Requests for Hi-Res Support (please state which build of Poweramp you are using)

  2. Stock 8.0  build R16NW.G965USQU1ARBG kernel 4.9.65-13087505
  3. This device uses audio_policy_configuration.xml instead and lists the following:

mixport direct_pcm format AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT sampling rates 8000, 11025, 12000, 16000, 22050, 24000, 32000, 44100, 48000, 64000, 88200, 96000, 176400, 192000, 352800, 384000

format AUDIO_FOMAT_PCM_24_BIT_PACKED sampling rates 8000, 11025, 12000, 16000, 22050, 24000, 32000, 44100, 48000, 64000, 88200, 96000, 176400, 192000, 352800, 384000

format AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_8_24_BIT sampling rates 8000, 11025, 12000, 16000, 22050, 24000, 32000, 44100, 48000, 64000, 88200, 96000, 176400, 192000, 352800, 384000

format AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_32_BIT sampling rates 8000, 11025, 12000, 16000, 22050, 24000, 32000, 44100, 48000, 64000, 88200, 96000, 176400, 192000, 352800, 384000

However, within this for the wired headphones for example it only has AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT and sampling rate 48000 listed.  This seems odd since it supports these formats that it only declares one for headphones.  I am sure this is where the issue is.

No real need on an S8 with Oreo as it's such a common device and Oreo will be fairly ubiquitous before long. Best to just wait for the next PA beta release (unless your device is rooted and you want to fiddle with lower level stuff anyway).

1) Xiaomi Mi A1

2) Android Oreo 8.0.0 Stock

3) Not properly understanding but I'm Submitting the features Quoted By the Company "An industry leading 10V smart power amplifier
paired with the advanced Dirac HD Sound algorithm provides powerful speaker audio output and deep lows for both music and phone calls.
The independent audio amplifier supports high-
impedance headphones of up to 600Ω. " http://www.mi.com/in/mi-a1/ all specifications are there.

Well attached audio_policy.conf BTW It's audio_effects.conf

audio_effects.conf

Edit:-- Its Snapdragon 625 Series mobile and it has Qualcomm Aqstic™ Support

Having the same issue with the HTC U11 as other user above stated. I don't understand why. The latest build won't show the hi res option. The phone has USB Type C but even with the adapter it doesn't matter. The phone supports 24bit hi res just like the HTC 10. Is this something that just needs to be waited on for support or is there more going on that I need to do in order to get this to work?

Just need to wait for the next release. The high res in the current alpha version is listed as an experimental feature don't forget, and a lot of newer devices and/or ROMs don't necessarily play well with it yet.

I wish I had high-rez ears, but anything much beyond about 18kHz is lost on me anyway, so sampling at 44k is ample for my ears. Might surprise a passing bat though. :)

I think you're confusing the frequency of sound with sampling frequency.

If you were kidding, then I apologize, but if you weren't, then this is the link you might want to look into:
