      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code. It is hoped this will be ready for final beta-testing by the end of the May. See forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Long pressing the headset button to change track only works while inside Poweramp. When on a different app or when the screen is locked, it reverts back to the double/triple tap to change plus the beep is gone. Im using alpha build 703 on Lenovo a7000 plus running stock marshmallow 6.0.
  2. The next/prev button on the headset is not recognized by Poweramp when screen is blocked, just volume buttons work in this mode. Next/prev continue working when unblocking screen. Seems like Android system is handling this button when screen is blocked, because if I make a 3/4 seconds press, then Google detects it and ask for options for using headset with voice (which I have disabled) What can I do to fix this? Ps: mobile phone is Umi Super
  3. Multiple Bluetooth Profiles

I have emailed the developer about this, but I think they got the wrong idea. I have several bluetooth devices, but there is only one bluetooth profile in Poweramp! It would be nice to be able to set an equaliser setting for more than one bluetooth device, because at present any bluetooth device you connect uses the same profile/preset. What is good for a small pair of headphones sounds terrible on a bluetooth external speaker set up, just a thought......
  4. Hi, since I've updated my phone to android Lollipop, Poweramp started to act different than it used to. When I unplug my headphones, it doesn't PAUSE the playback but it closes whole PA app and closes lockscreen and notification bars where I used to resume the music later. This is pretty annoying since I have to open Poweramp again from my launcher, switch to player screen and then I can start the music again. Of course I have the option to pause when disconnecting headphones ON in the settings. I hope this is a bug and not a feature now... 5. Hello! I have been observing that Poweramp seems to manage the headset button control in a rather greedy way, even if the "high priority" option is not checked. Whenever I press my headset button Poweramp plays/pauses the music stream even if other music players are playing something (in my case, I see this with BeyondPod). I also encounter this problem when trying to performs actions with Tasker and the headset button. Whenever Tasker is in focus or a few seconds after loosing it, if I press the button Tasker receives it and does what it has to do, but after a few seconds Poweramp re-grabs the control and receives the button press before any other app. Could Poweramp have a less aggressive behaviour regarding the headset button? Thanks!
  6. I had the Galaxy S3 and Poweramp worked beautifully with the stock headset/earbuds. I could do the single, double, triple click with no problem. Now I have the Galaxy S5 and I can't get the buttons to work as they did with the S3. I've even resurrected the S3 and compared those settings, line-by-line, to the S5 and they are the same. Anyone have an idea how I can get this working? Please help me...it's driving me bonkers
  7. 3-button headsets

When I use my Xiaomi Piston 2's on my LG Optimus L9 (Carbonrom), the middle play/pause button works, but it also treats the volume buttons on the headset as play/pause buttons. It'd be great if there was an option to keep 3-button headset functionality normal. I'd like to be able to control the volume with the volume buttons, and have the middle button as play/pause. Trust me, i'v even tried other app's to try and restore this functionality, including Jay's Headset control. Surprisingly the buttons work perfectly on the Note 3 and Galaxy S5
  8. I'm using an HTC One running Android 4.2.2 stock ROM with Poweramp 2.0.9 Build 550 play (Full Version) With my HTC One I have noticed that once I unplug any wired headset (included black/red stock buds, stock Samsung buds, and Sony buds made for android) the boomsound speakers no longer work correctly. They will play correctly for about 0.5 seconds, then go quiet. The bottom speaker doesn't work at all and the music plays very faintly from the ear speaker. All ringtones and audio notifications (including alarms!) also become silenced, no matter how high I reset the volume. The speaker functionality is restored upon restart. I have reformatted the phone and tested with the stock Music Player without PA installed and the issue does not duplicate. A second issue is that PA isn't responding to any clicks on single or 3 button wired headsets. Double clicking always launches Redial (and sometimes advances the song upon hanging up the call) and long press will launch Google Now. A third issue is that I notice a lot of audio dropouts. I keep the Beats technology, DVC, Crossfade, et al. all disabled. I only keep the equalizer enabled and strongly prefer it to the Beats technology. However, I will have to continue using the stock app until this is looked at per I refuse to restart my phone every time I plug in/unplug a wired headset (10 or more times a day).
  9. I'm in the process of migrating to Poweramp from Meridian -- finally I can have bluetooth track info support, plus some other minor annoyances solved, and generally I like it better =) However, I found a small bug: the track info for the first track in an album (folder) is not sent to the bluetooth headset. It does not matter if you start it from a folder list or come to it using Prev/Next buttons (even when going Next to the next folder). All other tracks (2..Last) are displayed normally. Poweramp 2.0.9-build-548-play Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300), Android 4.3, StockROM Thanks in advance!
  10. I use more than one application that has "control headset buttons" switch in settings. Would be great if I can easily switch that setting with some shortcut or widget (can be integrated in the existing one or can be separate). So I don't have to have application turned on, go to settings, headset/bluetooth settings and then check what I need.
  11. I have seen some other issues with Mazda Bluetooth integration, but none describe this exact issue. I'm not even positive it is a Poweramp bug, but it might be or there might be a way to workaround in the settings. Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 Android Version 4.1.1Stock ROM from AT&TPoweramp: v2.0.9, build 525 Mazda CX-9 - 2013 The issue is this: When I change tabs on my Mazda screen, it is supposed to pause playback by sending a pause to the player. What happens is different if Poweramp is in the foreground or running in the background: If running in the foreground, it pauses for a second, then resumes playing for 5 seconds, then pauses for goodIf running in the background, it puases for a second, then resumes playing forever in the background. When I return to the Bluetooth tab on my Mazda screen, it sends another play/pause message and either resumes music (for scenario 1) or pauses it (for scenario 2) I have tried several headset and audio focus setting to no avail, but perhaps there is a setting combination that might work that someone can suggest. I recognize this may be a Mazda bug (but it works perfectly with default player) -- but since the behavior is different within Poweramp between if it is running in the foreground or not. By the way, I'm OK with the result in the foreground scenario, even though it is weird it puses for a moment and then plays for about 5 seconds and then pauses again on its own. Thank you in advance.
  12. Greetings. Thanks for the great app. Enhancing the headset button functionality would be much appreciated. 4-click for Next Folder. 5-click for Previous Folder. Adding this would make this app perfect (at least for me)
  13. Headset button functions

