      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code. It is hoped this will be ready for final beta-testing by the end of the May. See forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. I know that playing songs from Google Play Music, Spotify, Apple Music, etc... could be difficult (or even ilegal). But Google Play Music have a 50.000 size personal songs library where you can upload your "own" songs. It would be really great to can play that songs from Poweramp. I think Poweramp is the best player, but nowadays nobody have all its songs library downloaded in the smartphone (I don't have any), we use any of that streaming services and personally that option with GPlay Music could be the perfect combination to still use Poweramp every day.
  2. Hello. Poweramp can't play some of my MP3s, while stock music player can play it normally. It says something like There has been a playing error and skips to next song. Also, the mp3 tags of these songs are missing in Poweramp. I tried to delete the songs from the phone and move them again, force close the app, delete cache, but it didn't help. Could you help me? Thanks. LG G2, 5.0.1, Poweramp 2.0.10-build-585-play
  3. I haven't been able to find an answer to this, so apologies if this has been addressed. Why does Poweramp need to verify my purchase through Google Play License Verification when I already have the Poweramp Unlocker installed? I found this out in a very unfortunate way and it disturbed me tremendously. I was in the middle of a trans-atlantic flight while listening to Poweramp when suddenly the music stopped and I received a pop-up message that Poweramp was not able to verify the purchase through Google Play License Verification/APM. I am sure this happened because I was in the air at 38,000 feet and I had the airplane mode turned on to disable any wifi and mobile data services. Anyway, I had the Poweramp Unlocker installed as well, so I am not sure why my license had to be verified online? I thought the purpose of the Poweramp Unlocker was to unlock Poweramp without having the need to verify a license online since I had already paid for it by buying the Unlocker? The reason why I found this most frustrating is that I no longer was able to use Poweramp for the rest of the duration of the trip because I was not able to get any mobile data service until I landed, which was about 5 hours later. I had to resort to the stock player that could not read my Poweramp playlists. I felt like I had paid for the license but was unfairly prevented from using it. So, was it something I missed in the settings to fix this? Or is there another explanation that I am aware of that justifies this? I feel that if Poweramp needs to verify a license through Google Play, that I shouldn't need to have the Unlocker installed or at the very least, it needs to warn you well ahead of time that it needs to verify a license so that someone doesn't get caught off guard and unable to verify their license for hours and therefore lose access to an app they paid for. Well, just wondering - not angry, but just frustrated that I couldn't use it when I really needed it.
  4. Hello! I buy the Poweramp this website. I like it very much Google Play auto update because all app is fresh and all new version auto install useful serive in Google Play. But Auto updated the Poweramp and the app lose my "Website" registration and wait this app sale but my region (Hungarian) not available the sale never. So anything the solution?
  5. When i press button for next or previous track or play pause button it responds some seconds later. For selective tracks. Not for all. For example i am playing a track 'A', I press next, track'A' keep playing for two three seconds. Then track'B' start, i press previous, track'A' start playing without any delay. This happens even when i swipe album art for changing song. And similar problem occurs when i press shuffle the graphic doesn't change but function is displayed accurately.
  6. Enqueue/play albums in order

I've noticed when I click and hold on an artist/folder with multiple albums/subfolders, the tracks are placed in the list based purely on track #. So all the ones are together, then all the twos, etc. The only way to enqueue an artist so that the albums play back to back in the proper track order seems to be enqueueing one album at a time, which can be tedious for an artist with lots of albums. I know its easy to swipe up or down to jump from album list to another, but it would be cool to just play an artist and have all the tracks in order.
  7. It would be great to allow play songs of a certain genre or album in order of score, you start playing the best qualified to least qualified and ultimately they were not qualified.Even another option that plays the best qualified down and then those who are unskilled in the random play
  8. Start with your desired song and then continue with the group you want, easily! Yeah! Suggestion: After finding a song, either by Search or by browsing through Folders/Lib, play then can be selected by holding down the track name or tapping the little drop-down icon for a menu to drop down which will have a play button or other options. Instead of a single play button, it would be fantastic if there were several play buttons (displayed also with text or inner icon) so the song will play and then be followed by songs of the same Genre, Album, Artist, or Folder easily depending on which Play Button is pressed. (Playing will be shuffled depending on the shuffle setting). The total number of Play buttons could be dictated by which List Options are selected (setting under All songs using Android setting button). You may say this feature is not needed, because you can hold and press play for a certain Folder/List and then that group will play. But often playing is wanted to be started from a certain track (and then followed by similar songs), or you just may want to play on from the track in a certain grouping which is different by how you found the track – especially if found by search! The multiple play buttons suggested is very straight forward, easy, self explanatory, and great! The exact desired grouping may not be known, but this method allows play from an example song that is located. Sometimes, a “play by filtered” dialog comes up, but I don’t know what’s this will do exactly or by what filter it’s using! It could be scrapped? The multiple play buttons is a direct simple great method isn't it? All the very best. Love to make Poweramp even better!
  9. I love that Poweramp is integrated with Google Voice Search, but I think it could go one step further and let you set a default action for the "Listen to..." command. Right now, it is essentially like doing a search within Poweramp and showing you the list of results. Since I (and I'm sure many others) primarily use the voice search in my car, this causes me to still have to look down and make a selection on my phone after the search. I think it would be convenient if we could have a default action once the search completes: either play top result, enqueue top result, or show results (the current implementation). My personal favorite would be the enqueue option, that way if I'm listening to a playlist but have a sudden urge to listen to a random song in my library, I could tell easily tell my phone to play it, after which it would return to the playlist, all without having to look at the screen. Thanks for the consideration.
  10. Biased random play

