  1. @maxmp - Many thanks for finding that switch and posting. This did sort it for me! 🤩. After that I could even reload all album covers and the playlists. Just for your reference: it create 3, sometimes 4 versions of all playlists, so I had to delete those spare ones. And I found that titles and artists etc where displaying fine in the albums, but in the playlist, the player hardly recognised any of the covers nor track info. I have to manually click on each track, view the info/tags where all the info is there, click edit and then save before it displays the artists and track etc. Its peculiar as in the Album it is all ok, and the details are all there...Well a small nuisance compared to not having any playable tacks / no playlists. Thanks again to you and@andrewilley for responding and sorting. Fabulous team and fabulous player! So happy to have it back and made a it a 5 star on google play!
  2. @maxmp @andrewilley - thanks for your response. I sent you the log and let you know via DM the email address.. I also copied the files to the internal storage and no luck. now I have all files twice without info, album covers etc etc. And I seem to have lost all the content of all my playlists - 29 in total. So if you can help in any way would be good.
  3. Hi All, this is getting too painful to be true: none of the above suggestions worked for me. Neither with or without legacy mode. Full rescan, permissions, Samsung special whatever. I tried it all and nothing works. The thing does not play files from the SD card. I finally backed up all PA files, uninstalled, reinstalled the whole thing, assigned the folders to look for music and granted permission. It found all 5000+ music files. It said so during the scan. And I can see them all even though without album art. Yet fails to play a single one of them from the SD card. None whatsoever. Also, I tried to restore any playlist , album art, nothing, nada, can not restore.. its a mess. A complete mess. Does not work. Will not work. Won't work. SUPER FRUSTRATING. Can you help pls? This maybe not your fault and an Android thing, its pretty sad though. PA is the best music player in the world for Android if it works. But if it does not....what is the point of it? Can you at least say whether you are planning to work on a fix? WHen that might be (apprecaite it might not be fully predictable)? Or is that it? Should I look for another player?
  4. @Cold heart stranger - what does it mean to run in legacy mode?
  5. Thanks Maxmp, I was not aware of the permissions being removed by Samsung. Thought I checked the app permissions and PA has access to all files / folders. Besides I use it every day. Until it simply stopped finding the files. Really strange. Am I the only one with that issue? Or is it a complete re-install.....? Not keen as last time I think I had to do that, it took a while to get all the album covers back etc. Maybe the backup will sort this?
  6. Thanks Andre for swift response. Looking at this closer, PA can not access any files on my SD card - it was fine doing so until the 19th Jan when this thread started. I have done a Full Rescan. that did not fix the problem, only created a complete mess of album covers, artists etc. It now only recognises the album title and that is it. Dilligently flicking through the files until it thinks too many of them failed to continue. Before the rescan, those seemed "fine", but they are a mess now. I vaguely remember this happening before a few years, but can't remember the fix. I think it was an update / bug fix that did it in the end. What I do remember is that I was without the player for quite a while and about to give up on it and that it was a real nightmare to get album covers etc back. VLC seems to play them fine but PA is a much better player. Real shame as the app is brilliant otherwise. Any suggestions what to do? Complete re-install with backoup of playlists / ratings? Would be grateful for your advice.
  7. Same issue. Since Thursday, it no longer plays some of the most recent files. Older ones seem fine. VLC player still plays all of them OK. I am on Android 13 but since November. So strange this happens. Got a full version. Updated the app to latest o play store. Still the same issue. Have not dared full rescan as I don't understand what I loose ( my playlists?). And reading Bove, this seems not to work. Are you working on a patch? I really live this app and would love it to work again.
