      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Hi, Does Poweramp feature an A-B repeat function? Support for A-B repeat in Poweramp would be awesome. The ability to mark a start and end point within the single song/audio file that is played for just that marked-in segment to play recursively would be great to use especially for playback of audio recordings but also for music Additionally an ability to export/save the particular bookmark file (text )of the A-B repeat that is selected for. Many of you might have used the feature on such players such as VLC http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php ... 2&start=20 (It's in VLC 1.0+)
  2. Hi guys. I love Poweramp and have been using it for years. It has truly transformed my phone into a modern day walkman. I have a feature request to ask you to take into consideration: For a while now, there's been a disconnect between my intuition and how Poweramp behaves. My problem is with the Queue. Usually, I listen to music using custom playlists on repeat. But I often find myself wanting to sprinkle the playback with single plays of one or more tracks. These tracks I will put in the Queue, only to encounter the issue discussed here: What I request is an option to treat the queue differently from other lists. An "Auto-Advance from Queue - And I mean It!" setting, so to speak -Only play through the queue once, then resume playback of the previous list - regardless of the repeat/advance list setting, which I don't expect to apply to the queue. -It would also be nice the have the queue auto-cleared once it's done. Regards, Martin

Poweramp v3 (ALPHA-3 test builds 703 / 704) for standard (ARM-based) Android devices. Released: 16 April 2016 This is alpha version of upcoming major Poweramp release. Please make backup of your existing Poweramp app/settings/db before installation as you won't be able to rollback to Poweramp v2 without alpha uninstallation, causing settings to be lost. You can install it over your existing v2 installation (your purchase and settings will be carried over). At this time, only ARM processors are supported. We'll add Intel support for later beta builds. Min. supported Android: 4.1. Skins are disabled in alpha as UI is partially changed and there is no point in (re-)building skins now. Alpha-3: - added DVC support for Hi-Res Snapdragon 24-bit PCM variant (e.g. LG Gx/v10, HTC A9, etc.) - Hi-Res support for Sony Z3, Meizu 5 Pro, Lenovo Vibe X3 - Look and Feel / Status Bar/Notification / Notification Colors option to override non-standard ROM notification colors - mp3 vbr seeking improvements - 2 Hi-Res API variants (Sony Hi Res and Snapdragon 24-bit offload) for Sony Z5/P - option to always process/send album art (useful for smartwatches) - bt pause/resume polishing - scrobbling fixes, removed obsolete ScrobbleDroid support - album art downloading update - language selection fix - better current output device detection (wired headset vs bt) - other few small fixes
  4. Hi, guys. Can you add an option just like the title says? Is quite annoying when you add a song to queue just to hear it from between your other songs and it keeps playing forever when "repeat list" is on. Thank you. I simply love Poweramp. Best player out there!
  5. I have approx. 4,300 songs and use shuffle to play all randomly, but it is tiresome to hear Poweramp repeating the same songs most of the time. Any ideas how to avoid that? what criteria is used to shuffle?
  6. Can someone clarify the next >> and next item >>| functionality to me, as I think I am being dense!! I think it is as follows: - The >>| jumps to the next album (which I never use). - The >> jumps to the next album, artist or song depending (i think) on whether I selected albums or artists previously once the current song, artist or album has finished? ---- If that is right then is the following possible? I would like to use >> to cycle through to the next song but stay within the album selected and not jump to the next album etc, (I have also disabled the vertical scrolling as i kept accidently jumping albums). The only way I can see of making this stay within the album selected is to turn on repeat album, however that means the album continuously plays. Is there a way to make the album stop after playing once but allow the >> to skip back to the first track of the album if jumping through the tracks? Also can I turn off the teh >>| markers as I keep tapping that instead of the >> and jumping albums. Thank you for your time!!
  7. Hi, been using this great player for a long time now. The one thing that, for me, is missing is an A-B feature like for example the one in VLC that would allow you to loop a chosen part of a song. I found a use for this while playing guitar to teach myself a solo or to just repeat a part of a song that i really like ... Would really like this feature to be implemented. Hope I'm not the only one that would find it useful.
  8. I have an ancient mp3 player with A-B repeat - A.N.C.I.E.N.T. I'm sure this already great music player, power amp, can deliver this function. Sometimes you just need a section of song repeated. Manual scrubbing is too clumsy.
  9. Hello. Not many people have this view when you open up the player and go to All Songs I guess. I relay much on song's rating and why Poweramp has it's own way how rating works? I mean it does not rating from the music file itself. If I set rating on my PC then in Poweramp it doesn't show up. Why is that? The biggest trouble I had was when I switched phones. I have all my songs on my SD card and pretty much took it out from old one and put it to new and installed Poweramp. Guess what? Song ratings were gone. Then I ended up looking for Poweramp folder with Root Browser on old phone and copying the app files from old phone to new one to get ratings and album art. It worked. Then I had trouble updating and it rewrote that whatever file hold that info. I lost every rating I had on songs. So had to cycle through all my songs ~2000 all the way over. Why is it working like that? There should be some kind of option to back up that whatever file that contains that information if it can't work in other way so it can actually write rating to the file itself so Windows or whatever thing you use to listen music can recognize that it has X star's rating. And also what about Repeat X Times option? So you can chose to repeat song, for example 2 times in a row and then move on.
  10. I would like this because I would like to have two+ 4x1 Playlist widgets on my phone's lockscreen and jump between the playlists easily. Would also like the new 4x1 Playlist Widget to additionally have the Shuffle and Repeat options on it (vs. the current 4x1 widget) that are set for each Playlist Widget added, and are changed independently of each other AND the main player's Shuffle and Repeat settings (can remove the album image for space to add the Shuffle and Repeat options). Thx.
  11. You don't need to use the existing widget. You can create an additional 4x1 widget which doesn't have the left-side album image (if more space is needed). This way the 4x1 widget has all the important features, and is still small enough to put on my lock screen.
  12. my Poweramp updated recently, within the past week or so, and now i can't find where i would select repeat and shuffle options. used to be right on the player, to the left and right of play/pause and all that. now?
