  1. Important update: I recovered an old phone that I didn't use for a year at least, so all the apps were outdated. It also had an old Poweramp build (build 911), and when I tried to cast what did I discover? Casting works perfectly everywhere! I tried opus, flac (mp3 not yet) and three different devices (Chromecast Audio, Home Mini and the 1st Google TV). Now I'm sorry to be blunt, but after more than a year of being told that it's Google's fault, discovering this is very frustrating. That an old build of Poweramp works perfectly whereas the current one never does leaves no excuses, the problem is somewhere in the app's code. I believe this information could help pinpoint the responsible update and correct the bug, but I won't get my hopes up...
  2. For me the situation has remained very stable, in that it has never worked for all this time Also, it may mean little, but I just installed this player, and casting works just fine. This seems to point to an implementation problem, rather than a server/backend one
  3. Honestly, this situation is becoming absurd. I love Poweramp and it's the best player for Android, but now it's more than a year that I can't use it on any Chromecast I tried with different phones, different networks and various different cast devices, with no success. There must be a common factor but it seems impossible to find Just to recap what I tested: - A stock Android 11 Pixel 2 and a rooted Lineage OS 18 Huawei - A Home Mini, a Chromecast Audio, a Chromecast 1st gen, a 2nd gen, a Google TV - 2.5GHz and 5GHz wifi networks - FLAC, MP3, Opus formats Not 100% of these combinations were tested, but every time Poweramp could connect but the actual playing didn't work, the slider went on for a few seconds with no sound then it reset back to the start position I fear I'll have to find a new music player :(
  4. Right now I'm away from home and I won't be able to try until Friday, however I remember playing with the sample rate and bit format without success. Also if I remember correctly, the Google TV Chromecast is connected to my 5GHz network while the others are on 2.4GHz. I don't know which network my phone was on because I use them interchangeably based on the room. What made you think it could be a problem of Wifi band? Did you have any problems?
  5. I have this issue too, it's at least three months that I can't play anything with Google Cast, presenting in a similar way to @Bruno Lebel. It happens with different codecs (flac, mp3, opus) and on different devices, these are the ones I tested: Chromecast 1st gen Chromecast Audio Chromecast with Google TV My tests were done with a Pixel 2 XL and an old Huawei, both with Android 11 and updated Poweramp. I also tried to read Poweramp's log (from Send Log via Email) but I saw nothing interesting as far as I can tell. I'm thinking there are two separate problems here because for me the situation never changed, as it would if the problem was server-side. I can try and setup ADB to collect some logcat, but I'll need guidance
