@mr sam You've seem to have done what you need to. Set the High-Res Output frequency to the maximum you need, and everything will be played using that setting. I am having trouble to use it with DAC... i use Questyle M15 , 24bit tracks changes light from green to red in USB Player Pro but in Poweramp it just stays green , means doesnt provide actual lossless ,, i tried manually changing the sample bit rate in hi - res output but it just upscales all tracks to 24bit ... what can i do??

@Luke777 it may take a while. Please check under Criteria>Ratings and see if the numbers have chaged Secondly as I indicated there will be a logfile in playlist_manager keeping track and there may also be a notification in the top

Cool thanks Now I have given permission to "playlist_manager" and "Music" folders Then ... Tags and Ratings > "Update Poweramp rating from tag" It says "Updating Poweramp ratings in backgroud" but I see no progress bar or status? When I go back to Poweramp after a few hours I cannot see any ratings

It says that selecting those later items will mean the backup is not compatible with OLD builds of Poweramp, it's fine for recent builds. The new format of backup file (which is more of a ZIP archive, containing lots of extra stuff such as Ratings, Album Art files, List Memory settings, etc) uses a filename extender of .poweramp-settings, whereas the old simpler backup file wrote/read .poweramp-backup files. From memory, it was around 2+ years ago that those new export/import features were added - so as long as you're not trying to go back to seriously old archive builds of Poweramp which can only read/write the original backup format, you'll be fine. Remember that not everything about your setup will be restored - for example 'Date Added to Library' for all files will be reset to the new reinstall date, and restored internal playlist names will now include the restore date in their names. Hence my suggestion to just use a different skin in the meantime. Andre

Seeing a lot of strange behaviour. I think this is all related to Android OS and probably not Poweramp, but I will lodge these issues here. I hop in my car and turn the car on. The bluetooth connects. Sometimes Poweramp will begin playing music without issue, as it should. Sometimes it doesn't. It just sits there connected to Bluetooth and doesn't play. When Poweramp is playing music in the car successfully, after a while, at random, the car will start playing audio through the Phone call profile, but still my car speakers. It's as if I'm on a call and the music is playing on a call. The headunit says "Phone" instead of "BT Audio". I cancel the "call" using my steerging wheel...hangup and then it swtiches to Bluetooth, but audio doesn't play automatically. If I press play on PA on my phone the pause icon changes to play for a second then reverts back to Pause. Then I press it again and it starts playing music. Very frustrating.

I agree. I think this is probably an Android issue, not a car/headunit issue. I have a Mazda 3 Neo 2013. I wonder if Max could upstream this issue to Google and work with them for a fix instead of trying to work around the issue in Poweramp and leaving the problem in Android.

All backup options exported from 981 will be compatible for importing back into the previous stable release (976). Or just use a different skin in the meantime. Andre

When exporting settings/data it tells you what will/won't be compatible with older builds.

if i uninstall and reinstall what things can i backup and what things do i loose? and i just want to install the stable version because of a bug with the skin luminous dark where the simple seekbar it's out of place. do you know when the next update will be? just curious

Hello, I have a brand new Sony Walkman running Android 13 but the application provided by Sony, although it works perfectly, is ugly and difficult to use. I would like to point out that 99% of my usage is for the car, via Bluetooth. I installed Poweramp and: - Poweramp works wonderfully - It indexed the entire library - It starts and stops automatically following the bluetooth connection, it took over the Sony application. BUT If the Sony application outputs directly to Bluetooth (*), this is not the case for Poweramp which uses the "Multimedia" output and this cannot be modified. As a result, when the "Multimedia" volume slider is suddenly lowered to 50%, for example when disconnecting Bluetooth from certain devices, Poweramp has almost no sound, unless you compulsively click on "Volume +" each time you reconnect. , which is not nice. Note that : - “Absolute volume” (dev mode) ON or OFF changes nothing - Any adjustment of the BT output is useless since the Multimedia volume slider at 50% makes the sound inaudible. Two possibilities : - Make Poweramp "Music app" but I don't know how to do it, that would allow it to override the Multimedia volume, it is also written under this setting: "(*) The Music application is not affected by this setting"; that would be great. - Make Poweramp an actor of its Bluetooth Multimedia output volume If anyone has an idea I would be very happy. Only THE Music app of the system is allowed to bypass this setting.

Just uninstall 981 and install the current version from the Play Store. Not much point though, 981 doesn't have any particular reasons to avoid that I'm aware of. Andre

@Luke777 The text actually reads Root Music Folder so is in fact correct. It assumes that you have your tracks under 1 folder. The general convention is to copy tracks in subdirectories under the Music folder. In any case, you should set permissions for all your music folders and playlist_manager In general this means setting permission on Music on internal and Music on sdcard if you have one. Permissions cascade down hence the Top (Root) level there is an option on the main menu Just follow the instructions given
