      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Hi! Could you please add native support for scrobbling for last.fm using the last.fm API? I know we can use the official app and simple.fm app for the same, but they almost never work. It would be amazing to have native support for scrobbling, as it'd help track the music we are listening to and the music we love. Thanks!
  2. It will perfect if the next update come with the new Android N notification style, its one of the loved ones, i hope the team can do that for us.
  3. I'm not quite sure if I can post a feature request here, but since this forum is about the new version of Poweramp, I hope you don't mind. I know that it's possible to use the convolver in V4A, but only if you have a rooted phone. I'd like to have a solution for the plain, boring, non-rooted Android. Also, I like Poweramp too much to even look around and see if a different player can do it. I don't know a lot about the technical details of convolution, but as far as I know, it shouldn't be difficult to find a way to add it as a feature. We just need a switch to enable it, and a button to choose the .irs file we want to use. I've found two old topics on the forum about this:
  4. Hello, this has been already many times asked in this Forum. I'm talking about 'Short Audio Focus' and Poweramp. Actually the only way that Poweramp handles 'Short Audio Focus' is pausing the song. This is actually nice if you have headphones connected and you don't want to listen to your song on the external loudspeaker when a message or whatever arrives. Ok, till there everything is fine. But it's not the same while connected via Bluetooth to your car head unit. So in combination with a Navigation app (Let's say TomTom for example) + Poweramp, every time the navigation says you should turn, the music just stops playing, and after finishing talking the music resumes. This is deadly annoying when you're driving inside of a city, then the music sounds like a scratched CD from the 90's.. stopping every 5 to 10 seconds. The proposed solution is always disable the 'Pause Song while Short Audio Focus', then the song keeps playing while the navigation app is talking.. but the song loudness is as loud as the voice talking, so you end up being unable to understand what the navigation system is saying, so it gets annoying again. FEATURE REQUEST: -> So again, I would like to request as an option to enable 'Song Volume Lowering on Short Audio Focus'. There are a lot of topics in this forum asking about this feature, and there are even some of them where the developers even answer. http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/5610-volume-ducking/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/5848-lower-volume-of-music-when-google-maps-prompts/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/2873-mute-or-lower-volume-during-google-navigation-speech/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/4591-lower-volume-on-notifications-short-audio-focus-change/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/4468-volume-duck-instead-of-pause-while-playing-with-google-navigationwaze/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/8287-audiofocus-option-for-lowering-volume-during-notificationsnavigation/ ... The developers said: For a workaround for this issue, it could be a Bluetooth only feature (So it would work on Samsung and in others) and the annoying problem would be gone and everyone happy. I hope I'ill get a response from the developers, I would like to know if they would consider implementing this possibility or if everyone should stop asking about this feature (which the android stock player has by default). Greetings.
  5. Poweramp needs OPUS support as soon as possible! As described in RFC: 6716 OPUS audio compression just became an INTERNET STANDARD os Poweramp desperately needs OPUS codec support to stay RELEVANT . . . Please add OPUS support as soon as possible. Other than this, Poweramp is a great app! PS. MXplayer, VLC and other players offer OPUS support on android already.
  6. Hi everybody, I'd really like to have an option to mix the sound of my environment to whatever is sent into my earphones. Benefit: Sitting in the office listening to music without bothering my colleages (i. e. using earphones) and still be receptive to phone calls and responsive to personal questions. Or sitting in the train with headphones on and still be able to hear the announcements. Thank you for considering this recommendation -Rob. P. S.: Still the most eagerly expected feature: adjustable fade length, fade level (e. g. for FM fades), and selectable folders, to which music the fade has to be applied on (or not).
  7. Hey guys, I've had Poweramp for a long time, and I love it. While I still believe it's the best music app available, it's lacking one commonly used (and simple) feature: play count. Many people use play count and skip count to create playlists or to simply browse your library to see what you should remove from the collection. Please consider adding play/skip count to future versions of Poweramp! Thanks, and keep up the great work.
  8. There was one big reason I bought this application: FLAC support. That it's an excellent player is just a plus. There is one feature I'd like though: The ability to perform per-channel equalization. This would be great because, as with FLAC, it vastly improves the listening experience for my music. Personally, I hear differently in either ear, in my left ear, I hear poorly in the mid/low frequency range. This is true for many people, although for me it's quite pronounced. When I listen with headphones this is particularly noticeable, and it would be great to mix either channel differently to compromise for the pair of ears I've got on my head. The current, mono equaliser is handy for compromising for the response my my headphones, perhaps the best thing would be to make it possible to switch between a mono or a stereo equalizer? The other option would be to have a 3 stage equaliser: left, right, and master. Another good reason is that many albums are mixed with different instrumentation on either channel, and require different mixing to sound their best. This is the only feature I'd really like, thought I'd throw it out there. Regards, Liam
