      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code and is taking some time to get to a beta-test stage. See the forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. I'm still using Winamp as a music player on my PC and what I love about Winamp is the option to remove played songs from the playlist and save that state when it's closed. This way I never hear the same song twice. I use Poweramp on my S7 for a couple of days now and that option I could not found and miss that already. Is it possible to add that option to Poweramp? This way I can switch between playlists and only hear the songs that are not played yet. Thanks
  2. I imported a new .m3u playlist into Poweramp. It's in the same folder as my other playlists. It will not populate. I've rescanned, deleted, reimported, rescanned again, and it still says zero songs. I've never had this happen before. Any ideas?
  3. It would be great to be able to export and import playlist's to Itunes on a pc.
  4. Hi, Would it be possible to have an option to sort songs by ratings and, for the songs that do not have any stars, keep them sorted by album, instead of alphabetical order? For example, I created a quick playlist with four albums. In these albums I have rated a few songs. If I sort the songs by ratings, all the not rated ones get sorted by alphabetical order. It would be interested to have the not rated songs still in the album order, with just the rated ones playing first.
  5. I know how to add songs in playlist. I want to know how do I add multiple songs in a playlist at once
  6. I have noticed that since 703 update, the shuffle playlist feature only rotates about 100 songs out of the 2000+ I have. The algorithm either appears to be corrupted or has a very limited spectrum. I have tried: Rebooting the device Reshuffling the order Deleting/recreating playlist Other media players do not display this issue with the same playlists (played songs I had almost completely forgot about because of Poweramps's "shunning"). Was not able to resolve the issue. Anyone else experience this issue? Trying to determine if my issue is isolated to my device. My device: Verizon LG G4, Android 6.0
  7. I happened 4 times now, it occurred randomly and because this i loose playlist with hundreds of songs, and also loosed all rating in my 3000+ songs so its really annoying I notice that this happened one time after an app crash and app freeze, today happened when playing all the song from one artist in a row, between 2 albums the player send me to the first song of all the song that i have and started playing all songs
  8. Hello, using playlists is the most important feature for me and the reason why I choose power amp - because it is one of the few apps, where I can Import playlists from the computer. The playlists are always much easier beeing orginized on a computer. I import them to power amp with the function of the app ("Einstellungen - Ortner und Bibliothek - Importiere Systembibliothekswiedergabelisten"). I don't know the path in english; must be something like "Options - Folders - Import of Playlist". In the last weeks, power amp also Imports playlist files, which are delated in the folders power amp should use for the import function. I don't know, how power amp imports a delated (in the folders for the import, not in Poweramp itself) playlist. Power amp then duplicates the playlists. And with my latest playlist (another change of an old playlist) the app imports the old version of the playlist (which I've delated both in power amp and in the Import folder) and not the new version. The new version is mentioned below all other playlist with the addition "noch nicht geladen" (means about "not loaded yet"). Please correct these mistakes in the app. By the way - it is disturbing, that I have to delate the playlists in the Import folders, because power amp always duplicates the playlists while importing and noch overwrites them. This mistake should be corrected, too. But it's not that important. P.S.: I use an Huawei P8 lite with Android 6.0
  9. Today, my phone battery died. Once I managed to charge it up for awhile, I restarted the phone and noticed that all of the songs that were in my playlists (including one that's 500+ songs) have disappeared from the playlists. They're still on the SD card and still show up in Poweramp, but my playlists have all been cleared of any music. This is the first time this has happened in around 9 months of using Poweramp. My phone battery has died a handful of other times and I've had no problem like this. Apologies if this has come up in other older posts, but I thought I'd submit it so it's still getting attention. It's pretty frustrating, since playlists are a major part of the way that I listen to music.
  10. This is useful if you need to make a specific length playlist. Surprised it's not a feature already. A better system for saving playlists would be nice, mine keep getting cleared. Very annoying when you spend so much time making then. Do this for V3 and I'll happily pay again
  11. This bug is 100% reproducible by trying the following steps. import an album which is cuesheet.(we mark this as Album A) add some music of other album into a playlist(or create a new playlist), we mark this playlist as Playlist A add one of any track (mark as Track S) of the Album A into Playlist A. Play Playlist A from the beginning or the Track S Make sure your play mode is repeat off and shuffle off. After Track S completes, the track after the Track S in Album A will be played not the track after Track S in PlayList A. And the Player UI just not stops the ending position of Track S, not updates current playing track information. Expectation: After Track S completes, Player should play the track after Track S in Playlist A not Album A.
  12. I'd like to see some improvement in the playlist organization feature. Creating a playlist is super easy as is adding tracks to one. Love the simplicity of it. My challenge comes from reordering tracks in the playlist. For short lists, moving tracks up or down is easy enough. But I have some lists that are pretty big and using the drag method is a big challenge as the list doesn't scroll easily to move the track. It would be nice to maybe enumerate the tracks when ordering the list. If I go to edit the list order, maybe the number appears by the track, making it available to a manual edit to reorder it's number in the list.
  13. Hi - I have just downloaded the trial version of Poweramp. I am impressed with its features. I normally add music to my multiple playlists on the fly but I have noticed if the same song file is on the playlist it duplicates it rather than prevent or display a confirmation message that this will be done. Any chance of: 1. Displaying a warning message when adding a song already on a playlist? 2. tool to review playlists to identify possible duplicates? Thanks! - ensuring I have unique songs on a playlist is a big thing for me. I am aware it will be difficult if the same song is on different file types / file name etc, but it should pick up whether the same song file is added more than once.