Hello, I'm searching for a biased random playlist. This means that I have a playlist with songs (which have been rated) and all songs get played, but the ones with 5 stars should be played 5 times more than those with 1 star. This allows to hear the songs I love a lot, but also to hear songs some times which I don't like that much. I couldn't find this in the feature list nor in the forum. I'd really like this feature and this is the only thing I'm missing in the wonderful Poweramp.
  11. I would like to be able to play a subset of my library. Specifically, on the Library view, I'd like to be able to play all Recently Added tracks, and shuffle between them. Same for Top Rated. It would work with an extended press on "Recently added" in tha same way it does with Albums. TIA!
  12. Can u consider adding the option to set the lockscreen as the default lockscreen? The amp lockscreen looks awesome but is only there when I play music, even then it doesn't show up sometimes... it sometimes disappear after I pause the music. I would love it if it can be always there so I don't have to unlock the screen and type in the pins number in when I want to play the music.
  13. Hello all, I am a happy owner of a Motorola Atrix ME860 and a true enthusiast of Poweramp. I have been using the official Car Dock for a few weeks, and there is one thing I miss from the player, and it's the possibility to resume music when connected to the car dock. I know there is the option to resume the music when connecting an audio jack or when connecting to bluetooth. But the Motorola Atrix Car Dock only has a Micro USB connector which automatically launches the Cardock app. Even though it can be configured to have the different apps on the main screen, having to open Poweramp manually and pressing play afterwards is too much for me (I'm a lazy person). Could it be possible to include an option to AUTO Resume or Auto Play when inserting into the Car dock?? This option would be fantastic! Thank you
  14. Export Playcount

Thank you for a great product. But I have a feature request. I use MediaMonkey as my music manager, and use it to sync my music to my Android phone. And I love using Poweramp, but I don't like that there is no way for my play count to be synced back to my MediaMonkey database. That is, I would love for MediaMonkey to reflect a play for songs that I listen to with Poweramp, after I sync it back to my MediaMonkey. The beauty of MediaMonkey is the ability to customize it with scripts. There is one MM user that has written a script that will update the playcount for songs played on the Android after syncing it with MM. All that is needed is for the Android music player to generate a file that contains play count, album, artist, title, etc. He wrote the script to work with the Android player called PlayerPro since they have that feature built in. Is there anyway that Poweramp can implement this feature? I would be very appreciative! Here is a link to the MediaMonkey forum for the script that does this: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=59888#p308062 And here is a link to PlayerPro: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tbig.playerpro&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS50YmlnLnBsYXllcnBybyJd Please let me know if I can do anything to help. Thank you again for a great app!
  15. I love Poweramp. I bought it long ago (not when it was on sale) and use it on a daily basis for hours on end. However, I have a couple small gripes... First off the bat, I often have problems regarding queued tracks and track that are currently playing. I've posted about this in the past but either it flies over most people's heads, or no one gives a toss. Hopefully I get some feedback this time. I like to queue up a good two or three hours worth of albums and then let it play while I work at my day job. Often I will browse for an artist in the Library, go into an album, and then select the first track, then it plays. The rest of the album is not queued per se, but will play following that first track. I don't know if this has a specific name, but I refer to it as Now Playing. My settings are such that I can go back into the Library and select more albums, long press them and queue them. The setting that allows this is in Settings > Advanced > Queue, and then Start Playing Queue is set to After Current List. Sometimes I will queue up albums without playing something first using the Now Playing method I mention at the start of this paragraph. Here's where I have a problem though, and I have a suggestion that would fix it. Sometimes I'll start playing something (like mentioned above with the Now Playing method) and then queue up more albums. I might come across a song I love, and want to go back and listen to it again. If I accidentally tap too far, beyond the first track of the Now Playing music, the Now Playing album is gone, and instead I am presented with the last entry of music in my Library, which is usually a band starting with Z. So I've accidentally navigated all the way to the very end of my Library and going forward brings me to the queued albums , but not the Now Playing album. I have to go back into my Library and play it again. Here's my suggestion: Instead of having a Now Playing method or mode, why not make everything that is played on the fly put into the queue? It's just like how Winamp works.
  16. A Purpose to Star Ratings

Smartplay Who will it be beneficial for? People who often listen to their entire library on shuffle People who like listening to songs on shuffle People who use the star ratings on their songs What is it? A checkbox feature that will play songs that you like, more often than others How will it work? When enabled, songs that are have higher star ratings have a higher probability of being the next song to be played on "shuffle" mode. Vice versa with songs with low star ratings. // Comments, opinions, criticism?
  17. playy all?

In the old version it was intuitive to select/play all files in a folder. I can't find the option in 2.0. Am I just blind??? DOH! always happens - after asking i find it. Sorry to waste your time...
