      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code. It is hoped this will be ready for final beta-testing by the end of the May. See forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. Latest Releases (plus archives)

This area contains the latest available version of Poweramp for regular ARM processors (note: Intel devices have their own separate download area). New versions will be available here a short while before being released as Google Play updates.

Archived copies of older releases are also available if you wish to roll back to a previous version for any reason. Caution should always be advised when rolling back any software, just in case new settings or features may have been added which may no longer be compatible with older versions.

  2. INTEL Chipset Versions

These builds are for INTEL based devices, including:

    • Motorola XT890
    • Acer Liquid C1
    • ASUS FonePad
    • Lenovo K900

These versions bring 2x-6x reduced CPU usage and better battery life for such devices. You can install the Intel optimized version on devices with the 'Intel inside' logo. It will not work on regular ARM-based devices, and if you install these you won’t be able to install a regular (ARM) version without full reinstall and settings loss. For regular Android ARM versions, click here.

  4. Alpha Test Builds of Poweramp v3

Important: Any files here are ALPHA test versions only, please BACKUP your current system before testing!

To backup your existing v2 Poweramp settings and database you will need use a file explorer app to make a copy of the contents of the root folder: /data/data/com.maxmpz.audioplayer/

Then to roll back, first uninstall the v3 test release, then reinstall the older v2 release (from the Play Store or from the apk available on this site) and then restore the contents of that backed-up folder.

This can also be done automatically via an app such as Titanium Backup, which can save the whole app+data in one go thus allowing you to reinstall the old version with a single tap.
