      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Using PA on a rockchip 3066 auto unit with Android 4.4.4 When making a call via bluetooth, PA will stop the music for a second and then start playing again., even louder. I can hear both the music and the BT call. I have to manually stop PA during calls. Tried every possible combinations in Audio Focus settings. I tried v3 because I have the same issue on v2 When receiving calls, PA pauses correctly. Calls are made from a LG G4 through the car unit BT. Any other app, including youtube or the built in audio player are pausing correctly. Being a car system, this is kind of a deal breaker for me.
  2. I just got a 2017 Prius 4, but trying to get it working on my phone has been a pain. I'm moving on from using USB to just going Bluetooth, I accept that, however having issues with the controls there. When I use Poweramp, the shuffle and repeat buttons don't do anything and there's no way to browse the files on the touch screen. This all works on another player. Is there an option in Bluetooth settings I've missed or could it be something else? I'm going to try to update the car's firmware when I get out of the office and see if that fixes it, but I rather not leave Poweramp if possible.
  4. Need the ability to have a widget on the home screen that allows the user to select a particular or custom preset such as in car or headphones or Bluetooth and have Poweramp equalizer presets activate. An example being I like my bass at 73% when listening through headphones but that setting distorts the sound quality through my car speakers when plugged in, hence I'd like my bass dropped to 0%. A small widget on the home screen with this functionality would make a huge difference I'm out lives.
  5. Hello! So as of about a month or two ago, I began having this issue. I have used Poweramp for a year or so, and I love it! This is getting super annoying though lol, hoping there may be a solution or it may just be a bug! Basically, when I hop in the car my bluetooth used to connect and just start playing where it left off, no big deal, just how I like it! Suddenly, when I hop in and it connects, a couple things can happen. Sometimes it plays, then pauses, then resumes. Sometimes it plays, then skips a track forward. Sometimes after the skip it\ll pause, sometimes resume. It doesn't seem terribly consistent and I can't seem to pinpoint why this could be happening. My phone is an Unlocked US HTC 10. Up until 2 days ago, I was running the stock Verizon M Rom. A few days ago, I updated to the VZW N Rom, then flashed over a custom LeeDroid N Rom. The problem is the same unfortunately. The radio in my car is a Pioneer FH-X700BT that I've had for probably 2 years or so now. This issue doesn't seem to be happening with the LG Tones I regularly use. Any insight is greatly appreciated, or if it's a bug perhaps it can be worked out Thanks so much!
  6. Recently I bought a p10 and obviuosly installed Poweramp v3. I connected my bluetooth headphones and music was very scratchy. It works very well with cable earphones, but I prefer listening to music with headphones, which have a good performance. I don't know to fix this problem, please help. P.s. Sorry for my bad english
  7. Recently I got a Maceton WM4BE Bluetooth receiver which supports AptX. On my Sony Xperia Z5 with Poweramp (version 2.0.10 build 588) the sound quality is very good but with other apps (Sony music player, Spotify, YouTube) it sounds too loud and crackles quite a bit. I've checked my Sony audio settings and even changed to safe mode, but apps other than Poweramp still sound bad... So I'm wondering exactly what Poweramp does differently to Bluetooth audio compared to other apps? Has anyone had similar experience with the Xperia Z5? Turning Bluetooth DVC on increases the volume in Poweramp, but it doesn't add any more distortion. I don't have any other Bluetooth devices to test, but I did try the receiver on my older phone (HTC Butterfly s) which also supports AptX. There is sometimes crackling when I switch tracks (which might be a problem on HTC since I recall the same thing happening with wired devices) but the sound quality is otherwise fine.
  8. Currently you are able to associate "Bluetooth" with one of the stored equalizer presets. The current capability does not account for the need to have different equalizer settings for different bluetooth devices. In my case, I connect my device to six different bluetooth devices. There are other applications that are capable of detecting which bluetooth device is connected and customize the application settings based on that connected bluetooth device. A similar ability in Poweramp would be greatly appreciated. Also, it is not easy to temporarily suspend the preset association. For example if you have associated a given eq preset with the headphone jack, regardless of any manual eq preset selection, the associated preset will be reapplied in place of the manual selection as soon as the next music file is loaded. This feature is annoying and the ability to lock-in an override eq preset and then release it at some time in the future would be another plus. Thank-you, in advance, to all who take the time to read my post and comment. Cheers!
  9. Bluetooth controls to play, pause forward and back don't work in build 704 and Android O. Bluetooth controls in other apps work fine. I have tried to disable then reenable controls in Poweramp with no effect.