Is it possible to add a setting which would let you choose how the Poweramp reacts to the headset button? For example, I would like a long-press on the headset button to skip the folder and play the next one - it would be very comfortable. Or may be it could be implemented via a long-press on the phone's "volume up/down" buttons? What I wanted to say - folder skipping with phone's or headset's buttons is a must have feature. Thank you in advance.
  14. Which headset should i choose?

sennheiser hd650 or AKG q701.... i listen to Electro, House, DnB, Dubstep etc i know the AKG do have less to none bass but they look just so much better although the hd650s are just so much better in terms of the sound.... btw the AKGs only got 1 cable coming out of the headphone. (i dont really want Beats by Dre...)
  15. Before you assume this is a mere repetion of what has been suggested earlier, allow me to specify: A user did ask a SIMILAR question for a month ago, but far from identical. I DO NOT want you to CHANGE this behaviour, but asking to ADD an OPTION so it will resume play only when the music is interrupted by removing the headset. Why I am so cheeky to ask for this, is that I know you are brilliant with coding, as everyone can witness by looking at the vastness of options and features you have in your player. I could add, although it may be forfeited since it has been that long time it was posted, that an admin, called "admin", replied to a request identical to mine, two years ago, and stated that he wanted to add such an option (not removing or replace the function you have already). Thank for your time Sam Ferdinand
  16. Hey Max. Quick UI tweak request: Can you include an option to prevent the screen from turning on when using the phone's volume control or when using BT headset to play/pause/advance/reverse tracks? I use the lockscreen widget, and I like keeping my screen off when it's in my pocket (reduce battery use, avoid accidentally skipping tracks, etc.) but whenever I change the volume on the phone or use the headset, the screen turns on. Hoping for a way to override this. Thanks, Zeff
  17. Hey there, I've been running into a major annoyance with Poweramp Pro lately. I mostly use Poweramp to listen to audio books, and using XiiaLive for listening to web radios. Problem is, Poweramp is way too aggressive with picking up commands from my bluetooth headset. As soon as I press play, regardless of whether I've used Poweramp since turning on my phone or not, Poweramp starts playing. It even does this is XiiaLive (or Audio book player, or any other app) is currently in focus. This is quite annoying, and looking at the options menu the only two options are to disable bluetooth altogether, or to increase priority? What would that even do? =) Anyway, preferably I would like Poweramp to respond to my bluetooth if: It is currently in focus It is currently playing a file It is told to play within a short time, say half a minute, after pausing The widget is currently visible This would really heighten my user experience. Finally, if this is some kind of bug, here're my specs: Phone: Galaxy Nexus Android version: 4.02 (vanilla, rooted) Headset: MW600 Poweramp version: 2.06-build-507 Full version And using the Poweramp widget, 4 tiles wide, 1 high. Thanks in advance!
  18. Hi, I am not sure if this is really a bug but since the behavior is really strange/unexpected I felt this topic fits in here best. I tested Poweramp now for a week on my Galaxy S2 and upgraded now to the full version, great job, there are some features I don't want to miss anymore :-) There is just one thing that is a little strange and I would like to know, if there is a fix for it or a workaround: I use BeyondPod to manage my podcasts and I subscribed quite a lot of them. The problem is that since it is recommended to let Poweramp respond exclusively to commands from the headset remote I can't control BeyondPod when listening to a podcast, when I press the button on the remote it won't pause the podcast in BeyondPod but it will start playing Poweramp. A nice fix for that is a function in BeyondPods settings where you can define to play podcasts in an external player and I set it up to open audio podcasts in Poweramp. This works great except for one thing: When I stop listening to the podcast by for example disconnecting my headset and later reconnect it, Poweramp won't continue playing the podcasts but the last audio file I opened in it directly. This is a little annoying since then I have to open the podcast again from BeyondPod and scroll manually to the point where I stopped listening to it. Is there a way to also let Poweramp automatically go on playing files that where opened by it used as an external player? I know that I could add the podcasts to the Poweramp library and start them from there directly but them all those podcasts will appear in my music library and I don't want them to appear there mixed up with my music. 19. Hi, Long time Poweramp user, first time poster! I love this app, i even delete the stock music player from my rom. I have a small problem with my phone where, if the headphones are connected to the jack and 'respond to headset buttons' is selected, it will randomly change the track as if it thinks there is a button pushed, but my headphones have no buttons. I need to have 'respond to headset buttons' selected for when i use my SE MW600 BT headset instead of the jack. My suggestion is to have 'respond to headset buttons' AND 'respond to A2DP buttons' options if this is possible. Another is to be able to choose to wipe album art for an individual album and re-download if the art is wrong and maybe to choose from a list of the graphics to ensure the correct one. Last one is to have an auto-rescan feature which the user can select when, eg. every start, daily, weekly, monthly. Apologies if these are already implemented! Keep up the good work Max Dan.
