Poweramp v3 - Next Beta Release Planned for April 2018   03/14/2018

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss, but it is currently hoped that the next Beta Test release will be ready for April 2018.

  1. I would recommend to continue to use build 703, as it is a great player. But if for some reason you dont want to, here are some alternatives. Neutron Player (Great Clear Sound, But some People Can Find It A Bit Confusing. Not me though) JetAudio (Good Sound With 20 Band Equalizer) PlayerPro (Good Sound With Material Design And 384 Khz Support) USB Audio Player (Good Sound But Has Some Bags) There players all have their own Sound Engine like Poweramp. If you want to move on, move on, but I think you will be back when v3 will be released.
  2. I have a question. I know that there are players in google play that use android default audio engine to play music (such as doubleTwist, Black Player and so on). And there are some players that use their own audio engines 1. Poweramp 2. Neutron 3. JetAudio 4. PlayerPro 5. USB Audio Player Pro 6. Gonemad Music Player The question is do you know any other music players that use their own audio engines?
  3. [Split out from PAv3 Update thread --- Mod] I am telling you for the third time maaaaaan, it ia 2 years when Poweramp got last update, but when it does it will bring 3 MAJOR features, which I personally digging for. The visualisations are JUST UNIQUE. There is not any player in the market with such a great thing. Yhe main thing that people may complain for was(is) a little comfusion with interface, and it will be gone with v3. And the last one, we are gonna have hi res audio 192 khz, which is really exiting because there are plenty Heavy Metal hi res albums. Compare it to PlayerPro, it even does not have lock screen song progress bar, and even cue sheet or visualisations. All the players that I had was issuing 1 update for a month which brought just nothing. I am considering decent these kind of progress even for 2 years.
  4. There was many updates since v2, and I am telling you 3 MAJOR features worth waiting even 2 years.
  5. There will be 3 major improvements in v3 1. Hi Res Audio 2. Material Design 3. Visualisation Cmoooon people, it is decent even for 2 year of developing. Other players maybe issue 1 update at 3 mounths, but they implement minor fixes and features, not 3 MAJOR ONES.
  6. Andre it is almost 2018, can you please ask Max about beta till 2018 ? I am sure everyone here wants only one reply from the developer. Thanks in advance
  7. If you want audiophile music player Neutron if you want mp3 player that looks great doubleTwist Lets see what Poweramp will suggest us with v3
  8. I think THE BEST alternative to Poweramp is Neutron Player. It is running by group of programmers not one person. It has hi res audio up to 768 khz, UPnP Streaming, all audiophile features that you need, like parametric equalizer, 20 band graphical equalizer and so on. And the lock screen player is THE BEST I EVER SEEN. I personally use these two players Neutron and Poweramp. But if Poweramp v3 would be with material design and hi res audio, I will use Poweramp as my primary music player. I think we will get Poweramp v3 at the end of winter and I will wait for it. P.S. These two players use MINIMAL POWER CONSUMPTION, as opposed to all other music players on the market. I personally check power consumption of almost all the players.
  9. Such a great music player must have UPnP streaming.
  10. Thanks man. I read from your profile that you are from Birmingham. I am really huge fan of Heavy Metal and Black Sabbath. There are many of flac files of there albums in rutracker.org mostly 192 khz and 24 bit, and I really looking forward to v3 that would support 192 khz. But I have some more questions. Can I count on 384 khz on the v4 or higher, because there are flac files that rendered from vinyl at 384 khz. And last question, I happen to notice that v2s UI ergonomics are way behind of some other players like doubletwist that provides up to date material design that flys under fingertips. Can I hope that v3 would be something like that or it would be a little bit refined v2 UI. Thanks in advance
  11. I am talking DAC and hi res headphones or speakers with flac file rendered from vinyl on 192 khz or higher, I can definitely hear the difference. Can anyone else reply to my question ?
  12. I dont get it, everyone here talking about how good is Poweramps quality and how they can not switch to other players due to quality of sound and now you are saying that it handles only 48 khz. It makes no sense, can someone explain me this ??? It will be great if Andrew would answer to this that I could be sure. Thanks in advance
  13. Hi. I use Poweramp for the first time, before I used several players like (Neutron, PlayerPro, doubleTwist, n7player). I know Neutron supports 768 khz audio files and PlayerPro supports 384 khz (they say it on their apps description on google play). But I did not find anything about your player hi res range. Please tell me how many khz it supports and if it will be 384 or more you will have one more big fan. And one more thing I wanted to know, if your player work through android system or separately as Neutron does ? I will wait for v3 and hope it will come before 2018. Thanks in advance.