  10. Hi,I have some issues with my Gateway Pro BT (bluetooth adapter) in my car. I use it with my Xperia Z5, and each time (or almost each time) it connects to the Gateway, the music restart but it pauses 2 seconds later, and this start/restart process never stops.I have to:- shutdown bluetooth on the phone + close all the app and restart bluetooth- or even restart the phone when the first solution is not enoughI tried to remove all potential restart option in both my phone and app , but I still encounter the same issue. I want to precise that: - Power Amp works perfect with my previous sony audio system and philips BT adapter for my home HiFi system - You Tube amp works fine with the Gateway when Poweramp get mad - I wonder if it may be linked to games still running in background (star wars force collection or dragon ball dokkan battle), that works in fullscreen and force to play there own sound All help is welcomed.
  11. Does Poweramp V3 support the LDAC Bluetooth codec?
  12. Hey, Since my HTC M9 (stock firmware, region EU) updated to Android from 6.0 to 7.0, I have 2 problems. Not that I have these problems with V2 & V3 (703)... 1) Sometimes the player does not start playing when connecting to my bluetooth set (passive BT set with A2DP functionality) 2) The player sometimes start with very low volume. Then, if another app plays a notification (ie Whatsapp, Fb messenger), or if I press a volume key once, Poweramp plays at the set volume again. 3) The button controls sometimes do not work, the I have to deactive & reactivate the option in the Poweramp menu. Note that is issue is fixed since updating to V3.0 First I thought it was a problem with the firmware, since then I've received an update, but that did not sorted the problem. Second, I use an app that is called "flitsmeister", (it some sort of a coyote app). It also is set to start automaticalley when connecting to a bluetooth device. That app starts/runs fine, it always starts and the volume is always ok. kind regards, Nick
  13. Hi. My phone is a Lenovo Moto G 4º generation, I'm running stock Android 6.0.1 and I'm using build 588 of Poweramp. I'm having some issues while playing music through my Pioneer DEH-4600BT and the problem is that, after 15 minutes or so of playback, there's always a small pause. This pause usually lasts for about a half to almost a second and doesn't happen when using non-Bluetooth headphones. Music is stored on the real (external) SD card. These are the settings I tried changing and did nothing to solve or mitigate the issue: Short Audio Focus Change BT Direct Volume Control Audio Buffer Size Audio Thread Priority Use Wakelock I've also tried leaving Poweramp in the foreground before turning off the screen and didn't help either. Finally, I have another small issue also Bluetooth related: no matter what settings I choose related to Bluetooth metadata, my head unit displays the phone Bluetooth name ("Moto G (4)" in my case) in the place where it should display playtime. This never happened to me with this player on Android 2 or 4 on the same unit and works as intended (displaying playtime) on other car audio systems. Thank you for your responses and for making this great player! EDIT: Managed to get some logs, pause happens at around 11:16:04:
  14. Now I'm using Poweramp V3 with aptx-HD(Bluetooth) output like below. "Smartphone (aptx-HD is activated) -> Astell&Kern AK XB10 aptx-HD Receiver -> AUX -> Car (Audi A6)" But I cannot understand how to set HI-res output setting in my case. Setting -> Audio Engine -> Output -> Hi-Res Output (Experimental) and then there is only two kinds output option (Wired Headset/AUX and USB DAC) and I cannot find Bluetooth option. Please let me know how can I use Hi-Res Output through aptx-HD(Bluetooth)
  15. I have Poweramp 2.0.10 build-588 (the latest version of Poweramp 2 available on Google Play) installed on my Moto G 2015 running stock Marshmallow (I believe fully updated as well). My bluetooth headset is an Audio Technica AT-PHA50BT (listed on their site as a bluetooth amp) with apt-x support, with the usual three-button playback setup (previous, play/pause, next). After my bluetooth headset is connected to my phone, music playback is ok, and of course I can control playback on my phone, but the bluetooth buttons are completely unresponsive — even play/pause doesn't work! Yet all three buttons work when I play music and video on Spotify and VLC. As sort of a last resort, I've tried resetting Poweramp entirely (going to Android system preferences -> apps and clearing the app's storage), but to no avail. I also have an Asus Zenwatch 2 (an Android Wear smartwatch) connected to my phone at all times, and music control (play/pause, previous, next, volume up/down) from the watch doesn't work as well, so I'm guessing it's an issue with the way Poweramp is communicating with Android's bluetooth A2DP service? I've tried resetting just about everything (headset, watch, Poweramp, everything short of a hard reset of the phone itself, although I don't see why I'd need to do that since I got it fresh just a few days ago), and playback controls still don't work at all. Please help. EDIT: I might add that my previous phone was a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, which I had for about a year and a half, and bluetooth playback control used to work properly but suddenly just stopped working about three months ago, I have no idea why, but I never tried troubleshooting the problem. Also, I acquired my headset before I bought my smartwatch, and these two had no issue regarding playback control for about half a year, but suddenly bluetooth playback control both stopped working for no apparent reason (music still played ok through the headset, it's just that I have to pull out my phone to control anything)
  16. I have a LG v10 smart phone. When I played music with Poweramp, the music will sound static and crackling randomly. I have tried different bluetooth headphone, bluetooth speakers and car bluetooth amp. I still got the same issue. If I played music with wired headphone or with the cell phone speaker, this issue will go away. I also played music with internet radio, such as Calm radio and Radiotune, and connected with bluetooth speakers, bluetooth car amp, then the sound static and crackling will not happen. Clearly the Poweramp has the bluetooth sound quality issue. Please help me to fix this problem. Thank you.
