      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code. It is hoped this will be ready for final beta-testing by the end of the May. See forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Hello. There is a problem: increasing the volume, the sound immediately is quiet, and then becomes louder. This problem my Samsung GT 9070I and LENOVO K5 note A7020a40
  2. Poweramp version and build number : alpha-bulid-703-play(Full Version) Device : Samsung Galaxy S7 Gold Android Version :6.0.1 This issue started few days ago . When ever i play a song and when phone gets locked automatically , volume goes down and when unlocked (i mean if phone is active) then volume goes up .It sometime goes down when phone is active . i dont understand whats happening . the volume level bar is same but volume goes up down .
  3. If you could PLEASE implement an audio normalizer so that all songs are played back at the same level it would be greatly appreciated! I strongly feel that an extended initial load time for song analysis would be just fine if this feature could be put in to place. Please and thank you.
  4. Apparently, the new engine has a lower output gain (compared to 2.x or my Huawei stock music player) - trying to even up using EQ or replay gain / glo al playback gain leads to clipping. Tested using Huawei P8 Lite and Bluetooth headphones 'sound intone BT-06' Alpha v703
  5. Is it possible to reduce player volume during notifications. I know that pausing playback during notifications is an option but I'd prefer if playback continued at a lower volume if possible.
  6. Hi, I've noticed that when I use Poweramp with an external DAC (AudioQuest DragonFly), the volume has to be maxed out on both the phone and my external amp (Schiit Lyr 2) for it to be listenable. I've noticed that USB Audio Player Pro has a "Hardware Volume" setting that lets you change the volume of the DAC, which boosts the volume to a much more reasonable level to where I don't have to max out the volume knob on my external amp. Is this the same feature as the "Preamp" setting in Poweramp? I would much prefer to use Poweramp over USB Audio Player due to its better UI, but I want to max my volume on the phone without worrying about clipping or distortion. Is USB Audio Player's Hardware Volume setting the same thing as the Preamp function in Poweramp?
  7. Sound volume fluctuation from low to normal at random, volume just dips down for a 1-3 seconds and goes back, it repeats in 1-5 seconds again. It have something to do with Direct Volume Control, because when i disable it everything becomes normal again and never bugs out while it off. Switching off and on every other option in audio settings or equaliser/effects doesn't help. It's very annoying, please do something with it. Phone - Meizu MX4 on stock firmware Flyme OS 5.1.3.0A, Android version 5.1
  8. Hello, Since the last build, the volume buttons are acting weirdly. When the phone is not idle, changing volume takes up to one second before taking effect (e.g. switching from 0% volume to the first step takes some time to Poweramp to actually change the music volume, even using the in-app controls). I tried tweaking the volume steps from 30 steps to the original number, and other options butit does nothing. Other music players and games don't have this issue. When the phone is idle (black screen), pressing volume buttons doesn't change the volume, but longpress also doesn't skip/replay the current track. It's kinda annoying. I tried on the music player from Google and it didn't have thisissue. I'm using an OnePlus One under stock CM ROM (12.1.1). And as I said, the controls were working perfectly under the previous v3 build. I didn't see any other post with this issue, so I tried to reinstall the app but nothing changed.
  9. Hi Would be very helpful to have a volume slider always on screen (could be hidden but active) like the BS VIDEO PLAYER. Thanx in advance Wolfgang Ps Your player is the best. Works flawless with more than 300 gb of music on a ssd 500 gb.
  10. In Ordinary Phones does support Only 15 stage volume control whileHi-fi mode of v10support micro volume control of 75 stages. But Poweramp player doesn't support it. For example, When the volume is 0~4 The player doesn't make any sound. it tend to regard 0~4 as Normal Volume 0 and 5~9 as Normal Volume 1, ... I’m Sure I can't use this player without support of the micro volume control. I request you the function for those v10 users including me.
  11. I use Tasker to detect a BT connection and set the media volume to a specific level depending on which BT device I am connecting to and then Tasker starts Poweramp. However,Poweramp is overridingthe Tasker volume setting with whatever volume Powerampwas set to the last time I used it. For example when I connect to my motorcycle BT I want the volume at 100% and I control the speaker volume with the motocycle audio controls. Later I connect to a BT speaker in the house and Tasker sets the media volume to 5/15 but as soon as Poweramp starts playing the volume jumps back up to 100%. Then If I connect to the motorcycle again Tasker sets the media volume to 100% but as soon as Poweramp starts playing the volume resets to 5/15. I have tried checking/unchecking Direct Volume Control and it doesn't seem to have any effect on this. Currently it is unchecked. This has been driving me crazy - any suggestions will be most welcome. (Edit) Poweramp version 2.0.10-build-585-play running on OnePlus One, Exodus rom 5.1-20151228 (2nd Edit) I need to do more testing with this. Now it seems to behave properly at least some of the time so there may be something else going on. I'm marking it resolved for now.
  12. Auto Volume Leveler

