  1. Thanks for the quick reply gents. The file I uploaded was indeed from my PC and on my phone it's copied to the SD card via FolderSync. Copied it via dropbox to the phone's storage and it does indeed work fine. Sounds like you might be onto something with storage corruption Andre; before I go researching, do you happen to have any suggestions for best easy ways to test this? My phone's android FWIW, but I also have a USB to MicroSD adapter so I can run tests in Linux or Windows. Cheers!
  2. Edit: just got vbrfix and tried it on the offending file & it turns out it's not VBR anyway, so that rules that out...
  3. Hi folks, Necromancing this thread which was autoclosed; I have the same issue, some tracks skip to the next despite not being finished. I've found this to be repeatable for a specific track (attached) at 43 seconds at the end of "warm summer breeze that pass us by". Also if I manually drag the progress bar around to skip to that bit, it's often at ~1:17 not 43 seconds. I presume this could be related to the vbr issue discussed on the original thread? I tried to get vrbfix but it looks like Will's site is dead despite the most recent release being this May (2023). Possibly I could get an old version somewhere to work - looks like it was in the Ubuntu Bionic repos. Any advice gratefully received. I bought this track from Beatport; I'm only aware of it definitely happening to one other track, but I suspect it's happened to others. Max said in 2019 "Making decoder a bit more resilient to incorrect files like this is a good thing, but it may break number of other tracks, so I do that with extra care. Added to TODO list. " Do we know if anything was done on that front? Thanks all! Barry Can't Swim - Like The Old Days.mp3
  4. Connected to bluetooth headphones (FWIW): If I pause the music, then potentially wait a while (not sure if relevant to diagnosis), the widget play/pause status displays the pause symbol, i.e. it thinks it's playing when it's paused, which is incorrect.
  5. Fantastic, thanks for this Andre. Sorry for the slow reply - had this tab open forever, until I finally had the mental bandwidth to really process it! So in my example, where I use Folders Heirarchy prettymuch all the time, for /Singles, e.g. /Singles/Deep House, I can't have a different sort order, but I CAN instead goto Folders/Deep House, and set the Folders sort order to Filename, or Artist (both seem to be the same since I name my files "Artist - Title.mp3"). Cheers pal!
  6. Cheers Andre. Interesting, seems like something may be screwy on my system then. Tried "ok google, play Albatross in Poweramp" and had the expected "got it, asking Poweramp to play albatross", shows the same screen above, gives me the first guitar note, then stops. Screen is where it was previously (Ocean Colour Scene) with Albatross paused at 0 seconds in the bottom taskbar. If I hit that and press play, it resumes from after the first note. I'll give it a restart and see what happens. After reboot: opens PA on Albatross but doesn't play. This is on an Asus ZenFone6, Android 11, latest version of Google app (I presume, I keep up updated), and no extra app.
  7. Thanks for this Andre. It said "sure, asking Poweramp to play [album] by [artist]", has a touch prompt with 2 options, one with the name of the album, and one asking to open Poweramp (kinda). I did nothing (much of the point of this is to be able to do it hands free) and it opened '98 Freestyle by Big L, which might be the first track by track name ('98) though I'm not sure. And it didn't play it, just opened Poweramp (which had been open but paused in the background). Tried again, clicked first option, it opened [trackname] which is the same as [album], but by a different artist (asked for Olympia by Gorgon City, got Olympia (track) by Sundara Karma. Also didn't play). Tried the second option, worked the same as the first. Tried "play Olympia album by Gorgon City in Poweramp", same result as before. If I click the second option "open Poweramp", it opens Olympia by Sundara Karma and plays it. Maybe because it was already open though. Let's try something unambiguous. "sure, opening Harvest by Neil Young in Poweramp.... .... .... something went wrong. Please try opening the app to continue" Closed google assistant & Poweramp. Trying again. "ok, asking Poweramp to play Harvest by Neil Young" I have to click the top option, goes to Harvest (song) from Harvest (album) by Neil Young. I have to click play. Let's try again. Turns out the first option isn't an option it's a title bar. One has to click the "open Poweramp" each time. Trying OK Computer by Radiohead. 3rd try, opened Poweramp. Harvest by Neil Young continues. Looks like it doesn't like albums, maybe tracks only. Paranoid Android by Radiohead: played the second version of the song (heads on the radio, live & bootlegs) rather than the first version in the list, from OK computer. Illogical. List seems to be tracks ordered by name, all from the same artist. "play the album OK computer in Poweramp": something went wrong. (repeated, does the same every time, even though it knows it's al album by Radiohead even if I don't say album nor Radiohead. If I then click on 'open the app', it continues playing the previous song (paranoid android bootleg). Ok, giving up. I presume this is google assistant's fault?
  8. Hi chaps, related to this, is it possible to have different sort options for certain folders? I have folders hierarchy: /A/A artists/Albums/song /B/ ... /S/ /Singles/Ambient/ /Singles/BossaNova/ ... /T/ etc For all folders I want sort to be "disc #, track #" Except /Singles/ which I want to be "Artist, TrackName". Is that possible? Based on Andre's comment about 'Hierarchy Files Zoom Level' above, it seems like you can set sort options for Folders differently to Folders Hierarchy? Thanks!
  9. I don't know if this counts as a bug, or if I can change this behaviour (I've looked unsuccessfully), but in Folder Heirarchy view of the Library, my folders are organised (e.g.): A/Artist/Album1/songs.mp3 A/Artist/Album2/songs.mp3 A/Artist/other_songs1.mp3 A/Artist/other_songs2.mp3 Since PA plays music in top-to-bottom order within folders (e.g. within Album1), intuitively the play order within /Artist/ would be: /Album1/song1.mp3 ... /Album1/songLast.mp3 /Album2/song1.mp3 ... /Album2/songLast.mp3 /other_songs1.mp3 ... /other_songsLast.mp3 /Artist2/ i.e.: Folders in order, then songs in order, then next folder. BUT The order it goes in is: /other_songs1.mp3 ... /other_songsLast.mp3 /Album1/song1.mp3 ... /Album1/songLast.mp3 /Album2/song1.mp3 ... /Album2/songLast.mp3 /Artist2/ i.e.: root folder songs in order, then folders in order, then next folder. Is there any chance this could be fixed? Thanks! Poweramp build number: build-939-bundle-play [939004-333c8a71] your device model: Asus ZenFone 6 your Android version: 11 your custom ROM name/version (if you're on custom ROM): NA steps to reproduce: play music in Folder Heirarchy view, for Artist folders with folder albums and loose songs.
  10. Folks does this still work for you? "Ok Google play album harvest" Opens in YouTube every time. I've deselected YouTube as a provider. I've added "play" as an app shortcut for Poweramp. I don't seem to be able to add Poweramp as a provider. Anything I'm missing? Cheers.
