      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. When viewing Album Artist I only got art showing for the first 146 artists, the rest are blank. Sorting with Albums, Artists and Genres, all art appears correctly. I use only locally stored art, no download. I got all my music stored on a 200 GB SDXC in a single folder (~20.000 VBR-0 tracks) with art stored individually in each file (50-250 kB) ----- Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (E5823), Android 7.1.1 Stock
  2. I'm using 2.0.10-build-588. I have no idea how this is even happening. It makes no sense. There's this one album that shows the wrong album art. I don't even know where Poweramp is finding this picture because it's not in the tags that I specifically made to have a specific album art. Where the hell could it be getting this album art? It doesn't exist on the file. It previously existed, but there's no excuse or fathomable reason for it to display anything other than what I specifically put in the tags. I have deleted the album art cache, I have full rescanned, renamed the files, completely reencoded this album, where THE **** is this picture even coming from? Brand new, freshly encoded mp3s and it's still pulling an image that shouldn't exist out of its ***. The download album art feature is not enabled. It's not even the artwork file I'm using because a different album displays the correct image when both albums are using the same file. I have no image files in my music folder, all this is in the mp3 tags. So then, when I hold down on the album art where you normally get the option to set the album art, Poweramp crashes. As I was typing this, the album art finally updated. The last thing I tried was to change the actual album name in the mp3 tag, something I shouldn't have to do. Why should I have to compromise and add an extra space or change the album name AT ALL just for Poweramp to work properly. I specifically had the album name without an extra space that doesn't belong, but somehow changing it got Poweramp to stop being stupid. Meanwhile I have waited FOREVER numerous times to do full rescans only for it to be finished scanning WITHOUT EVEN FINDING ALL MY FILES, so I have to constantly rescan again and again just so Poweramp does its job. Why the **** would it finish scanning when there are clearly more files to add to the library? I payed for this app...and I have to constantly deal with this stupid ****, but this album art tag problem took the cake for the worst level of incompetence I have ever witnessed out of Poweramp. Go figure, the album art problem goes away but now I am still doing full rescans over and over again till entire artists that are missing from my library reappear.
  3. Hi, The album art downloading and saving in PA works very well. However I would like to save these images to some folder and reuse in other music players on my laptop. Where do I find these images on my mobile phone (Galaxy J7)? Thanks
  4. Yes i know there are a lot of topics regarding that issue but i don't seem to find a solution, album art isn't downloading and it wasn't doing so in the last version, i know that on some music the tags could be missing , but not on all 920 tracks Lenovo Vibe V2 lolipop 5.0
  5. All my song album art is displayed in a rather low resolution in the widget. The resolution is fine when in app. I've tried restarting my device, restarting the app, and changing between different albums. I just downloaded the app for this device and haven't had this issue with my previous phone (Moto X). I've tried different album arts but the art in the attached screenshot is an 1800 x 1800 jpg. Poweramp Version: 2.0.10-build-588-play Device: Motorola Nexus 6 (NBD92G) Android Version: 7.0 on stock Android
  6. Just Got The V3 And Looks Nice Only Issue So Far Is Album Art Shows Up Then Goes Black/Disappears Comes Back Once Tapped On, Running 6.0.1 Marshmallow Galaxy S6
  7. Hi there. We can control playing from lockscreen. Can change track and also can seek it. Here shows album art if enabled. But I thought, if we can see visualization, it will be awesome. And I love visualization. So please add lockscreen visualization in stead of album art on lock screen if possible... Thank you.
  8. Poweramp alpha-build-703-play [MIUI 8 7.1.20][Android 6.0.1][Xiaomi 4] It is a cue track problem. When one song finished, the next song start playing, all information on the main screen still remains the last song, and does not change even another song comes. Remind that I turned on shuffle music. And I had add cue files to my playlist. Please fix this as soon as possible!
  9. Is there no possibility to change in easy way album art ? I think it should be done by simply tapping on cover and choose a few alternatives. At present I have about 30% folder covers absolutely not matching the artist/albums !! (though there are correct tags - ie. Shakespeare poem wtf?? ) and the rest 40% covers coming from correct albums but which i dont want to be displayed (I would like to have specific adequate album cover) . It's annoying. I tried to put cover.jpg in almost every folder but its not good solution - my phone images applications gather all images on phone - adding 100 covers create a one big mess)
  10. Hi all. As some artists use more than one album cover for the album, i think this feature is a must have. By adding little settings like "time to change" would be cool. The arts can be read from file's tag. I have some albums those use 6 covers like Rammstein's Sehnsucht, which one of its art is more popular but not the priority. Thanks and good luck to developers!
  11. When I placed a album art image, cover.jpg for example, in a folder with multiple mp3 or other audio files, I can see the image in Library>Albums list. But if only cue + single audio file, like wav, flac, ape, etc. in that folder, the image is not showed up. Can you have that image displayed?
  12. Misleading album art covers how can change them or simply cut them
  13. Lets get serious here folks. Virtually every credible Android app has a backup and restore solution, either using the Google account, an app-specific online account or save/restore to a local SD card. Poweramp does not. After spending months tagging ratings on songs, updating album art in some cases, dialing in equalizer settings, didding the many many settings within the app, don't even think about resetting the device to factory default or replacing it. All your personalizations are gone. (I don't use Titanium backup - I don't root my phone.) So either don't bother with using ratings or loading album art since all of your work is throwaway. Typically you don't get to find that out until you try to restore your device, then it’s a slap in the face. Now, on the hand, the developers could chose to solve the problem that they claim is difficult. I've developed enough software over the years to truly believe that a robust solution could be made. Perhaps its just priorities. I think it’s a basic, fundamental feature that every credible app should have. This is a serious gap.
