  2. Afaik, there is no way to manually choose a track's embedded album art as the artist image.
  3. Hey, had a search about in the forum and this seems like the closest match to the issue I'm having getting PA to work the way that I want. I'm in the same boat as taxen23 was in that I can follow what you're saying to do in the UI with regard to changing the artwork, but there's no 3 dots menu to access any further options. All I get is the ability to select an image online or a local image. (The latter which I don't have and don't really want to have to go downloading / extracting duplicate copies of album art that I already have embedded) I don't know whether its a recent Android change which restricts access to the cached artwork files mentioned earlier in this thread, but that option certainly doesn't seem available to me. All I want to achieve is the ability to choose an artist image (visible in artist and album artist lists) from the album covers which are embedded in the .mp3 files. Typically I just want to be able to set the album artists' earliest album as their artist image as this will be the most memorable for me to allow for quick browsing. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

  5. Just out of interest. I'm not sure what kind of timeline you're on, but "touched soon" and we're almost 4 months down the road...any idea when exactly? Cheers! 🙂
  6. It does sound like this is an issue with HyperOS. Perhaps their latest update is not supporting the DUMP permission? I assume you've all tried uninstalling the PA EQ app and reinstalling it, and then running the ADB DUMP process again? It is a slightly hacky workaround to be fair, the real answer is that apps should announce the fact that they are playing audio and that other apps are permitted to access it for making adjustments. Very few app developers seem to add those simple two lines of code into their players though (in Poweramp it's user-configurable, controlled via the 'MusicFX' button), hence the DUMP permission hack which tells Android it can override what the audio player app is saying (or not saying). Andre
  7. I have AA on a Motorola that works with google voice in both my 2010 Mustang (old SYNC) and in my new 23 Maverick. Hands free Google voice works great in these two Fords. I have a new C8 and cannot get Poweramp to use google voice commands. The music plays on my car through my phone and I can use the hand controls to advance ot the next tune etc but if I as "Hey Google Play Gimme Shelter by Poweramp" which works on both my Fords with AA I get a response from google that Poweramp needs to be installed??? Installed Where. On my car I cannot install Poweramp on the unit using Play store - not displayed as on option but it is already on my phone. How does this work on other Chevys??
  8. Same here too , I'll already configured dump premission, but audio processing it's not functioning well. Tested on poco m5 with hyperOS too. Please fix it ASAP @maxmp @andrewilley

