Personally I've always felt the Settings=>Library=>Queue=>'Start Playing Queue: Immediately' option should do as you ask. So if enabled, any action which adds something to the Queue should immediately commence playback of the queue, even if playback is currently stopped. It just seems logical to me, given the wording of the setting.
Another related thing which would make more sense to me would be if the 'List Item Click Action' choice was applied when clicking on the 'Play' or 'Shuffle' icons in lists too. Thus if the user has chosen to 'Play and go to Main UI', then clicking on the 'Play' or 'Shuffle' icons should (a) start playback and (b) also go to the Player Screen as requested. [Note to @maxmp - that menu wording should probably now say "Player Screen" rather than of "Main UI" in order to fit with new overall consistency]

@oskado You should see the same type of folder explorer when importing as you saw when exporting (access permission must be granted). What location where you trying to use? By default if you don't change anything, I think the backups go into PA's data folder, Android/data/com.maxmpz.audioplayer/files/ . File explorer apps can see into this folder up to Android 13, but from Android 14 onward Google's restrictions mean you might have to use a USB connection to a PC to view the contents. Did you check the backup file was present before resetting your installation?

If you have a backup then you can restore from that, or you could copy back from your original master copies on a computer perhaps? But otherwise, unless your device has a Recycle bin for files deleted from apps, then unfortunately overriding the warning prompt and opting to Delete Files rather than just the deleting the playlist entries is not reversible.
If the files were on an SD Card, you might be able to use a disaster recovery program on a computer to find and restore the deleted content, but try to avoid writing anything new to the SD Card in the meantime.
@maxmp Perhaps the wording in the warning prompt could be changed slightly to reduce the chances of this happening inadvertently? Suggest a tickbox to confirm file deletions:QuoteRemove Entries?
Selected entries will be removed from the Playlist/Queue. Song files will not be deleted from storage unless you confirm below.

In the meantime, you may find that enabling Settings=>Look and Feel=>Start at Library goes part of the way to solving your problem. There will of course always be some 'top' level where the Back buttons exits the app back to the Home screen, as that is standard Android behaviour. Some apps provide a warning prompt before exiting, but as PA remains functional in the background and can be restarted with a tap anyway, it doesn't really seem necessary in this case.

AutoEQ parametric settings tend to assume Cascade mode I believe, whereas for some other adjustments it may not be desirable.
I would suggest the value the user defines in Settings should be used as the default, but it would be nice if each EQ Preset had the option to override that mode if required (e.g. in the AutoEQ case).

@flyingdutchman Yes, that was the workaround discussed in the other thread.
By the way, does your app allow for background re-syncing - for example when a new album is added to someone's library, or when a rating is modified in PA and needs writing back to the audio file? Or is it a one-shot proceas that would need re-executing manually every so often?

The exported backup file should be in the format <date and time>.poweramp-settings . Check that you can find this with a file explorer app first. When you know where it is, use Settings=>Import Settings/Data and tap the 'Select File' link at the bottom of the Import page, then navigate to the location of the saved file and tap on it. Choose which elements you want to restore, and tap 'Import' to set it going.

Poweramp's ratings are internal to the app's local database - i.e. you can create them inside the app only. They are not read from, nor written back to, audio files.

There are buffer settings in the Output options. However as Poweramp is designed for local file handling, and one of its goals is low latency, the options are measured in milliseconds to smooth out processing delays, which would probably not be enough to compensate for a flaky/disconnecting wi-fi link. You would be looking more for a buffer that goes on to pre-load a significant part of the whole song after playback has commenced, which is not currently a PA feature. I'll move this to Feature Requests.

I don't see the specific problem you are encountering when shuffling very large M3U8 playlists, but it is definitely not behaving as expected.
@maxmp When I try to play a huge (17,000+ song) M3U8 playlist in Shuffled mode, playback commences from the start of the list, in normal order rather than randomly. Trying to then tap a new song from elsewhere in the list causes playback to return to the last song played again, and then it continues in order from there. I can send you a log if you can't duplicate this effect.
@maestro30k For now, a workaround would be to convert your M3U8 playlist files into internal database format playlists, which you can use in the meantime. Just long-press on an M3U8 playlist, select '+Playlist' from the pop-up menu, and use '+' to create a newly named internal playlist containing all the same songs. This should allow shuffled playback when desired as the shuffle problem does not seem to affect large internal playlists.

I think it will probably happen in some form at some point, but there's potentially a lot ahead of it in the wishlist that might have wider user-base appeal. Keep on up-voting it anyway.

If there are multiple occurrence of the same tag (e.g. two ARTIST tags in a FLAC/Vorbis file) then they will both be displayed, with a semi-colon separator. That is by design, and it is why two tags were saved inside the file in the first place. You would need to edit the tags to prevent this.
Ideally every audio app should support split tags, and/or multiple tags, but not all do.

What sort of Playlist is it? File-based (e.g. M3U) or created internally in Poweramp using the '+Playlist' facility?
Can you use the '>>' button to skip manually to a new song during playback, and if so what happens when that song finishes?
Can you scroll down and play individual songs within the playlist?
What does the track counter show? It's in the middle of the line of four buttons under the song info (may need to be made visible using Settings=>Look and Feel=>Player Screen=>Show Track Counter) and should start at 1/xxxx - where xxxx is the total number of songs in the playlist. The counter should increment with each new song played.
I've just created a new playlist with 18,000 songs (created from everything in my 'All Songs' list, added twice) and tapping the Shuffle icon in that list's header results in random songs from the list being played as expected, with playback moving on to a new random song at the end of each one.

Just scroll down the Presets list (centre button under the sliders/spectrum analyser area) and choose Parametic default.
Or choose any of the supplied parametric presets (indicated by an icon of two small round knobs in the list, rather than two small sliders) as a starting point and tweak from there.

It is far more usual for parametric equalizers to offer less bands than graphic, as each one is more flexible - routinely 4-7 bands, perhaps as many as 10. Poweramp's 64 bands is already pretty excessive - double the maximum of 32 bands for graphic mode for example.

Not sure what you mean. Only cover art for songs with the same Album Title and Album Artist tag details should pick up new cover art that you have chosen.

Make sure your audio files are properly tagged if you want the automatic download system to ne able to find suitable images.
Ideally it's better to include the cover artwork images within the embedded tags if you are able, using an external tag editor program.
You can also use images from your own device's Gallery if you wish (select them in the long-press=>Album Art menu option for the song).

Just uninstall 981 and install the current version from the Play Store. Not much point though, 981 doesn't have any particular reasons to avoid that I'm aware of.
