      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Nope. I install all of my apps on the internal space, only music (& playlists), photos and videos go on my Sd card. I love this app. I bought it a couple of years ago and consider it one of my best app purchases, but this touch problem popped up on my last phone, (Moto G4 Plus) and continued over to my new phone. (Axon 7) I've done the clear cache, clear cache partition and Factory reset without automatic restore, options and the problem persists. I have no touch problem with any other app AND no touch problems with the Beta version pf Power Amp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think this problem popped up with the last update to the official release that occurred not too long ago. (some album art download fix, if I recall)
  2. Yep. Just bought a brand new Axon 7, it's not even 1 month into it's warranty, so stock Rom and No messing around with root.
  3. With the regular, non-beta build of Poweramp, I have this problem where if I go to touch a song to select it and suddenly Poweramp jumps to a song way down or way up the list. It happens when I'm trying to just touch one song from the "all songs" category, or when inside of a playlist I touch one song to edit the tags, Poweramp will suddenly jump to a different song way down the list. This annoying touch problem doesn't leave me a lot of options. How can I fix this? When I switched up to the beta release, there was no touch problem but the beta would forget any changes I made to any playlist, as soon as I rebooted my phone. So with the regular version of Poweramp, there's a touchscreen bug that makes selecting one song damn near impossible, and with the Beta version it forgets any changes I've made to songs and playlists as soon as I reboot the phone. What can I do?
  4. I've been reading about the upcoming new features for the next build of Poweramp and it all seems to be geared towards audio features that the vast majority of users will never need or use. I bought Poweramp because I wanted a player that can handle most/all audio formats and Poweramp excels at this but its playlist management is terrible! A quick google search will show that problems of finding, importing or exporting playlists in Poweramp is the number one problem people have with this app. Poweramp's export playlist feature should be the solution, right? but it isn't. You can't change where Poweramp exports playlists too, and it flashes the location so damn quickly that you can't find it easily with a file explorer. The import playlist feature is even worse. Every time I set up a new phone, and have my playlists on my sd card with my songs, importing never works. (and yes, I set Poweramp to look in the exact folders I need it to) Sometimes after about a week, suddenly the playlists will show up, but now they are duplicates, sometimes each playlist has been duplicated 5 times each. It's an enormous pain in the ass to go back in and eliminate these duplicate playlists, one at a time, once this happens. The unreliable import and export playlists feature(s) are why there's an abundance of apps available that will help you get your playlists into and out of Poweramp. I'm testing the current beta of Poweramp now and I've seen nothing that helps with playlist management, instead, I've seen some useless features like visualizations. Why would I bother to download the exact album art for every song in my library if I wanted visualizations when I'm listening to music? Even now with the current beta, any new songs I add to a playlist disappear as soon as I reboot the phone. I'll be going back to the current official release version that I paid for, because of this. I decided to test out the beta hoping Poweramp would improve in the area it needs to most: Playlist management, and it hasn't at all. Get to work on this before you spend time adding visualizations or Pre-delay, Pre-delay Mix, and Reverb options that most of us will never use!
