      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code. It is hoped this will be ready for final beta-testing by the end of the May. See forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Poweramp v3 Project Update

    Cool, thanks.
  2. Poweramp v3 Project Update

@andrewilley Would it be possible to add us to a mailing list, and just send out a mass letter to inform us of important news, or when the update is released? It would help most of us to relax and forget about the update until something relevant happens.
  3. Poweramp v3 Project Update

Basically nothing. Poweramp V3 was announced a month ago, the estimated release window came and went resulting in an increasing amount of posts by angry forum members wondering where the update is, and a complete lack of response from Max himself, which has led to further complaining and skepticism of the future of Poweramp.
  4. Poweramp v3 Project Update

You guys keep throwing around the term "loyal users", what does that mean for an app? You bought it what, once? If you stuck to it that's an indication of how good the app is, he owes you NOTHING, this isn't an unreleased kickstarter project, we're lucky he's even working on an update let alone releasing it for free to current users. If anyone is loyal, it's Max. We ALL want the update, crying "are we there yet" doesn't get us any closer to getting it. Just keep waiting, and if you can't, move on to another music player (good luck, most of them suck compared to Poweramp, which is why we're all here).
  5. Allow tags to contain multiple entries

A multi-genre selector would be ideal, it could look something like this:
  6. Poweramp v3 Project Update

Great news, I'm just glad to hear he's working on it. I'll be here day 1 to beta test. Is Max still planning this as a free update for all past customers?
  7. I just noticed a playback problem with cue files which contain multiple indexes per track. This causes Poweramp to list track times incorrectly and to repeat playback of songs when listening to the whole album. Here is an example of an affected cue. I have found a workaround where you simply delete "INDEX 02", "INDEX 03" etc. Incompatible CUE Fixed CUE
  8. .7z Archive Support

I'm a bit confused, you said "uncompressed" flac, do you mean you ripped your flac files at level 0 (lowest compression/largest size)? then placed them into 7z archives? If you want the smallest lossless size, convert your files to APE.
  9. Andre, I think I found a solution: http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/9593-missing-cover-art-fix-for-cue-based-albums/
  10. Hi guys, Some of you have noticed that your (cover.jpg) album art is not displayed while browsing your .cue based album files. The problem is that normally the tags within your music file (.m4a/.mp3/.flac) would be blank because that information is set within the .cue file. The trick to getting Poweramp to show your art is to edit your music file "Artist" and "Album" tags to match the tags within your .cue file. Once you do this, the cover art should be recognized while browsing your albums. Folder structure Music file tags (.m4a file, not the .cue) Cue file Note- The album art will show up only in "Library" view, not in "Folder" view. Another tip: If you place multiple disc albums into the same folder as I have above, go into "List Options" in "Artist Album Songs" / "Album" view and select "By filename" to prevent the CDs from mixing CD1 TRK 1, CD2 TRK 1 etc. If anyone tries this, let me know if it works for you or not.
  11. Was the cover art for .cue albums ever fixed in the alpha versions? In build 588 it doesn't show the thumbnails when browsing albums. Also, I wanted to give some quick praise to Max/Poweramp, I tested Stellio yesterday, and while it has a nice looking interface, it can't handle any files without clicking on track change, even single file/.cue and lossless. So you guys are definitely doing something right. Whenever I check out other players (out of curiosity) I always come back. Proud to have bought 3 copies of Poweramp at full price.
  12. Looks like a bug, it's sorting reverse alphabetical order instead of reverse order by year.
  13. Two Unlocker Apps

I just got a new phone (LG Stylo 2), so I downloaded the Poweramp Unlocker and Poweramp Trial from the Google Play Store, everything works, but for some reason two unlocker icons are showing in my apps. Is this a bug?
  14. Poweramp alpha-build-700

Found a couple small bugs so far: 1. Album art gets mixed up in various ways. Usually involving the first played album's art later showing up on different albums. 2. Album change swipe reacts differently, it's less sensitive. Up swipe (next album) is especially unresponsive, sometimes requiring a faster or longer swipe to change.
  15. Next builds priorities

I'm not sure if this has been addressed yet but- If Max adds a Material Design interface, isn't that only compatible with Android 5.0 Lollipop and newer? What happens to future updates for users stuck with an older OS?