I hate scrambling for the volume control on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) when a song recorded at a higher than average volume is played. Is it possible to have an auto volume leveler without having a muffling effect that some players have? Thanks.
  13. I am using KitKat and am unable to change tracks via volume keys, I have tried using another app which mimics the service, however the app would not let me set my volume to zero and was quite buggy. I have tried turning on each of the tweaks but none have made any difference. This feature did work on Jelly bean, but broke for some reason when I updated to Kitkat, the same happened with DVC. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Hi. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which has just updated to build N9005XXUGBOI2.The button on the wired headset used to goto pre/next track but now it only controls the volume. Is anyone else having the problem? I'm using Poweramp build 581. Thanks .
  15. hello, i have a request. please implement the Audiofocus Option for lowering the Volume(like a Volume bar whrer the user can set how much the volume should be lowered) during a notifivation or even more important navigation. the interrupt during navigation annoys me please do that. big thanks in forward.

  17. Hello guys. Im new here! First, I LOVE Poweramp! Best of all music player apps, seriously! So many great options and customizables. Its really cool! Instant buy for me! Would pay again! It even fixed my stupid turn off screen and sound problem. Sometimes when my screen went off, the music stopped too until I put it on again. Looks like it was some Sony Android Rom problem but there was a option in Tweaks to fix this lock. GREAT! Now only one problem remains for me. Sometimes, like around all 5 hours of playtime or something, the volume decreases to 50% and I get a popup with a warning about a Volume Warning and that listening to loud music can damage my ear... BLABLABLA, stop annoying me, and anyway, its not to loud on some of my headphones. This is really ANNOYING. Getting mad of it. There doesnt seem to be a inbuilt Sound option in Android to not show the warning or show it only once. Why? Seriously. Is Google really that dumb? They even seemed to inbuilt it deep into the Android system and without Rooting the device and use tools it doesnt seem to be possible to disable it. Why, for heavens sake? I dont want to root my device to disable or ignore this warning. Yes, I googled already for the problem but only found Rooting advises. I wanted to ask you if there is a way to disable/ignore it without rooting the phone. I have a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, if the info is relevant. Actually I wonder that there is no such option in Poweramp or is there and I just didnt find it? Would be nice if you guys could enlighten me. If not, I would like to request a option to disable the Volume warning or at least ignore it in Poweramp. Thanks for all replies!
  18. Playlist Volume Adjuster

Hello, This sounds easy enough to implement and I think it would be super handy! The problem: when playing back playlists some songs are louder and some are quieter. Which means every time I'm listening to a certain playlist I'm often fiddling with the volume rocker in between songs to adjust the volume for the next song to sound exactly how I like it. It would be great! if I had a way to do this operation once and for all. The solution: a menu item called "Playlist Volume Adjuster". Tap on it and you're taken to a list view of the playlist with a little slider next to every song. The slider range could be [-10,+10] and by default the indicator is set in the middle position at '0'. Changing the position of the indicator means that the volume of the song is always decreased/incremented accordingly when the song is played from the playlist. Thanks for considering implementing this feature. I purchased the app almost 4 years ago and I'm still very happy with it - this is the first time I've felt the need to request a feature. Cheers!
  19. Hi, I'm using Poweramp (full paid) version updated to 2.0.10-build-579, on an XPeria go (Android 4.1.2). The volume control is no longer active when the app is not displayed or the screen is locked. When the screen is locked, or when Poweramp app is not displayed (but is playing music in a background task), if I change the volume using the phone physical volume buttons, it does not change Poweramp volume but changes the phone/ringing volume. In previous versions (I could not say since when this changed), the volume buttons worked perfectly, i.e. changed Poweramp playing volume even when Poweramp was playing in a background task or when the screen was locked (this is the most practicle way of working I think). It seems like a bug to me... am I right ? ***edit*** rebooted the device, it works well now... bad interaction with phone application?
  20. Volume Ducking