  14. I would like to know the location of playlist files. Elsewhere I found the suggestion thaty they are located at: data/data/com.maxmpz.audioplayer/databases/folders.db However searching at this location gives two directories - cache and files. Cache is empty Files goes down to music - which is also empty. Any advice or suggestions welcome Thanks.
  15. Hi, Just bought Poweramp from Google Playstore. It is an amazing app! I do not know if this is already in the settings but I am unable to find it. I want all the songs that have already been played in a playlist to change color. This is helpful when you switch between playlists. All that is needed is if the play-head crosses from the end of 1 song to the next one in a playlist the previous song title changes color. This is already implemented in Queue! All the songs that have been played change color to dark grey. Is there some setting I need to switch-on to make this feature work in Playlist as well? (I have read on the forum that the last played song in a playlist is not remembered if you play some other song. So this simple sensible workaround is not available). I hope the above feature actually exists for playlist since it has already been implemented for Queue else it makes Poweramp much less useful for me. Thank you.
  16. Sorry, if this has been posted before but I find that from time to time I need to reorganise my songs/folders. In doing so, any playlists that contained any of these songs will report it as missing even though it's still there just in a different location. It'd be handy if when a missing song is flagged in a playlist it would give you the option to search for the song or offer to automatically scan for missing songs if they haven't been manually deleted. And also, if a song does exist in a playlist and you delete it, maybe a warning or notification that the song belongs to a particular playlist and won't be available (obviously) if deleted with an option to also remove from the playlist/playlists it belongs to on deletion. Just helps to keep tings tidy Many thanks Oh, and just one other thing, maybe an option to export songs along with a playlist. Sometimes I want a particular playlist of songs on my laptop or tablet for when I travel and it's be really useful if I could export that playlist with the songs it contains so I can drag them onto my other device
  17. When I switched back and forth between those versions, I lost all the Most Played playlist, that's annoying. Is there any way to backup all of them? Thanks in advance,! and Happy New Year!
  18. Is there anyway for me to limit number of songs in recently added list? for example the default is 200 songs but I want 50. Also I use MusicBee to import songs, how do I sync playlist with it? thanks,
  19. When scrolling through a playlist with more songs on your device, you can scroll in alphabetical order, but some with the narrow limits it is impossible to click on the scroll line! You can make it a little more?
  20. I can best explain this by an example. You hear all your music in shuffle Mode but as the next song you want to hear your favorite one so you choose it to "play next" and then it will play after the current song ends (for example you are at song 35/500 and then you do this and your favorite song will play at 36/500). I really liked this feature in the google Play music app but since i only use Poweramp i would be glad if this would be added. With this you can also play the song you want as the next one without restarting the whole shuffle playlist ^^
  21. Hello. Is there some way to delete the whole que or do you have to delete each individual track? How do you play a playlist only? I selected the playlist I wanted but it keeps going back to the whole track list. Thanks!!!
  22. Hi, I am on 2.0.10 build 588-play Full Version. and on 3.0 beta! I accidently created a playlist of nearly 100.000 titles. I can not delete this list. When I push the "x" button PA waits a few seconds and goes then to the main screen. The Playlist is still there. No big deal, but still a bug. I could help myself if someone would tell me where and in what format PA stores playlists. Seems to be a mystery. I created a playlist and then looked for the name in my explorer, without success. My device is rooted.
  23. Is it possible to pin the last created playlist to the top so that we don't need to scroll the whole list when creating a new list. it's quite long winded when adding new songs and the list is low down on the alphabet.
  24. Hi It would be great to supply a mode for one-touch playlist management from the play-screen. Consider the following scenario: I have just purchased a new album. I set the straight playback and start driving my car while listening to the music. While I listen I like/dislike tracks. At this moment I can only react with stars which does not help me much. I do not really need the album cover at this moment. I would rather like to have a pair of huge buttons: up (like) and down (dislike). The result I would expect is an explicit playlist made of the tracks I "liked". One-touch is a mandatory. That way I would be building a playlist across my library via different modes i.e. straight, shuffle etc and have an opportunity to have a "liked" playlist always at hand when I am not in the mood for experiments. Regards, Eugene.
  25. This isn't a feature vital to the listening experience, but it would be a great quality of life thing. For me, anyway. When I had a Galaxy S3 a few years back, the stock music player on the phone had this feature: You could assign an image to a playlist, in much the same way albums have album art. That way, when you scroll down your list of playlists, you'd see your custom icons next to the playlist names instead of just some generic placeholder icon. For example, I used a picture with a bunch of laser beams on it for an EDM playlist, and a picture of young Clint Eastwood for a playlist of "old west" songs. It was just a customization feature I loved, just like being able to set your own album art or choose your phone's wallpaper. So when I eventually moved on to a newer Galaxy, I was super disappointed to discover that Samsung have dropped this feature from the newer versions of their stock player. I've scoured the Play Store and tried dozens of other players since then, and the pickings are slim. None of the well-designed players like Poweramp have this feature, and the two (2!!!) standalone players I found that DO have the feature are really awful, buggy, slow and ugly, not to mention absolutely riddled with obnoxious ads. Apple Music and Spotify also have feature, but Apple requires you to pay a subscription just to use the app and Spotify doesn't even detect locally stored music, you have to add it to your Spotify collection first (plus, you can't edit playlist images on the mobile app, only on their desktop software! Ridiculous!) Anyway, that's the end of my rant. I think it's a great yet simple personalization feature and the fact that it's not more common blows my mind. Seeing as Poweramp is already such a powerful player, I think this feature would make a good addition to it.
