Are you letting the forum know that high-rex output works on your Moto Z, or asking for it to be added? This thread is for confirmed working reports.

Andre

I've been using Poweramp for about 1 year with my LG V10 Alpha 704, works great on high res option through headphones, upgraded to LG G6 H870DS with Quad dac, will not work with high res option for headphones, says, failed, please add high res support. LG G6 H870DS

Nougat 7.0

I'm torn between keeping my v10 instead of the G6 because of this issue.

In an other post I said it was working with Onkyo DP-X1A but in fact it does not I tried to apply this trick

it is not working  Probably because of a software update here some links witch can be useful to help to implement Power-amp V3 on Onkyo the first one from Pergasus21

Please fix it for the Onkyo DP-X1A Hi res player

Want to add the fact that the link changed, I think it is the forum updated. I tried today with Poweramp alpha 703, it shows the Hi-Res menu but the status shows Poweramp down sample the file from 96 to 48, play at output 16bit 48k

The correct link are below for DP-X1, DP-X1A should be the same as they are identical just the model number different. Thanks

This DAP has hardware capable to play file up to 24/192000Hz, here you can find a post from Pegasus21 with some good infos (I think)

And here a logcat from original Onkyo media player and other third parties applications:

Your device supports Hi-Res audio _output_* (at least 24bit, at least 96khz sampling rate), but Poweramp v3.0 alpha doesn't support it?
Request the support here!

Please provide (requests without these items will be deleted):

  1. Device model
  2. ROM version (Android version, stock/OTA/Custom ROM)
  3. Why do you think your device supports Hi-Res (link to device features, etc.)? A copy of your device's /etc/audio_policy.conf file may be helpful.

Please note, this is for Hi-Res output requests, just playback (with resampling) of hi-res audio is already implemented by Poweramp v2.0 for all devices/ROMs.

I just opted in for the Alpha version. What I noticed is that Poweramp build 703 only detects Snapdragon 24-bit PCM. I believe this is the DAC used by Qualcomm. V10 also has a 32- bit Hi-Fi DAC (and also AMP) by ESS. This can only be enabled using an iem with high impedance. Although the HiFi output feature of build 703 is working fine, but I wuld like to use the ESS DAC on Poweramp. Is there a way that this can be added?

By the way, I also tried the HiFi Dac fix but that also did not resolve this.

Hi Dave B,

Can you please check your HiRes output if it is showing the ESS DAC or Snapdragon 24-bit PCM? I have a LG v10 and running Poweramp build 703. On its Hi-res output is is showing a 24-bit snapdragon pcm. I believe Poweramp is using the qualcomm provided dac and not the ess saber.

Thanks.

1. HTC 10

2. PureNexus 7.1.2 (would consider switching to RR or Lineage if that's the only option).

3. Hi-Res working in alpha-build-704 when using Nougat stock or Sense custom ROMs (I tested on LeeDroid).  Not working for Android N Lineage/AOSP ROMs.

Thank you for all of your time and dedication to this project.  One of the first apps I ever purchased, and in no rush to see its latest/greatest iteration come to fruition.
