      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  2. Hey guys! I recently got a new phone (Samsung Galaxy S8), and metadata like artist name, album name, song title, etc no longer displays on my car (2012 Mazda 3)'s heads-up display. It has worked perfectly fine before this on my last phone (LG G4). Music plays just fine, it's just that the metadata doesn't display. I realize this is most likely an issue with the phone itself using a different version of bluetooth compared to my last phone, but since you guys are the gurus when it comes to troubleshooting this kind of stuff... is there any chance you can look into it, and see if it'd be an easy fix to implement in Poweramp (v2 or v3, I've tried it on both) itself? Like, maybe a toggle-able option to make Poweramp force the phone to transmit metadata the old way so that it'll display in situations like this? Just an idea. Not sure who else to contact/ask.
  3. I was wondering when power amp is going to add high res flac support for the Samsung galaxy s8 as it has high res playback
  4. Hi there, I use Poweramp pro for .. 4 years now and I am really happy with the product. great stuff! however, since I got a new phone, a samsung galaxy s7, I am seeing an issue with the lockscreen. whenever I click the "to lock screen" button on the Poweramp lockscreen, it switches back to the phone lock screen for a second or two and then the Poweramp lockscreen appears again. this is really annoying since it not only happens when going to the phone lock screen, but also when accessing the camera of the phone by samsungs lock screen shortcut of double tapping home and not having to go through the finger print/unlock procedure. To be fair, I think this issue existed before the beta, but I found out now with the new phone and thought the new release would be an option to fix the bug.. Cheers, rafa
  5. Hi, I cannot diagnose why Poweramp is skipping/hiccuping/stuttering. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S4 and have tried it on stock Touchwiz 5.0.1 and 4.4.2, Poweramp 2.0.10 build 588 I am aware of the article http://support.powerampapp.com/knowledgebase/articles/323527-skips-hiccups-stutters And the results from trying to use this have are: Not an SD card issue (music plays perfectly in stock player) Not Bluetooth issues (using regular wired headphones) Not tweaked ROM (I use stock Touchwiz 4.4.2 and 5.0.1, unless Touchwiz is considered tweaked?) No additional 3rd party audio effects (Adapt Sound has never been touched/set up) No CPU hungry apps (Show CPU usage in developer options does not indicate high CPU usage and GSam battery monitor shows the highest battery usage being Android OS itself) No broken formats (skipping is not consistent with particular files) If you could please help me resolve this problem I would greatly appreciate it. I have reset my phone on stock 4.4.2 and 5.0.1 in attempts to resolve it.
  6. I recently upgraded to an S7 and put all my music on my new phone (old was an S5.) I used Poweramp premium on both phones and I listen to my music primarily in my car via bluetooth. When I had my S5, the tag info would pop up on my 2014 Civic's display. With my S7, it shows no info. When I play songs in google play the tags show up but not when using Poweramp. Does anyone know how to fix this issues? Thanks
  7. Version 703/704

    24,284 downloads

Poweramp v3 (ALPHA-3 test builds 703 / 704) for standard (ARM-based) Android devices. Released: 16 April 2016 This is alpha version of upcoming major Poweramp release. Please make backup of your existing Poweramp app/settings/db before installation as you won't be able to rollback to Poweramp v2 without alpha uninstallation, causing settings to be lost. You can install it over your existing v2 installation (your purchase and settings will be carried over). At this time, only ARM processors are supported. We'll add Intel support for later beta builds. Min. supported Android: 4.1. Skins are disabled in alpha as UI is partially changed and there is no point in (re-)building skins now. Alpha-3: - added DVC support for Hi-Res Snapdragon 24-bit PCM variant (e.g. LG Gx/v10, HTC A9, etc.) - Hi-Res support for Sony Z3, Meizu 5 Pro, Lenovo Vibe X3 - Look and Feel / Status Bar/Notification / Notification Colors option to override non-standard ROM notification colors - mp3 vbr seeking improvements - 2 Hi-Res API variants (Sony Hi Res and Snapdragon 24-bit offload) for Sony Z5/P - option to always process/send album art (useful for smartwatches) - bt pause/resume polishing - scrobbling fixes, removed obsolete ScrobbleDroid support - album art downloading update - language selection fix - better current output device detection (wired headset vs bt) - other few small fixes
  8. BAck, Play/pause, Forward.......and lyrics showing when phone is turned off with either a galaxy s6 edge or a note edge.