  17. I got a funny bug with my new 2017 Honda Ridgeline. When I start up my car, my cell phone will auto connect into car's bluetooth. My car will continue play music though bluetooth. Then the funny thing happen. Poweramp play the music, but not with the car's speakers. It play though phone's speaker. I had look around for the reason, but nothing help. I try rest the phone's bluetooth and unpair then repair. I haven't try different music play yet, cuz I use Poweramp as my main music player, so I will try some day later. Just wonder anyone have this problem? Or it just happen with HTC 10? PS : Any other function works with bluetooth, just something wrong with playing music.
  18. my bluetooth earphone buttons dont respond to Poweramp but it responds to the stock music player... i can pause and play, skip and go to previous tracks with my bt earphones but only on the stock player... when i play tracks using the Poweramp, buttons do nothing... cant pause or skip tracks... what do you think is the problem? the respond to buttons in the settings are checked and high priority is checked but the bt earphone buttons still doesn't work... any idea to fix this?
  19. It would be great if bluetooth can be automatically turned on when i start Poweramp and also turn it off, when i close Poweramp. This feature is great for use in car in combination with bluetooth. Ive seen this feature in other apps.
  20. Hi, I use Poweramp in my car, connected in AUX through bluetooth device Anker SoundSync drive. The BT deveice has 3 buttons: next/prev/pause. When connected the buttons are working fine for a while and after that first stops working prev/next, and after short time pause/play also stops working. This is driving me crazy and disapoints me, althought the Poweramp is a great app. Th peoblem is in the Poweramp, because the default music player is working fine with my BT device. Are you aware of the problem and is there a reliable solution for resolving it? My phone is Huawei P8lite with Android 6.0.1
  21. Phone: Blackview BV6000 Android: 6.0 Poweramp: 2.0.10 build 588 Bluetooth Headset: Plantronics M90 Hi, The pause / resume button does not work on my Bluetooth headset properly with Poweramp. They do work when I can see the Poweramp screen i.e. before the phone screen times out and goes black. After it goes black though, the pause button does nothing. The pause button does work properly with a wired headset and does work with my Bluetooth headset on the stock music player that came with the phone, but not with Poweramp. The setting has of course been selected to "Respond To Buttons", but only does so for a minute before the screen times out and goes black. Note: The phone does use a lock screen, but there is no passcode needed when the bluetooth headset is connected. Thanks, Paul
  22. Just started having a number of issues with Poweramp and my Powerbeats2 Bluetooth headset: 1) Often, not able to advance to next track 2) Now, all the time, after three times advancing, headset switches to another music app - like Google Music - Poweramp becomes inoperative from headset. Note this is not a bluetooth problem - everything works with the bluetooth in my Ford Explorer.
  23. Please add rewind-forward functionality for long-pressed previous/next buttons. I'm using DIY bluetooth media remote control on my bicycle, it does have 5 buttons, which I use as play/vol-/vol+/prev/next. I wish I could rewind and forward tracks by holding prev/next buttons.
  24. Guys can you add the option of upscalling of bluetooth audio (96 khz/24 bit ) for non UHQ devices? Thanks
  25. Hello Folks, i've been using Poweramp for quite a while now, and props to the mighty devs, you did a very good job! So my suggestion : There are more and more small boomboxes on the market, same with bt-headphones and so on. Recently i really have to switch my EQ-Settings pretty often, depending on what devices i connect to. It would be a great feature, if one could set different EQ-Profiles for different BT-devices. example : Profile 1 : Sonos Play : little boost in the upper bass, little boost for the treble Profile 2 : Wireless Headset, a little bit of boost for the midrange Profile 3 : Home stereo, smooth EQ. Would be a fckin great feature to see in further developed versions of Poweramp! Best Regards, Lukas
