  1. Is your music on your PC? Wouldn't the easiest solution be to just download the art on your computer and save it in the music folder with your songs and name it cover? I assume if it's on your computer, you're using a folder hierarchy... Album Artists/Album/Songs.
  2. This request goes back at least 3 years. It seems like it would be pretty easy to do. Every other music app I use has it. What reason could there be for it not being implemented? So many other things being added, but how many people have asked for some kind of lyric nonsense compared to this. Maybe the developer would like to respond with the reason why he refuses to add this? Curious minds want to know.
  3. Personally I'd like to see the Artist - Album line split. There are three lines of information... Artist, Album and Track. Why do all Android music players insist on merging two of them? The only one I've found that let's you set it up correctly is GMMP.
  4. In the event that I do use PA, will the equalizer in the app and the standalone equalizer conflict with each other? Does the app override the standalone? The standalone is always running in the back ground for when I use GMMP.
  5. I gave this a try and the warning went away. Thanks. The overall volume did increase a bit though. As long as I can control the volume via the phone and not the headphones, I don't mind. The volume switch on the headphones acts a bit wonky sometimes, so I don't like to touch it any more than I have too. Also, I don't use Poweramp very much. I prefer the interface of GMMP, but the equalizer for PA is better. That's why I bought the equalizer.
  6. I already have Poweramp and I've just purchased the equalizer to use with Gonemad Media Player. Normally I use wired headphones at work, and in my car I plug into the headphone jack. This morning I used Bluetooth with my Sennheiser HD1 over the ear headphones. I opened the equalizer and there's an alert about "No DVC for Bluetooth Absolute Volume". Clicking on it brings me to the setting, where it's already enabled. There's a warning about disabling the absolute volume and clicking on it brought me to the setting, which is already disabled (see screenshots). What gives? Any ideas? If it helps at all, I've got an LG V60 ThinQ 5G running Android 11.
  7. Fact, not opinion. "Gonemad has more friendly features, like if you shuffle a bands whole folder it will shuffle that folder, but if you pick another album folder and pick a song, it will not shuffle that folder. It will play the songs on that album, in order, starting with the song you picked. Whether it was the 1st song or the 5th song. It will only shuffle when you pick shuffle. Poweramp makes you turn shuffle on and off all of the time." Fact, not opinion. "There are more options in Gonemad" Sound options, yes. I'll give you that one. But for how the player can be setup to navigate and look, no. Fact, not opinion. "...and it's way more customizable." Fact, not opinion. "Also, it doesn't have to rescan your library every time you add new music. People will say "So what, it can do it automatically", but if you're shuffling a 10 CD set, the scan will screw that up, and it will start shuffling just the songs on the particular album that happens to be playing at that time. And only those songs." I get it, you're a Poweramp person. But Gonemad Classic is a better choice. Poweramp is a fine backup player, but if you're only going to have one, it's not the one to have.
  8. I understand that I'm in the 1/2 of 1% of the people who keep a tablet mounted in their car to use as a stereo / GPS. Sure, I could use my phone, but there's no denying that an 8" tablet with a 4:3 aspect ratio is much better. Anyway, I forgot to mention that you can use a split screen in Gonemad. This way you can do all of your navigating on the right side while what you're listening to is displayed on the left. You can set up a gesture where you can just single tap the artwork on the left to bring you back to the folder you're listening to on the right. Or double tap the artwork to play a random album. That's how I have it, at least.
  9. What part of this is opinion? "Gonemad has more friendly features, like if you shuffle a bands whole folder it will shuffle that folder, but if you pick another album folder and pick a song, it will not shuffle that folder. 10. True, but as the original poster mentioned ripping a few dozen CD's and buying music from Google Music, I assumed that Hi Res Flacs probably wouldn't be anything for me to consider.
  11. While this will make me wildly unpopular, I think you'd be better off with Gonemad Media Player Classic. Make sure you get the Classic version as the new Version 3 is terrible, in my opinion anyway. Gonemad has more friendly features, like if you shuffle a bands whole folder it will shuffle that folder, but if you pick another album folder and pick a song, it will not shuffle that folder. It will play the songs on that album, in order, starting with the song you picked. Whether it was the 1st song or the 5th song. It will only shuffle when you pick shuffle. And only those songs. Poweramp is OK, but after I bought it several years ago, it wasn't long before I was looking for an alternative. When I bought Gonemad, I knew I got the perfect player. For me, anyway. Poweramp 3 is a lot better than 2 ever was, but it's still not as good Gonemad Classic.