  9. After syncing songs from my laptop, many songs are randomly disappearing from my Poweramp library. I've tried reloading multiple times but songs are still disappearing. The song files still appear in the Google Play Music app so I know they've been successfully loaded on the Sandisk micro SD my Samsung Galaxy S5. Is anyone else having this issue? If so, were you able to correct this?
  10. It would be nice if you could support these features on the s4. Skip tracks using air gesture. Preview track/album information using air view. Briefly preview songs when your finger remains on it.
  11. I have to two requests for future features. 1. This I have asked for many many times via E-mail. I was told the first time it was planned to be added in the next update (but it still hasn't and has been well over a year). I would LOVE it if you would make it so Poweramp can read the Ratings tag already in all my files. I have every single song I have rated and would love for Poweramp to be able to read these, and not make me re-rate them. Also, standard rating includes 1/2 star (making it out of 10 instead of 5) which is much better. 2. The second request. The Samsung S4 has a feature called Adaptive Sound. This plays tones and then equalizes your left and right headphones to sound more balanced based on your ears. I absolutely love this feature, due to a damaged right ear. I have asked for this feature to be added to Poweramp before but no response of it. Now Samsung did the work of making this feature. Now can you please make Poweramp use it. IDK why but it seems to only work in the default player app (which sucks and I paid for Poweramp). I have tried changing all the setting available in Poweramp but it still doesn't seem to work with adaptive sound. Please, please, please make it work. I will be using the standard music app until then.
  12. Howdy, how about extending (if possible to catch broadcast S-View event from Galaxy S4) Poweramp in order to show title / large cover / playtime / tracknumber etc. in the s-view window of the Galaxy S4, just like its done with the built-in music app from Samsung. That would be an awesome feature for all Samsung Galaxy S4 users with an s-view case. Thanks in advance for considering.... Cheers, Brummer
  13. Hello all, i back ! I was with a problem and I was reading and did some testing and was able to find something. The smart phones with single core processor as my intel atom does not have support for DSP. I like to know any solution for this, because I have using and enjoying the power amp with the preamp button at least and I can not Unlockable the sterio x. Can you help me please, because I'm buying a license now, and I also think that you would sell a lot more if this serious problem is being corrected. thank you
  15. I have a small problem with Poweramp 2.0.5 build 488. I use TuneSync to sync playlists from my huge iTunes library. The files and playlists are copied to my Samsung Galaxy S2 running Gingerbread. I have previously had Poweramp 1.48 installed to avoid the problem I am describing in this post, but it seems silly not to ask about it if it can be fixed. The names of all my playlists get the prefix "Imported -" before the name itself. On the older version of Poweramp this wasn't the case and it seems extremely silly to have 200+ playlists with this prefix in the names of all them (for example: instead of a playlist being named "Lana Del Rey - Born To Die" it's name is "Imported - Lana Del Rey - Born To Die".) The space to show the names in the playlist list is cramped enough on my phone without this prefix added to the name. These playlists are imported as system playlists. So it is for this reason I write on this forum, to ask if there is something I can do to fix this. Is there something I might have overlooked? It is for this reason alone that I mostly use the older version of the player. I can, of course, rename all of them one by one, but this is just even more silly to have to do this instead of fixing the source of the problem. My thanks to anyone who might have a suggestion on what might be done to fix this. Thank you in advance, Erik Aleksander Moe
  16. I was rather looking forward to getting the new Samsung Galaxy Note, released today. As an audiophile and user of Poweramp, I am disappointed to see this thread on XDA which says that whereas the original Samsung Galaxy had the excellent Wolfson's WM8994 DAC, the later Galaxy S2 and the new Galaxy Note (the big one) now have the apparently poor performing Yamaha C1YMU823 / MC-1N2 DAC. Which left me thinking... does Poweramp actually use the built in DAC supplied with the phone, or does it do it's own DAC thing in software? Regards, John
