone following this thread can add their votes here to express their interest:

  11. Right, so in general terms users should not attempt to buy two website licences using one email address. An email address is meant to be linked the to one specific User ID that was sent to that address. To get a second licence for use om a different device, the user should use a different email address.

    Andre

  12. I assumed it was allowed, so people with just one email address could purchase two licences so they can use the app on different devices - otherwise I would have expected the purchase process to fail when it tried to allocate an ID to an already-in-use email address.

@maxmp could you confirm if it's possible to use two separately-purchased website licences, using the same email address, on two different devices?

  13. Embedded artwork from within the audio file should still be displayed, but remember that any downloaded artwork needs to be stored the image file in a cache directory (named as  "<artist> - <album>.jpg" , or using Title is there is no Album detail) which may well have an issue with handling extremely long filenames (it is not generally considered safe to use filenames longer than 127 characters in Android).

See this Guide to find where to look for cached image files so you can check.

If the problem is occurring with embedded images though, that may need looking into.

  14. You are correct that a website-purchased licence is only valid on one device at a time. Google Play Store purchases can be used on any device on which the same account is used though.

For a website licence, you need to be using a web download APK file (not a Play Store download) and then use Settings=>Already Purchased? and enter the email address that you used for the purchase and the ID that was emailed to you. The device must be able to access the Internet when you do this.

If you have a previously installed version, please ensure it is fully uninstalled first.