  10. Features are limited only by what the app developer chooses. Infrequent updates are also based on the developer's schedule. Not Apple's. There are almost as many restrictions now on Android as there are within iOS. But there are millions of users out there that could benefit from a better experience. Currently the only real options on iOS are Neutron and more recent player BTR AMP. I use both devices and have always expected at some point Poweramp will get ported. I highly doubt this will impact development on the Android side nearly as much as Google has done recently.
  11. I can understand it might be frustrating that a $1500 DAP and $1500 "sounds bad" you're kind of on an island where likely no one is going to have your setup 1:1 to troubleshoot. We here just try to keep folks away from overzealously chasing numbers and stats. If you're not using any EQ/DSP, the precision/sampling rate shouldn't really factor in much anyways (384kHz vs 768kHz). In contrast to UAPP and Neutron, Poweramp has a set output rate that everything must go up to before it reaches your device's DAC. If you have enabled SoX resampler in Poweramp, that process is going to be as transparent (or error free) as you can get. If your library is mostly 44.1kHz content and assorted DSD files, setting an output rate inline with those (44.1kHz, 88.2kHz, 176.4kHz, 352.8kHz) is appropriate. I DO NOT THINK SAMPLE RATE HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR BAD SOUND ISSUE. THIS IS JUST "THE MORE YOU KNOW". See the above feature voting request that would bring automatic sample rate switching to Poweramp.
  12. @maxmp Poweramp is the best music app on either platform and you are the best music app developer of this age overall I believe. With closed environment like IOS, yes you can port Poweramp there but with limited features and infrequent updates. Poweramp is the sole reason why many of us are sticking with Android phones. I'd request you rather stay in android world and develop this amazing app further. As @andrewilley rightly said, the list of frequently requested features is quite long 😉. I know even if your involvement is 10% only with Poweramp for IOS, your focus will be diverted anyhow. Stay here 🙏
  13. Fair enough. I didn’t know if that was part of helping identify the issue, which is that it sounds bad. If it sounds great, I’m not too concerned about the numbers.
  14. First, Poweramp processes all audio in stereo PCM (32/64 bit). It does not pass any formats through natively, they need to be converted to PCM first. So no native DSD I'm afraid. And as for above 768kHz? That would make a great app for annoying bats I guess, but I'm not sure how much mainstream traction such a feature would attract. As far as I know, 384kHz is the highest you'll get. Andre
  15. Has it occurred to you that if you keep asking the same question, you'll most likely get the same answer? Android apps are meant to identify in their code whether they want their audio output to be able to be managed by external apps, and if they don't then the content is not meant to be processed. Using the DUMP permission (which is something of a hack) expands on that number, but there will still be apps which don't even identify themselves as playing audio at all, which the PS-EQ won't touch. If an app can be equalized though, just select it from the Known Players list and it should work fine. Andre
  17. I second this! It annoyed me so much as it "has" to attach itself to a player and if it can't, it just won't work, which made me ultimately use a different one. If they just added this I'll move back, but of course the developer won't do because they don't have to listen to any feedback etc... I've tried email but they just keep giving me the same copy paste email response 👍
  18. Andre and Fitzian, I’ve tried all of the output modes. They all work. I tried all of the various rates and bit modes. Auto is what I use with all my other DAPS. It will not play DSD files at their native quality. 384 and 32 is the most it will do. When using the default software, which I believe is a version of Hiby, the indicator light of the N30LE shines white, which indicates decoding above 768 kHz. The most I’ve been able to get out of Poweramp is the Violet indicator (384 kHz) playing those same DSD files. I don’t think the lower sample rate is what I’m hearing though. Andre, you asked what I’m hearing. It sounds like distortion. The kick drums especially are VERY buzzy. Snares on occasion too. One of my test tracks is “Wouldn’t it Be Nice,” by The Beach Boys. That first drum hit plays extremely distorted only on Poweramp. Thanks for the help. I sincerely hope to get this working because the Poweramp UI and skin I love so much, are far superior to the crap available for the Hiby app or Neutron.
  19. Have you had any success with either turning DVC mode on, or choosing a different Output method - e.g. instead of using OpenSL ES, try AAudio, AudioTrack, or HiRes. What exactly is the problem with the sound, beyond being "really off"? Is it possibly volume related rather than actually quality of audio? Andre
  20. Any luck with other output methods? The audio output menus at first can seam a little convoluted. You'll see a list of the output methods (opensl, audiotrack, hi-res, aaudio, and chromecast). Whichever method you select, you then see a list of all the output devices, with toggle switches and a settings gear next to each. Clicking the settings gear gets you to where you can set (or have Poweramp define) the output bit depth and sample rate. At the moment, you don't have any forced resampling happening, which for 44.1 kHz content is a good sign. If you were stuck to using opensl output (which hopefully you won't have to be), from the screenshots alone I don't see any settings that would cause issue just yet.
  21. Yes. DVC off is slightly better. Happy to explore more once I get in the correct area. Sorry again.
  22. Hardware: Cayin N30LE, Focal Cear MG. Settings: Type A amp, Low Gain, Hyper off, Power Mode P, Tibre on Tube Classic. Power amp settings are set to the defaults. Media: 44.1 kHz 1421 kbps FLAC copy of Pet Sounds. The sound is really off. What settings within Poweramp should I be looking for? Is there a settings guide for flagship DAPs?

  24. Greetings, Is there a way to display the true waveform of the file as the seekbar in the main display? I think the current seekbar is an approximation of the real waveform of the file, though it works very smoothly. It would be nice to navigate (ff, rw) through the song on the real wafevorm of the file, of course without compromising the "smoothness" of the experience. Thanks, Vache
  25. I've tried everything but it didn't solve it, it's really a ROM issue, but thanks for the help
  26. Apologies, only bought the app a day ago but thats awesome 👌
  27. That's already a feature. When you use Save/Assign to store an EQ Preset, there are a number of tickboxes that you can select to so it can be automatically applied in specific situations - for example for specific folders, albums, genres, even individual songs, or particular Output devices. To save for the current Bluetooth device, tick only the name of the device in the list. Don't also tick the overall Bluetooth option, as that will apply it to all BT devices. Andre
