Poweramp v3 BETA TEST preview build 790, including brand new user interface, has now been released - 30 April 2018. This is not quite feature-complete yet, so only install if you are happy to test with a slightly reduced set of options.  Missing features should be completed during May. Please report any issues in the testing forum thread, and remember to backup your previous build before testing.

  1. I must say Hi-Res experimental output works nicely this time on my HTC 10 (stock Android 8.0). No problems, no crashes, the audio latency is much smaller than before on the old alpha 704, DVC works with the output. Also I much prefer the new UI from the beta preview. After using this build 705, I can recognize how much nicer the new UI is for me.
  2. If someone has a rooted HTC 10 (Android 8.0), can you please check if OpenSL ES HD does output Hi-Res 24/192 audio via wired headphones ? It can be checked through matlog app afaik. I'm curious
  3. I voted for Dark Theme (black). I can see in this last beta 790 that Max put great effort into the UI and it looks and feels great IMO. So I say prioritise this. But Library / Folder category functions are also really necessary
  4. I can imagine it is crazy hard to develop considering Google always changes their shit. Hi-Res output (experimental) worked on HTC 10 while on Android 7.0 (Nougat), though it had big audio delay/latency and it was crashing occasionally. So I assume this phone should genuinely support OpenSL HD output, right?
  5. @maxmp Will the Hi-res output (direct hardware experimental) make its way to Android 8.0 or is the OpenSL HD Output replacement for that (I assume these 2 outputs are very similar?) ?
  6. Because you are on Android Oreo just like me, and there's no Hi-Res (Exp) Output "• updated Hi-Res (Exp) Output for Android 7.0 (but it doesn't work for Android 8)" You need to use OpenSL ES HD output. And then Hi-Res will work (if it's supported by your phone that is).
  7. As I said, no clipping whatsoever, but I need to test more. So DVC, float32, SOX resampler are all enabled for me (equalizer off). Also I must say I really like the design of the app, great work Max, animations are smooth af. Only I'd like that the song progress bar in the Player section was more "detailed", just like in the SoundCloud app
  8. It's working great on my HTC 10 (Oreo 8.0 android), there's no audio delay (massive latency) like before when using Hi-Res (OpenSL ES HD output), also no clipping when pausing/resuming a song or elsewhere (Float32 Sample Format enabled). No crashes so far. - I assume that Hi-Res is working (not just showing that it works) on the HTC 10 judging by the screenshot below, since it has a dedicated audio DAC, but hell what do I know. To get this "Audio info" below, you need to hold down that little info bubble above the Poweramp navigation bar in the Player section. Using wired headset (headphones), also HTC BoomSound with Dolby audio works with Hi-Res output for the first time.
  9. If the Hi-res works as it should on HTC 10 Oreo, I'll be a happy chappy .
  10. Well finally we have some info from the inside, hell I can wait 2-3 more days. Tell Max to release the beta regardless of the state (I can assume Max is a perfectionist, that's why we have to wait here for so long.....)
  11. I know that he can, that doesn't make it okay. This thread has no use then, update once a year and then silence is very unprofessional.
  12. @clever_man, you must know something (you're from Russia). Is the closed-beta delayed again? Because I don't believe it will come this month, only 3 more days of April. Why does Max love keeping us in the dark so much
  13. Nothing is coming, this thread is one big fat joke
  14. I can't wait no more, join me on planet Gromar, we'll wait for Poweramp here! It's a nice planet with toxic atmosphere, there are llamas here and everything... I hope this message gets on Earth in time