Hello Poweramp Team (MaxMP), I'd like to request "Volume Ducking" feature when audio focus is lost. I know Poweramp has "Temporarily pause on short audio focus change (notifications/navigation/etc.)", but I'd prefer if the music volume can be just ducked instead of muted. Thank you. Sincerely,
  21. Hey There. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Fame and when i got Poweramp I felt as if the volume was too low, so I wanted to increase it more to my liking. Though it seems that is easier said then done as when trying to change this the limit option always seems to be the problem. When turned off I can use the equalizer settings to increase sound easily, though sadly it sounds like a complete distorted mess when you do this. And when its turned on I can't get it high enough for my liking as it seems to cap the volume too low. So I was wondering if there is a fix for this at all or if just my hearings getting worse. Thanks for reading and please send me any helpful tips you can. I would really appreciate it.
  22. Stepless volume adjustment

I bet its possible to use the preamp equalizer feature for stepless volume adjustment. Theory: You turn the volume wheel and PreAmp increases until the normal step begins and resets. Over and Over... If you know what I mean. (I`m not english)
  23. Hello there, new user. I just started using Poweramp after coming to Android from iOS, so far I think it's a tremendous app, tons of great options and customizability, but the one problem like many Android apps seem to have is no volume slider on the main screen. I know there is a volume knob in the EQ settings but I think adding a knob or slider on the main player screen would be great for those of us who don't want to press the hardware buttons all the time, it would not be difficult to implement as an option. Also, perhaps the ability to slide up and down on the album art to increase the volume and decrease. Anyway, great app aside from that so far, I will probably be buying the full version! Thanks.
  24. Sometimes the volume is set full when last heard the headphones but when it is reinserted during "auto resuming on headset are connected" is ON the sudden rise in volume can be injurious to ears so please set low volume when headphones are connected
  25. * Poweramp version 2.0.10 build 571 play (full version). * Device: Samsung GT-I9195. * Android version rooted 4.4.2 stock. Firmware: TMZ I9195XXUCNK5. * Earphones: Philips TX2 (1 button), Sony MDR-EX220LPB (no button). I have auto play selected on Poweramp for when earphones plugged in. It would most of the time play for 25 - 36 seconds then volume goes all the way down to pretty much silent. Sometimes it will stutter before completely gone, sometimes it can play longer, sometimes shorter, sometimes it will stutter again after about 5 minutes then silent again. 2 versions before this one it used to always play for 25 - 36 seconds, now it's more random. Usually, when I hit the Home button and screen lights up, it will continue to play until the screen turns off and 25 - 36 seconds lapsed. Only happens when earphone plugged in and screen is off. I used to have to kill the micro service then rerun. Now I can't see micro service, and killing it doesn't work as a temporary fix. Though, sometimes I can "fix" it by: pausing Poweramp in notification panel, hit X, unplug plug earphones, rerun from app drawer or let auto play. The problem comes back every time I plug in the earphones. Problem happens for both pairs of earphones. Also happened on rooted 4.4.2 stock XEF I9195XXUCNH5 firmware. Have tried turning off auto play, DVC, disabling other apps that might cause a conflict: Headset Button Controller, IVONA TTS. Stock music player has no problem whatsoever, other than teeny sound. Moon Reader will only have the same problem (TTS goes silent) after Poweramp had been run after rebooting, even once; but not before. Then I will need to fix it by fixing Poweramp. No games are affected.
