New error

I found a new error. Entering the file manager and adding a song stops the app. But doing the same porceso with a song is within the library works correct. I hope someone try and comment.

I've tried 2 times on MIUI 9 (Nougat 7.1.1) and it all works fine. Here's some questions & suggestions: 

Have you tried mp3 files yet?

What Android version do you have? (PA doesn't work well on Oreo)

Try to change your system language to English. 

Try rebooting.

And even which version of PA are you trying, there are two development forks at the moment (705 and 790).

Playing from a file explorer has always been something that I've tried to avoid doing, as PA is very much a Library based player, and its far better to start playback from within the app lists rather than from an external source (if only because starting from an external app changes your preferred playback category to All Songs)

Hello, I tell you that I have Oreo 8.0 xiaomi MI A1 rom stock Root. I will have mp3 file as you asked and I could not start PA even restarting the phone. Clear PA data started to work. Using Preview 790 but I let this work later and go to 705. Later I'll go back to 790.
