      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code. It is hoped this will be ready for final beta-testing by the end of the May/early June. See forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Now, when click on Folders icon next to a song title on bottom, a popup appears with the following items: Artist, Album, Folder. I suggest to add an option in player's "Settings" which would allow to go directly to Artists/Albums/Folders omitting the popup. I think, this option will be very useful for those guys who use most of time only one item from Artists, Albums and Folders.
  2. Hello, this has been already many times asked in this Forum. I'm talking about 'Short Audio Focus' and Poweramp. Actually the only way that Poweramp handles 'Short Audio Focus' is pausing the song. This is actually nice if you have headphones connected and you don't want to listen to your song on the external loudspeaker when a message or whatever arrives. Ok, till there everything is fine. But it's not the same while connected via Bluetooth to your car head unit. So in combination with a Navigation app (Let's say TomTom for example) + Poweramp, every time the navigation says you should turn, the music just stops playing, and after finishing talking the music resumes. This is deadly annoying when you're driving inside of a city, then the music sounds like a scratched CD from the 90's.. stopping every 5 to 10 seconds. The proposed solution is always disable the 'Pause Song while Short Audio Focus', then the song keeps playing while the navigation app is talking.. but the song loudness is as loud as the voice talking, so you end up being unable to understand what the navigation system is saying, so it gets annoying again. FEATURE REQUEST: -> So again, I would like to request as an option to enable 'Song Volume Lowering on Short Audio Focus'. There are a lot of topics in this forum asking about this feature, and there are even some of them where the developers even answer. http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/5610-volume-ducking/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/5848-lower-volume-of-music-when-google-maps-prompts/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/2873-mute-or-lower-volume-during-google-navigation-speech/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/4591-lower-volume-on-notifications-short-audio-focus-change/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/4468-volume-duck-instead-of-pause-while-playing-with-google-navigationwaze/ http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/8287-audiofocus-option-for-lowering-volume-during-notificationsnavigation/ ... The developers said: For a workaround for this issue, it could be a Bluetooth only feature (So it would work on Samsung and in others) and the annoying problem would be gone and everyone happy. I hope I'ill get a response from the developers, I would like to know if they would consider implementing this possibility or if everyone should stop asking about this feature (which the android stock player has by default). Greetings.
  3. Could you increase it a bit, because i very often miss it. Anybody running into the same problem?
  4. hello, i have a request. please implement the Audiofocus Option for lowering the Volume(like a Volume bar whrer the user can set how much the volume should be lowered) during a notifivation or even more important navigation. the interrupt during navigation annoys me please do that. big thanks in forward.
  5. It's so easy to navigate within a track... Competitors: http://www.mikrosonic.com/system/assets/164/original/Select_Music_Player_Tablets.png
  6. Hi, I often use my phone to listen to radio shows or videos and frequently have to rewind by a few seconds to replay a part I did not quite understand or hear clearly. On the video player I use, the arrows can conveniently be set to fast-rewind or fast-forward by increments of a user defined time (1, 2, 3, ... 5 seconds, etc.) on the file that is being played. This makes replaying much more ergonomic than using the progress bar. Currently, the fast-rewind and fast-forward arrows are set to go to the next file on a list. Would you please consider to enable users to define the effect of these arrows? Thank you, in advance, for your attention.
  7. I bought the full version of Power Amp and while it's a great music app I'm having two issues with it. I'm running it on a "AVIN E46 Avant Series Android Stereo Navigation System" in my BMW. The system runs on Gingerbread. 2.34. Here are the issues: Power Amp closes when I launch a Navigation App like Scout. I can't use the steering wheel controls to change songs. (Works on Default Music Player and Radio) The weird thing with the first issue is that if I reopen Power Amp I can hear the NAV system run in the background and I can use Power Amp as long I don't change the screen to the NAV system. If I keep Power Amp or any other window as the focus other than the NAV app, Power Amp will keep playing. Fustrating since I would like to use Power Amp instead of the default music player as the sound quality is so much better with Power Amp. Thanks!
  8. I only discovered Poweramp last week, and I must say that I'm very impressed! Ease of use, sound quality, responsiveness, it's a hell of a thing. I've been using it with my car's BT audio controls. Most of the controls work, but a few don't, and I don't know if there's something I'm doing wrong, or if it's just something that hasn't been implemented. The car's audio controls include folder navigation buttons as well as random and repeat buttons. These don't seem to have any effect on Poweramp. Should they? I haven't tried fiddling with the single/double/triple press settings, but I think it'd be neat if the folder controls would be recognized. FYI it's the stock stereo that came in a 2013 Corolla.
  9. Hello, I'd like to have Poweramp simply drop volume momentarily instead of pausing while using Google Maps/Navigation (like with the Play Music app). Is there any option for this? Thanks
  10. Hello! I'm new to Android but not at all new to computers and media players. I've been busy evaluating different players in the market and the stock one on Galaxy S II. Poweramp comes very close to what I expect of a player, thank you!. I've got one question, though. If I start playing from All Songs list and then come back to Library I'm presented with currently playing song in the list All Songs. If I start with Album or Artist - same thing happens. But is there an easy way (without the need to search) to jump from currently playing song to the respective entry in every list? Let me clarify: let's say I started playing song X from All Songs and I've got shuffle on, after couple of songs I come to song Y and I realise I would like to hear more _from the same album_ or _from the same artist_, so I tap Library shortcut at the bottom of the player (where song details are) and I'm in All Songs displaying song Y. But if I now go to Albums or other category there is no an easy way to locate currently playing song short of scrolling or searching. I've noticed an option called 'Keep list scroll position' but I'm not sure what it does or if it's working at all. Am I missing something? Does it qualify for a Feature Request? Thank you m.
  11. This Idea popped into my head the other day and I haven't been able to get rid of it, so I thought I'd share it and see if anyone else thinks it's as good as I do... Currently in the main "player" screen there are two different ways of skipping forward and backward through tracks. You can either use the buttons below the album art, or you can swipe on the album art itself. However, in order to select a different track in the album or playlist you are currently listening to, it is necessary to go back into the library menus. A good way around this (I think) would be to remove the track skip when swiping on the album art and instead implement a feature whereby drawing from right to left on the album art gradually brought a track listing in from the left side of the screen. The track list would move in synchrony with the users finger, and would disappear if the finger was lifted. with the users finger moving right to left, and the track listing moving left to right, the two would eventually meet. The user would be able to choose the next track by moving his finger up or down until it rested over the desired track and then lifting, causing the track to play. Its quite a simple idea, and I've probably made it sound more complicated than it is, but it's surprisingly difficult to explain without pictures! but basically the track listing would always move in synchrony with the users finger, (however in the opposite direction). Thereby making selecting a different track from the current album or playlist extremely quick, and more of a "swipe gesture" than something requiring multiple taps. Let me know what you think, I think its a great idea, but then I might just be going mad!
  12. I find Poweramp the only player capable (without glitches or lack of basic functions) of providing navigation without the need to look on the screen - music is for listening, not watching. I'm talking about lockscreen and its swipe navigation. Hovewer it needs polishing - 2 additional features: 1. swipe to move seek bar - inside as song: I would consider adding an option for that and implement it by aplying the same geasture as for swipe-to-move-to-the-next-track but with keeping pressing after swipe. Of course any other clever geasture would suffice 2. option to remove/block other ways of navigation - software buttons on the screen (it's only a source of problems if you don't look on the screen) PS: of course hardware keys navigation is better but who can provide that.