  14. Hi, This is one feature I would want to add. Right now, many songs' actual album art are not found by Poweramp's album art search. What I get is mostly some video's thumbnail or similar incorrect images. There's no option from where anyone can add additional sources/websites where the search can be addressed. Other than downloading and adding the album cover (which isn't saved permanently, and is an old feature request), there isn't much that could be done.
  15. The downloaded album art are not available when they are send or copied elsewhere. Pls include this feature.
  16. Hi there, Being new to the Android family, I instantly fell in love with Poweramp as it fulfilled all my music needs. Recently I was tinkering in the settings and saw the option for testing of the new version. I enrolled and downloaded the alpha 3 version. Here are some of the bugs I've found. 1. The Poweramp lock screen doesn't work at all. 2. The album art sometimes goes missing in the notification area 3. DVC doesn't seem to be working in the Hi-Res output. Also the audio is crackling a bit. Reducing the sampling rate doesn't work. No crackling issue with Hi-Res output disabled. 4. You have to pause-play the current track for it to be scrobbled. Device details- Lenovo Vibe K4 Note (Vibe X3 Lite) running on Marshmallow 6.0 Do let me know if further information is required for debugging.
  17. I can see the albumarts only when I turn on the screen of a phone which has paired of my Samsung Gear S2. If I turn off the screen, I can't see any album arts on my Samsung Gear S2. Is this a fixable issue?
  18. Hello all, First I would like to apologize if there already is a topic such as this (I was not able to find one) I am using Poweramp on my Galaxy S5 running PhoeniX ROM. For a while now I've noticed that Poweramp will not find any album art, I can see the circle spinning for about 2 seconds, but then it stops and nothing is displayed. I just updated to Poweramp 2.0.10 (build 587) but the issue is still the same. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Poweramp v3 (ALPHA-3 test builds 703 / 704) for standard (ARM-based) Android devices. Released: 16 April 2016 This is alpha version of upcoming major Poweramp release. Please make backup of your existing Poweramp app/settings/db before installation as you won't be able to rollback to Poweramp v2 without alpha uninstallation, causing settings to be lost. You can install it over your existing v2 installation (your purchase and settings will be carried over). At this time, only ARM processors are supported. We'll add Intel support for later beta builds. Min. supported Android: 4.1. Skins are disabled in alpha as UI is partially changed and there is no point in (re-)building skins now. Alpha-3: - added DVC support for Hi-Res Snapdragon 24-bit PCM variant (e.g. LG Gx/v10, HTC A9, etc.) - Hi-Res support for Sony Z3, Meizu 5 Pro, Lenovo Vibe X3 - Look and Feel / Status Bar/Notification / Notification Colors option to override non-standard ROM notification colors - mp3 vbr seeking improvements - 2 Hi-Res API variants (Sony Hi Res and Snapdragon 24-bit offload) for Sony Z5/P - option to always process/send album art (useful for smartwatches) - bt pause/resume polishing - scrobbling fixes, removed obsolete ScrobbleDroid support - album art downloading update - language selection fix - better current output device detection (wired headset vs bt) - other few small fixes
  20. This bug is present since i purchased Poweramp years ago. When the Album Art is a wide image, the buttons to switch songs are disappearing. The attached image says more than 1000 words. Please fix this by setting max-width for widget album art. Thanks.
  21. On the old version of Android before I upgraded my phone the lock screen would have a zoomed in full screen album art that looked quite neat - I didn't see it very often because I had a cover that unlocked the screen when opened. Now that I'm on a later version of Android - Marshmallow - I don't get much on the lock screen. Is this down to the OS rather than Poweramp, or am missing some settings that can bring it back?
  22. The queue seems to have a few issues that need to be looked at. I can make one just fine and it starts playing as it should when my current song ends. But after updating to the newest version (build 702) I can no longer swipe on the album art to change song when the queue is playing. It doesn't seem to make any difference what songs are in it, how many are in it or where it currently is in the queue. I can only change by clicking the buttons. As soon as the queue ends swiping works as normal. Another issue is that album arts aren't displayed correctly in the queue. It displays one album art for the entire queue (art for the song that was supposed to be played with no queue). Locking and unlocking the device seems to fix the art. EDIT: New issue has arising when I went to test it one last time. Now the queue only plays the first and last song, it skips over everything else. After restarting the app I've not been able to replicate it sadly, though it did happen 3 times before I restarted the app.
  23. Poweramp version and build number:2.0.10 build number 580Your device model:Galaxy S4Your Android version:5.0.1All right so this problem has been reported before but it extends to Android Wear, Poweramp will show black album art for music controls on Android Wear unless you turn on your phone screen. 24. I can see the album arts only when I turn on the screen of a phone which has paired of my Samsung Gear S2. If I turn off that, I can't see any album arts on my Samsung Gear S2. Is this a fixable issue?
  25. I purchased Poweramp and when I tried to play my music it does not show anything about the track except a track number. I downloaded my music from Google play on my phone on my SD card. Everything shows correctly on Google Play. Is there anyway to correct this. I can't see my Albums, Album Art, or the Names of art and song. I am a newbie of Poweramp and only used Google play for music