  12. Yikes. I guess I'm a bit anal about making everything just so. My library is a bit larger, though. 1.58TB as flacs converted to 581GB Q9 OGG Vorbis for mobile. For me, folder browsing is an absolute necessity.
  13. I always resize all of my album cover art to 500x500, whether it was originally 600x600 or 3000x3000. And don't embed your art into every file. That's a massive waste of space. Just put it in the same folder as your songs and name it "cover" (without the quotes). Even at that size my "Cover Art" folder (yes I have them all backed up on 2 HDD's) is 456 megs containing 4800 files. Imaging how much space that would be just for artwork if every song had embedded art.
  14. If, as Andre has suggested, the problem is with your tagging, and as long as you have Windows, a great free tagger is MP3Tag. Here's a screenshot of how I have my tags. Note that the "Album Artist" is Various Artists, while the "Artist" is the name of the individual band per song. Also, if you haven't already, add ReplayGain tagging. Foobar 2000 can do that. Look up how. Hope this helps.
  15. Is this a compilation album? Your best bet is to put all of the various artists folders into a main folder called Various Artists and then use folder browsing.
  16. They both do things the other can't as far as playback is concerned. They can both have a user friendly interface and still be different under the hood.
  17. It's required because the alternative makes it's too easy to accidentally hit it and change the album. Ideally it would be removed altogether. I'm not trying to compare apples and oranges here, but Gonemad's interface is extremely customizable and displays only the information I want to see exactly how I want to see it
  18. Gonemad Version 2 has way more options than Poweramp and the interface is infinity more customizable. It's also much easier to use because the settings are set out in a much more logical way. There are no small print subsettings that require long presses or drilling down. For example... in Poweramp, to enable the +/- 10 seconds "Pro Buttons" you don't just have to go into the Skin Settings, pick the "Simple Seekbar" and turn on the "Pro Buttons" like you would think you would... no, you have to also have to go into the "Library" settings (why in the hell is this in the library?) and turn it on there, but then you have to also change the "Per Track Progress" slider to zero. There is absolutely nothing logical about that. It only adds to the frustration to a convoluted mess.
  19. It would be nice if the Artist & Album didn't share the same line separated with a hyphen. The whole "Artist - Album" thing doesn't work so well with bands like The Voluptuous Horror Of Karen Black, Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer and Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble Of Shadows. Ideally it would be... Artist Album Track
  20. I'm using the Dark built-in skin and I have Main Screen Background disabled so I can have a plain black background that's easy to see in the Now Playing screen. Are the built in skins customizable?
  21. Now I feel like an idiot. I'm used to Gonemad Ver. 2 (which is great) and Pulsar+ (which I'd definitely NOT recommend). Thanks.
  22. With an all black background, the "just a shade lighter than black" progress bar and marker are almost impossible to see.
  23. Add the option to change the total time to time remaining.
  24. Somehow, and I'm not sure how, I was able to have the player go back to the album songs when I hit the artwork. The back button brings me to the list of albums in the artists folder and hitting back again brings me to my hierarchical folders list. This is how it should work. I'm not sure how long I spent trying to get it to do that. I must have somehow weaved my way through the labyrinthine maze that is the convoluted mess known as "Settings". I did it on my new phone that I bought. I reset my old phone to its original state and installed Poweramp on it to use as a dedicated music player at home. After spending at least half an hour wading through the quagmire, I still wasn't able to accomplish this seemingly impossible task. When I hit the artwork it brings me to a list of every song in my library and the back button brings me back to the library where I have to hit "Folders Hierarchy" and start over. I've even tried exporting my settings from my new phone and importing them in my old phone. So how does one achieve the impossible goal of going back to the album songs, then the artist album list and then the list of artists folders? Somehow I've managed to do it once. No other player I've ever used has made, what should be the default way of working, into the 13th labor of Hercules.
