      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code. It is hoped this will be ready for final beta-testing by the end of the May. See forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Refresh Android Wear Album Art

On android wear devices music playing from Poweramp does not always show album art. From a savvy redditor: "...the album art will ONLY appear if my phone screen was on at any point during the current song. The second you turn on the phone screen, it fetches the album art and it appears on the phone and the watch. I think the problem is it's not integrated with Android Wear and the app thinks there's no reason to fetch the image if the phone screen is off, since it won't be visible anyway." This is seems to describe the behavior perfectly: album art does not load using Poweramp unless you're waking the screen at least once per son. Is there any way we could get at least album art support for android wear? [i have lockscreen art and the Poweramp lockscreen both enabled.]
  2. Hello! I have sort of an ambitious project, and I'm a bit stumped. I have a tasker variable, %ARTIST, set that just constantly updates the currently playing artist. I would like to be able to have a task which simply plays all of that artist's music on my phone. I've hit a wall at sending the command to tasker. Using the following: Action : android.media.action.MEDIA_PLAY_FROM_SEARCH Extra : query: %ARTIST Package : com.maxmpz.audioplayer Target : Activity With tasker's Send Intent task, Poweramp will play the first song of the artist in alphabetical order, then play the rest of my library in alphabetical order. How can I tell Poweramp to play a specific(Varying) artist from tasker? (Posted here instead of general talk)

  4. This is ridiculous. You're encouraging refunds for an app that does 99% of everything you'd like, and because you're crazy picky have decided it doesn't work? Madness. Anyway, I use smart playlists fine. I use the program musicbee which exports smart playlists as .m3u everytime I sync I get a static copy of the smart playlist exported to the phone.
